Few rituals were performed and based on science of Ayurveda 1. Marriage must happen at the right age cz infant mortality rate was high so probability of bearing children must be higher. Hence the best time to conceive as per the biological clock was taken which was for men 22-30 and female 18-25. These rituals were for 5000 years and people somehow forgot the reason but it's still followed in some villages but in cities it has changed leading to birth related complications. 2. Turmeric and yogurt were used as natural beauty ingredients and improve smell and this rituals were common to both male and female. Turmeric improves skin texture and helps you get rid of skin defects like pimples and patches. 3. The 7 rounds of fire were done as indications of 7 promises a husband has to give his wife namely- a. You are going to treat the family of wife as your own. B. You will never let the dignity of wife be compromised. C. Whatever you earn, the wife has her right on it. D. You will never compel her to sell her jewelery. E. You are going to support your wife in all her religious works. F. Husband promises to provide livelihood and education to children while wife promises to take care of expenditure and household and give husband the children. G. They promise to be at each other's side and fill each other's life with love, respect, loyalty and satisfy each other's needs and they be the best friends forever. 3. Fire is an element of nature and weddings are generally done at night so that all 5 elements of nature be the witness to their marriage and their promises to each other. 4. Then husband puts toe ring at wife's toe as it is considered acupuncture point of uterus. 5. The sindoor (vermillion) is put over wife's head as the blood vessels were near to the surface that place and in old times sindoor's main component was mercury which helped women to have desired sexual activeness which she had to remove it once husband died. 6. Now mangal sutra or necklace was given by husband to ward of evil and as a sign of marriage. 7. Then the couples are blessed by married women with vermillion as a mark of good luck for the next phase. Next bangles were made to be worn by women to have stronger uterus as those days child birth was natural and stronger uterus meant better health of child and mother. What a pretty couple! Bollywood good looks! Congrats, I wish them great happiness & prosperity OMG I love gulab jaman -- in small doses And the tamarind chutney with bhaji and samosa. @@jatishtyagi I expect you're right actually. The majority look like aluminium I just thought that one on the hob at 6:20 looked like steel and even small aluminium Dutch pots cost a lot in the West
@@astrazenica7783 the bigger cylindrical pots are usually aluminium. They're cheap, easy to make and light in weight. The one at 6:20 is actually a large frying pan (called Kadhai in India) and this one's made out of Iron (I don't know if they mix other metals or carbon in small quantities, but it's mostly Iron). These utensils don't cost a lot in India. Usually 30-40 USD for the aluminum pot and something similar for the Iron frying pan as well. On top of that it's most probably not owned by the family. There are desi caterers (called Halwais) which own these pots. Its basically a one time investment for them as they get hired on a regular basis for events like marriages, birthdays, funerals, etc.

They were answering all your questions and it appears they were enjoying your company as well. The videos are appreciated when you respect the culture as it is. Good luck

Hey Karl!
I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰, and I am really happy to see all those rituals and I am really surprised to know that almost all of the rituals are being done here with the exception of few (Religious part). Its always great to see how our centuries old rituals in Sub-continental culture being shaped up according to new era's living style and here what I have observed its almost same in both countries, thanks to you for being a culture lover and bringing us the insights of our beautiful Indian culture... Great work, keep it up! Hope to see you on the other side of border once again soon!

Karl this is most beautiful video of yours. I really loved it and saw you emotionally touched with their family. (its also good as it doesn't contain any scam information :P ) :D
Thanks Sunny 🙏
hayy I just came across your channel yesterday, I'm also from Auckland and moved to India about 6 months ago. LOVE your knowledge of India/Indians and the culture/traditions. I'm currently living in Punjab, Northern India so the actual wedding ceremony was very different to the Sikh/Punjabi weddings I usually attend. It's also real nice to see how accepting your gfs fam is of you and your relationship as a lot of Indians can be quite strict and judgmental, I'm sure you know. Look forward to watching more vids... will you guys be coming up to Punjab anytime soon? =)
indians have thousand ways of wedding...
He is our very own national Damaad ji. Apart from unique travel videos of around the world. He covered Pakistan, Some parts of India, also attacks the scammers and lastly he is married. A revolution in a way, watch his videos he is married to an intelligent proud women, spoken about vitiligo.... watch all his videos you know cery little about our desi dammaad ji
Lol that male kid got his ego hurt at 04:05 when karl complimented the girls dress and not his clothing, he really wanted to impress karl

OMG I love gulab jaman -- in small doses
And the tamarind chutney with bhaji and samosa. God I'm so hungry now
Those huge cooking pots, wok type things are great. Carbon steel I expect. Cost a lot of money in the West
Mostly aluminium and not carbon steel.
Marriage cost more than 1 million in villages and 1.5 to 2 million in cities

1. In old days those poles acted as GPS to locate the bride or grooms house.
2. May prosperity grows as the hight of that .

The thing I love the most about your videos is the people just staring at you constantly
Becoz in india we dont see white ppl so ppl get shocked when they see whites
I have learned a lot from your channel and I thank you for this. Thank you and everyone who was ok with him filming, thank you all for showing the way you all do things there
It's really nice to see It's people there are honest and respectful because hear in America a lot of people are so upset with people there scamming our elders. It's getting so bad here a lot of people here don't trust anyone with your accent anymore because they have been scammed. So when I see video like this make me feel a little better. Thank you
Love you bhai, for all your amazing vlogs, really so much love you have, and such an amazing personality.. I wish you all the best, and all support for showing so much move for my country
