What strikes me is that both Sanibel and Captiva are clearly regarded as treasures here in Florida. It can be like walking back in time. Yet, the rest of the state including areas that should connect wildlife "corridors" are being sold to developers who don't live here, don't care about this state, and scrape all the loot off the top. Whenever anyone begs for a new road, voters should see new development and wanton destruction of habitat instead. What's worse, millions of these new homes are second homes because people want their own place so they are unintentionally destroying all that they came to enjoy. Hotels are okay for a couple of weeks, folks.

They need MORE DONATIONS. Please help line their pockets and
      fund new cameras/boats for them.

All over we are loving places to death...glad that they made the environment the center of their planning. So many places in Florida have been destroyed .

Sure wish I would have known that these people who worked to protect national wildlife were around. I would have joined their efforts instead of going to college. But I thought you had to go to college before your could do any thing. One had to have a college education to go to the peace corp. And I thought that you had to have a degree to work in any and all aspects of science. It is really sad that children are not taught all the jobs that need done, what majors one needs, personality traits, and the expanse of jobs that can be held in a category that do or do non need a college education or perhaps even a high school graduation.

I'm here... now shut the door... I despise "me first-ism" disguised as conservationism.
