    This is an amazing resort. I literally ran across it while out for a run. I looked it up when I got back to my room and saw that it was military and their families. I was really touched that there was such special place for our military. Thanks to all of you who serve. Thanks Josh & Jenna for showing us this special place.

    Hello Josh, Jenna, and Dale! Thanks for the tour, I’m an Air Force veteran and have been to SoG several times. It’s a great place for folks returning from a long deployment to enjoy family time. The prices are reasonable for most everything which is a blessing. An added benefit is no sales tax is charged for items purchased there. Thanks again!

Love being arouind the vets that served like we did and for those that are still serving. You get a great view of the fireworks from the 5th floor garage, The morning breakfast at the garden gallery is great for the price and enjoy getting lunch at the Evergreen and eating by the Mickey shape pool. Will be there For Thanksgiving Dinner and in Dec for Mickey's Merry Christmas. Thanks for the video.

    I love Shades of Green. It is on Disney property, but the resort is owned by DOD and is considered, for Disney amenities, as the same as Disney's deluxe resorts. That coffee kiosk with the Starbucks coffee also makes their own ice cream, in special flavors. the Garden Gallery has a different themed meal every evening and it is buffet, so your picky eaters can be picky. If you are eligible, check it out for your next Disney trip. They have one or two months when you do not need to be active duty or retired to stay, just have served a single tour of duty.

  • @swrodgon
    @swrodgon Год назад +1

    I’ve stayed there several times throughout the years and always enjoyed my stays. Yes, this isn’t all Disney-fied like the main owned resorts are, but the rooms are very spacious, it’s clean, and (mostly importantly if you are a retiree or active duty member), cheap in comparison to other onsite resorts or even the partner ones outside of the land. Restaurant options are good with a varied menu and if you’re into golf, 2 courses right there for the taking. If I weren’t a civilian (I only stayed there as a guest of a family member who was in the service, I would be more than happy to stay again, and definitely recommend it for anyone who can access it.

    Disney World Fun Fact: Before the DoD (Dept of Defense) bought the resort. This resort was originally the Disney Golf resort, then called The Disney Inn. It wasnt until the 90s was when the Dept of Defense took it over. Now where the Mongolia Wing is. THATS the original section of the resort (The Palm Wing was never in existence until the late 2000s)

      They really do offer a good deal especially since you get the "deluxe resort perks". However, it's hard to go from a theme park view room outside MK or EPCOT to that resort-even with the price point reduction. When I thought there would be 8 of us though-that Magnolia suite is hands down the best deal around.

At that time it was open to the general public, and was named the ‘Golf Resort’. Later expanded and was renamed the ‘Disney Inn’ (as others here, noted).
