Amazing. Back in the early 80s (around 82/83 I think) before I hit my teens, my Dad and I were members of the 6000 Locomotive Association. We used to spend our weekends at the Railway Centre. I remember polishing King George's bell and eating lunch in the member's carriage! Sometimes when the train rides were operating they would let me wave the red and green flags down the other end of the line where the footpath crossed the tracks! I remember Christmas during a really harsh winter - standing outside warming ourselves around fire bins. Great days and a great bunch of people! The Centre's demise was a great loss to the city but I have wonderful and long lasting memories of it. Thanks for posting this video.
Great video. I am 75, and I can just remember steam passenger trains coming into and out of my town, which was a terminal.
