I have a family relative who opted for science, then changed her stream to arts, completed her B.Sc-M.Sc-PhD in English literature and then cleared the UGC NET exam in her second attempt. Now she's serving as an assistant professor in a state university. So never underestimate any field. No course is bad or good, it all depends on the individual and their skillset. If you genuinely wanna go to civil services than any bsc you can do but stay focus on your preparation and stay motivated u can do that I m also preparing for civil services exam and have faith on yourself. But u have to be focused bcoz bsc from any stream will not help in ur future but beside bsc there are other courses which u can do if u don't have faith to clear CSE examination.

Hi …. I need some help regarding my career …. I gave neet this year(my 1st drop and 2nd attempt) but I'm doubtful regarding my selection…. I'm not sure about the cutoff…. I'm confused that shall I opt for bsc in microbiology or biotechnology or something like that (because yes I'm somewhat interested in research and all)… or shall I take up veterinary fully or with a partial drop ….shall I start preparing again for neet ??.. but I feel I have given it my all…I couldn't have done it better…honestly I feel that I did my best this year …but I couldn't perform that well on exam day due to whatsoever reasons…and another thing I feel is if I end up taking bsc or some other course will I really regret it after years as my friends who'll be dropping will become doctors…n I'll just be stuck somewhere…I'm so much confused…I can't see a way through…I really don't know what to do whom to ask help for….
@Simran- idk if i'm qualified enough to answer ur question but here's my answer: first of all you have to ask yourself why do YOU want to become a doctor?and don't give answers like i'll get white coat,prestige,money etc etc, ask yourself are you REALLY interested in being a doc?can you put your heart and soul for saving people's lives?can you put people's lives above your life? can you work night shifts without sleeping for 2 consecutive days? can you bear seeing your patient lose their life even after you did everything to save them? being a doc is hard, extremely hard as it should be, because we're talking about people's lives here, so if you can do all these things 'cause it was your passion, become a doc if you like it, don't pursue it 'cause ur parents/relatives said its a lucrative career, ask yourself this, do you actually wanna be a doc, or are you just pursuing society's orders? cuz medical career is tiring and rigorous- 4yrs mbbs+pg+specialisation, and then too working under a senior doc under minimum salary for initial years,(tat means 14-15 years after 12th)can you invest 10+ more years (after 12th) studying n number of books about medicine? you are saying that you'll maybe regret not choosing medical line,okay, lemme ask you something, fast forward 6-7 years, you get in medical line, you are now studying for pg, and maybe then also you'll think "oh! but those friends of mine who took another stream and didn't take a drop, they are now employed (& some even happily married)and earn more than me while I'm still studying" so questions like these will always be there, and these questions can only be answered by heart. And don't think doctors earn extreme amounts of money(investors earn more than them), in fact in order to become a doc, you have to invest a lot of energy, time(almost all your youth), and of course, quite a bit of money. So now it's up to you, just think of your heart's desire, so that when you're old, you won't regret anything. Because you are in fact trading your time with money/fame/whatever, when we're young, we don't see anything wrong with working 12+ hrs a day 'cause in the end, we get that salary; but as we grow older, more money & increment stops exciting us because we then get to know that money isn't everything after all, and if we're in a profession we entered only for money, we start hating our job, life becomes unhappy, so choose something you like, yes our interests change, so if you wanna pursue mbbs now, but after completing mbbs you think that no, I wanna do MBA, go for it, do something which makes you happy in the present moment so that when you grow old, you can proudly say, I did what I wanted to do and not what society told me to. Also,discuss your future plans clearly with your parents, they also want the best for you. Tell them what you like and what you want to be in future,so that there are no gaps between you and them. Lastly, think practical, don't just jump into a field 'cause it looked good, for eg, don't choose medical abroad because "wow! I'll go abroad,party,fun.friends,no parents' interrupting",only choose a medical college abroad if you want to be a doctor in THAT particular country(personally,medical in India is actually better curriculum wise than it is in other countries,but of course salary is more in foreign)so, think,you're still young,you have time(even though you might think that you don't have it;life's long enough if you live it well) hope this helped.
@@helloworld2054 my brother have done bsc general then done msc biotech now getting 80 k / month at the age of 29 by gaining experience and constant working his first income was only 10k after msc but now he is earning well .....this field requires skill even doctor earn 80 k above after Ms -md that is at the age of 28-29 ...do hardwork and keep doing what you really want means what you have interest in if one doesn't thrive in one field doesn't mean you can't to....no field is good no field is bad and thete is nothing like scope it is upto you how you learn and how you earn .people just don't do hardwork and then blame the course .....see alakh Pandey and all the teachers of Allen akash earning in lakhs they are too PhD or msc students but they did there best

I'll go abroad,party,fun.friends,no parents' interrupting",only choose a medical college abroad if you want to be a doctor in THAT particular country(personally,medical in India is actually better curriculum wise than it is in other countries,but of course salary is more in foreign)so, think,you're still young,you have time(even though you might think that you don't have it;life's long enough if you live it well)

@@helloworld2054 my brother have done bsc general then done msc biotech now getting 80 k / month at the age of 29 by gaining experience and constant working his first income was only 10k after msc but now he is earning well .....this field requires skill even doctor earn 80 k above after Ms -md that is at the age of 28-29 ...do hardwork and keep doing what you really want means what you have interest in if one doesn't thrive in one field doesn't mean you can't to....no field is good no field is bad and thete is nothing like scope it is upto you how you learn and how you earn .people just don't do hardwork and then blame the course .....see alakh Pandey and all the teachers of Allen akash earning in lakhs they are too PhD or msc students but they did there best

Plz think 100 times before opting for bsc.......
