I was a kid when Nervous Night came out and it changed my life. I play mandolin to this day because of you. Would love, love, love to see a mandolin lesson of Where Do The Children Go. Thanks so much for all the music!
Amazing insight! When are you going to break down Time After Time? Pretty please. I think that’s the most tasteful rhythm guitar track of all time. Incredible!
Yes. Yes. Yes! It’s too much fun watching a total badass ‘splainin’ and making it look easy; guitar/studio geek heaven.Thank you, Professor Bazilian, thank you!
Mr.Eric B. I saw you guys in, I believe 88/89 in Costa Mesa, CA at an outdoor amphitheater. You opened for Stevie Nicks. A girl I was dating at the time was a huge fan of Stevie N. She and I drove up there from San Diego that night. Both of us couldn’t shut up about how great you guys were all the drive back home to SD. Have all your music on CD and digital, love you guys, rock on😎
Ah I have that little record too.I loved their reggae style. Turned me on to Marley way back then.saw them at Cabaret in WC many times. Zombies always a crowd fav.
I love this Song. Such powerful lyrics. The biblical references are just great. Not many rock artists would create a song praising the Lord. So fitting for today's times.
Eric, well done. Many thanks for breaking this iconic Hooters piece down for us. This is edutainment at its best. I am in awe! ...And in love with the Hooters.
I just posted a link to this at my Tumblr, saying I'd watch Eric show us how to empty wastebaskets or rake leaves, but of course the music is wonderful!
Nice job Eric, never realized your talent with so many instruments, as a fellow Philly musician I appreciate all the tech stuff. Subscribed, and hoping to see some more vids.
Jeremy Grob That was awesome. As I guitar player I can finally get first hand instruction on how to correctly play these songs. I’ve been a fan since you guys hit it big. I saw the Hooters for the first time in 87 in Albuquerque at Tingley Coliseum when you opened for Bryan Adams.
Eric, I have to say that as a guitarist myself this is an amazing thing to be able to watch and understand how this song was put together and the various parts written. First time I ever heard this was on, I believe, your first album ( I may be wrong, but I seem to recall 84 or 85?) which I acquired on import from the us to the uk. The song was totally different then. Then the second album came out and this song had four or five straight plays in a row on my record deck. Thankyou for being an influence on my playing (not just that song but for all the others too)
I enjoyed the video though not a techie. But nice to see how it came together so long ago. The slide part was my favorite along with the mandolin of course.
Fabulous video from a very special musician. Great video Eric. I hope you keep making them. You're a very skilled and experienced musician and I hope that more people come to see just how good you really are. Imo, you are the best there is in the musical world.
Fantastic little breakdown of all that parts. And enough stuff for a guitar nerd like me to geardive into. Your extension cords down there look like the ones we have in Germany. I wish I had them here in China as well. Nothing gets loose period. Cheers from China 😊
What great & outstanding songs you and & The Hooters composed and created, Eric! Many thanks! "All you Zombies" is AN EPIC MASTERPIECE. Please do here "Graveyard Waltz", ANOTHER MASTERPIECE, and play this whole song with all soli live. The short version is actually way too short.
I only came across the flamenco trick on the mandolin through an earlier video of yours. When I heard the record before, I always failed to know how it works.
Man, that’s great! Loved it all, but the mandolin playing the chord progression - so good! That song has so much atmosphere! I wish more artists would do this - show what they are playing. Musicians who are listening appreciate it so much. Thanks a lot. Could you show us how you play the riff/chord progression for “One Of Us” ? I know the chords are easy to pick out but the way you play in my opinion, or from I can hear - is not so typical - I mean to play exactly the way you did on the recording.
This is phenomenal. Thank you. I am not a musician but love your work. I wish I had seen this and been as riveted as my 5 year old was, I probably would have wanted to make music. But at least I make movies. Great job!! Great editing!!! (Clarence from Streetfilms)
Love it man, keep em coming. Excellent info for any guitarist. And you could musically medley Zombies right into Lifes been Good now that you mention Joe W. What kind of wood is the body of your guitar ?
Simply Brilliant! Thanks for this incredible journey into the musical genius of the Aljanon master. Stevens slide and all the gear!!! Just one question about the 2203 Marshall. 6550 or EL34?
I meant verse, but I appreciate the love. We jammed on this song tonight at a birthday party and it became the theme of the night. What a banger. Thanks for the song too 🍸
Eric, this was really fun. I still remember being at the studio when you worked on this. I remember you loved playing that fender bass with all that compression on it. Do you recall playing on that song I wrote called (Waiting for You)? Best to you / Gary

Heard the song today and I thought the mandolin part sounded very like Carnavalito music from Argentina/Bolivia, in the way the chords are played: this band from Argentina does a similar fusion between that rhythm and a pop rock song except that they didn't play a mandolin or charango in the chords ruclips.net/video/ZNzYr4U7Zs8/видео.html&ab_channel=SodaStereoVEVO Thanks for sharing your knowledge and greetings from Argentina!
i love it when you google a song you want learn and the man that made it gives you a free lesson
I was a kid when Nervous Night came out and it changed my life. I play mandolin to this day because of you. Would love, love, love to see a mandolin lesson of Where Do The Children Go. Thanks so much for all the music!
Thanks Bro
Wow! What a way to breakdown a song! Thank you Eric.
Nervous Night is one of my all time favourite albums...
So many great songs..
Still sounds good today...
I especially enjoyed the "Pop-up Video" facts about the equipment used. And also that Eric's solo was First take 😉
Just got done playing through this. The delay makes it so much fun
Super ! Bravo !
Amazing insight! When are you going to break down Time After Time? Pretty please. I think that’s the most tasteful rhythm guitar track of all time. Incredible!
OMG! That would be amazing!!! I'm also a big fan of the guitar work on She's So Unusual!!!
Too awesome for words wow

I'm enjoying this with a big, dumb smile on my face. Wonderful!
Excellent stuff, Eric. Looking forward to many more of these. It would be super interesting to hear a little about the songwriting process as well!
I have been listening to every nook and cranny of that song (and album) for over 30 years! Awesome to see the itemized breakdown, Mr. Ba-Z!
Thanks, and God Bless! Just re-discovered you guys. Love this song.
Great name your hearing about the motor of the song
I don't know much about the technical aspect of music but this is so cool how you break it down!
Wow 😳Thank you!
This is pretty amazing Eric. I would love a video breakdown of your parts on Girl Just Want To Have Fun. Hope more of these come!
Holy shit - - amazing!!
My fav tune for 35 years. Thanks for all your music. Still love the original reggae live 45 version best.

One of my all time favorite guitar solos.
this is freakin epic
Superb indeed .thanks Eric :)
I'll never be able to play it as well as you, but it's a dream come true seeing how "All You Zombies" is supposed to be played!
I love this Song. Such powerful lyrics. The biblical references are just great. Not many rock artists would create a song praising the Lord. So fitting for today's times.
So cool hearing all the parts come together to make a whole. Especially love hearing the bass and the rhythm guitar. Thank you Eric.
Great! Eric a really tasty player and song writer! Hooters is great! I saw them in Jönköping, Sweden in 1990's something.
Dig it! Great Eric! Love the Guitar nerd stuff! Looking forward to Episode 2!
Love the Ampeg fold top bass rig.. Those were awesome
Best bass amp ever. I still have mine.

Eric, Thank you, that is awesome! Its so cool how tasteful parts come together to create a great song!
Wow... just incredible. Missed you guys playing at the Keswick this year. ☹️
So did we. More than anyone.

Nice job, Eric. That was fun. I think it was my old P-Bass that you used for the first couple of Hooters records. Still have it!
Thanks, Ray. That was actually my old P-Bass, which I still have. They're the best.

As I recall it was EL34s.
Thanks for the video. Can someone help me with the last two chords of the chorus?
