Sophie is more than happy to show you what it's like adopting a puppy and what to expect the first couple of weeks. OMG, soo cute. COVID put a number on me and I’m thinking of getting a support dog. I only had Boxers and Labs before, but I want something smaller, loving and cuddly, like apparently your little Sophie. Thank you for sharing, this made my day!
I'm so glad to hear that our video helped brighten your day. If you're looking for a breed that loves to snuggle, then a cavapoo is definitely a great option. Sophie is a huge cuddle bug (which I absolutely love) and she has made life so amazing!
What a cute dog. We got a Cavapoo a year and a half ago and liked him so much we got another. They love their owners and other people and are great with kids. Wonderful dogs.

Our Cavapoo/Cavoodle, Ruby, is 11 years old still asks me to get on the floor and do ‘puppy play’. She is a beautiful dog but does suffer from separation anxiety - fortunately we are retired and she goes most places with us.

I looked after a Cavoodle & the only problem I had was separation anxiety.
I tried having two Cavoodles for a while thinking they would calm each other but the opposite happened.
instead of calming each other they doubled the stress.

Ours is still learning new tricks very quickly at 11 years old. Smartest dog I've ever owned, and the most adorable nature!

Did you have an issue with separation anxiety?? Especially when they were older?? Most comments I see on this come from people who got their pup during the pandemic, so separation anxiety when people go back to the office is not surprising. What was your experience?? Thanks!!
@SoccerPickle#20 We definitely had issues with separation anxiety and we are still working on those issues. Cavapoos are known to have separation anxiety and it's something we continue to train with Sophie. I did get Sophie during the pandemic, in the middle of a very long lockdown so I was working continuously from home and we were fortunate that we didn't have to leave her alone at home because there was no where we were allowed to go.
I am still working from home, so I don't have the same struggles as some other people with pandemic puppies/dogs but I do leave the house and I've been working really hard with Sophie for her to feel more comfortable being home alone. Here are some things I do when I plan on leaving her home alone for a few hours: go for a walk beforehand (great bonding experience and it tires her out), play together with her favourite toy, fill her kong toy with peanut butter and treats, leave the TV/radio playing in the background, and I always say "be right back" when I leave and NEVER make a big deal when I return. I've also heard of people leaving toys or an item of clothing that smells like you in their crate to help ease their anxiety. It's so hard (and sad) leaving puppies and dogs that have grown so accustomed to us always being around and then we all of a sudden disappear, especially because they don't have the same concept of time as we do, so it's great to try different strategies to see what works and practice them on the weekend for shorter periods of time so they can get more used to it. They just love us so much and we want to make sure that they know when we leave it's not forever! For now I hope to continue working from home but it doesn't hurt to continue preparing Sophie for the possible change of being home alone. 😊

@@NessaandSophie I would love to get even one dog, but at the current time, my disability is preventing me from being able to properly care for a dog. I have a cat that is 13 and I’ve had him since he was weened. He is a handful, but I’m able to care for him. One day I will be able to get a beautiful dog like yours. Having that as a goal helps me a lot with dealing with my disability. Thanks for sharing your pup and I appreciate the response as well. 🐾❤️🐾

How Gorgeous! Our Cavoodle Harley looks just like your Sophie. We've only had him for 4 days now and he's just amazing, full of energy and a smart boy.

Cages are bad. My rescue Springer ended up with damaged teeth and seperation anxiety. He was caged for up to ten hours a day while the previous owner was at work. Sad. He s recovering slowly.

@@NessaandSophie I had the pleasure of looking after a Cavapoo (in Oz we call it a Cavoodle) for 6 months.
He was intelligent, intuitive & kind.
When I felt sick he was there by my side.

They can hold on with a vice grip. My cavapoo is a first class barker! Morning noon and night! She does not miss a reason to bark. Be aware: i mean sever barking. The separation anxiety is a breeze to deal with, but barking is really endless….she goes horse.😊

Thank you! 😊 By six months she was already ringing the bell to go outside and I would say she was fully potty trained by eight months.
Our family really wants a Cavapoo puppy. We have no idea how to find one, but they are so cute and playful.

I am so getting a cavapoo. Winnie will be ready on 3/5/22. Can't wait. Poodle crossed the rainbow bridge on 10/25 and the house has been kinda sad since then.

After years and years of persuading , I’m finally getting a puppy in about 3-4 months . I’m slightly allergic to dogs so we had to go with a breed which is more suitable for my allergies . We are choosing between a cavapoo and a cockapoo .. any tips ?
That's so exciting, Sophie and I are both so happy for you! Both cavapoos and cockapoos are beautiful dog breeds and I'm sure whichever breed you choose to go with, you'll be making the right decision. Both breeds are mixed with a poodle so that's a great start for people with allergies, check in with your local vets and breeders for more info and online helps too! Best of luck with your search! 😊
A bit late but Cockapoos have more energy and very active while a cavapoo is more laidback :)

What about grooming? I feel it will be expensive and you are committed long term..what is your opinion?
She is lovely ,most pups would not understand a crate is for safety that's why she probably chews it even though they need to be used from time to time for safety.
Thank you! We're still working on crate training now, but it does have a lot of great benefits.

Lord! Sophie is sooooo cute. I can't think of any reason not to want a puppy just like Sophie!
My little rescue cocker spaniel died this last March the day after St. Patrick's Day. I am still having trouble believing that she will never be with me ever again. She was my best friend and my joy. I sometimes wish that I could join her. But, I must go on, without my sweet Mia girl.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you continue to stay strong and I hope that one day you may find another puppy who will bring you as much joy as Mia did.

We are getting one ( Luna ) in 4 weeks, she is 4 weeks now. Hope she gets along with the dog we have now. He is super spoiled and does not anybody going close to his toys and my wife.

We have a rescue 17 year old Yorkie poo. When he passed I want a cavapoo. How do we find one. I have always had rescue dogs and now I want to choose a cavapoo.

Really well done. You and Sophie are a darling match. Have been seriously considering a Cavapoo have only raised and owned Standard Poodles so would be a big switch but Sophie’s genetic makeup is so perfect it makes it hard now to not be very serious about sharing tons of love with a Cavapoo

Hi! I have a Cavapoo and he will be 7 in November. He has been the best thing for our family and I am so curious to see if Sophie barks at the TV like my Cavapoo, Leo, does whenever a dog comes on the screen. Have you experienced any of that yet?? Leo loves watching tv with us but we have to limit watching any shows or movies that include dogs when he’s around haha
Hello! Leo sounds adorable, Sophie loves hanging out with us when we watch TV but she usually plays with her toys at that time. I don't think we've really watched anything with enough screen time showing dogs.
Do you have any tv shows or movies that you could recommend because I would love to see if Sophie has the same reaction as Leo!
Our cavapoo has added animals in general to tv barking : deer, moose, pigs, horses, rabbits, you name it. It started with dogs.

@Miri C Wow! That's a lot of animals to react to! We watched a movie the other night with some farm animals scenes but Sophie wasn't all that interested. 😊

There is a lot of info out there about dog toys (including dog tennis balls) and dog dental health, with Sophie we only use tennis balls to play fetch back and forth and never allow her to chew on the ball or play with it on her own.
Does a cavapoo barks a lot . Is cavachon a better option
I don't know much about cavachons, so I can't give you a comparison, but I'm sure their plenty information available online. Cavapoos do bark, especially in certain circumstances, but training them to not bark at certain times is important.
My furballs does everything she does. I cannot imagine life without all 4 of them.
That's so sweet! Life is so awesome with just Sophie, I can only imagine what it must be like to have four cavapoos!

Right now I'm feeding her Royal Canin Medium Puppy, it's the food she has been on since she was a puppy.

What is the average adult weight/size?
From my previous research they can range from weighing 9lbs to 20lbs, but if you're speaking with a prospective breeder they can give you more info based on previous litters. I'm waiting for Sophie's one year check up next month and I can give you an update on how big she is.
I would love a Cavapoo Puppy unfortunately I live in Virginia and there are no cava Pooh breeders in Virginia there are some in North Carolina but all of them or at least five hours by car :-( I am going to keep looking
Just got mine from Pennsylvania. Only 2 hrs and 30 min from Virginia! Good luck
