My neighbor spent $900 on a rowing machine. Used it once, hated rowing and 4 years later blew the dust off and sold the machine to me for $50. I'd never considered rowing before before, but the bargain drove me on and I'm now a full dark horse addict 😂 Thank you for your inspiring work
Thank you Darkhorse! I am a 60 year old female who stands 5'2" and at 56 was diagnosed with Printzmetal's Angina. I was literally bedridden and have had to add movement back into my life slowly. Fast forward and here I am. 5 - 6 days a week with the approval of my cardiologist. Today, my max was kissing 34! Thank you, Shane!!
70 year old granny, 133 last set, heart rate up to 174 (don’t panic: I work out at a high rate). Only 3500 meters, but still... Shane, thanks for being here. The world is a lot better for you being in it.
I think I post this every time - but LOVE the workouts with the warm up and cool down built in - keeps me honest and I notice the difference the next day when I'm not feeling so achy.
I am 58,have been fighting Breast Cancer for 5 years. It returned in 2021 which was the worst because it had spread to my liver, bones and spine. Over the last year I have not stopped exercising no matter what and today I reached 33-34 for the last minute ……. Yay! 😅🙌🏻
66 yo female - kiteboarding/ yoga/ movement crazed - loving your workouts, the dark horse philosophy and details shared . Rocked 35 but new to this ! Ty🙌 so much !
I’m loving this workout. I’ve lost almost 10lbs in 6 weeks. I’m doing the rowing about 5 nights a week, bike riding about 2 hours a day, and walking about 18,000 steps a day. Wishing more progress would show, but I’ll take what I’ve got!
I am loving this workout. I was excited that today I finally truly “ramped up” each round! Max rate was 33 at the end. Thanks for teaching me how to row properly and the inspiration to show up every day! - J
Ugh. Thank you. I may have skimmed the Sun on the first round and the third beat me but I got it back on the last. 967/929/908/931. I was off rower for about six months and just back on since last week. I needed this row. Thank you, Shane.
I’m 67 and found this and after doing everything else my whole life I do find this to be the best. Also a beginner and could only get up to 28 strokes but it makes me feel great.
Thank you, Shane. I started working out with your videos and my new rowing machine in August. I spent 10 weeks learning the movement and just today finally was able to make it through this entire workout. I wanted to celebrate with you 🎉
Great comment about how long 1 minute feels 😂. Last minute of a 2k feels like an eternity but the 1 minute rest in this workout seems like the blink of an eye 😂
The last minutes of these intervals were pretty heavy, but the very last one was exhausting! Nice workout! More like advanced one. Thank you for this one! I liked it, but will not attempt to repeat it quickly...
Wow thank you Darkhorse I'm a almost 57 yr old lady as of the 19th this month and what a workout I'm going to keep coming back!! loved it thank you for the great support to all of us!!!
Great workout. Bought an Erg because I didn’t have enough height in basement for a treadmill to use when I couldn’t get my runs in. Didn’t know what to do with it until I found Darkhorse. Now it is the perfect compliment to my running. Thanks so much for getting me on track!
I also liked the warm up/cool down within the same video. I almost left to find the other cool down you have. I stuck with you visually at 35. I like the timer being on the bottom left so I can hide it with my phone (with HR stats) against a tablet if I want to. I use it for some work outs but with it hidden, it keeps me focused on the mechanics and pressure instead of an eye on the clock. Proud to be a DH subscriber!
Could only get to 28 in that last minute, was nackered! Great workout thank you mate. My partner and I have been doing your workouts for about 6 weeks now and feeling really really good. Just getting into a 25 days of workout challenge from the Concept website - your workouts will help for this a lot!
Been hitting these DH rowing workouts since April 2020 and they have gotten me through the toughest times giving me endorphins on the reg!!! Thanks so much!!!
Last two rounds felt amazing! Got to 37 strokes the very last minute but you shouldn't have seen how I got there. Pace got just under 1.29/500mtr that last 20 seconds. Thanks mate! First time working out with these video's and it won't be the last.
Love these workouts. A year ago I had been super into rowing…them life happened.. I am back into rowing and went straight to dark horse to get back in the saddle!! Doing great now and I can’t thank you enough for still being here to help!! Love the videos!! Great workouts!!!
Thanks Shane. Am so glad to have learned how to row properly with your very clear instructions. Really enjoyed that workout!! Feeling good!! Off to win the day!!
Gotta tell ya how much I love this one. I'm switching back-n-forth with this & the Advanced 16SR workout, right now. Breaks my brain to train so drastically differently (and that's what I needed).
Great workout. Was able, barely, to increase merters on each interval. Compared to many of the lower stroke count video workouts you have the 26 and 30 were a beast to try to maintain form on.
Hi Shane, Despite being a subscriber to your channel since you first started I have to confess that I had drifted elsewhere for real-time ergo sessions especially since Covid restrictions and floods here in the UK over the last 10 months put paid to on the water training along with ergo this video was a much welcomed lure back. Thanks as always for your efforts in bringing this to us - looking forward to repeating this and what comes along next 😎 Stay Safe Dark Horses worldwide
What a great workout! Brother, you have solidified my love for the Concept 2. Keep up the good work and appreciate your workouts. Made it 34 to 36 that last minute.
hey Shane, 45 year old RCMP officer in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Really enjoy Dark Horse Rowing. Easy on my back, due to having to wear a gun belt all day. thanks
Thanks Shane! Really enjoying these workouts. Also thanks for adding music. This kicked my butt. Took too many breaks but got to 31 on the last minute.
Thanks for this workout, I wasn’t expecting that at all! It feels great to accomplish something like this. I started rowing to recover from a rotator injury and keep doing it because it feels great to push myself.
Managed to stick to 30-32 on the final minute. Great workout as usual. It always helps me to stay motivated and keep pushing. On the topic of wearables, I’d love to see DH tanks and/or an aio one day. Whether it’s feasible or not, I’ll still be here for the next workout. You’re much appreciated.
I followed you up to 35 on that last minute - which felt like an eternity. My form was poor though, so maybe I’ll stick around the 22’s next time. Awesome workout as always. Thank you.
Wow just finished about 5 mins ago! That is intense. I got to 34 for the last minute! Got say, I loved it! Going to try and beat my overall metres tomorrow and try and maintain 34 for the last minute!
Great workout! My first interval was my best, 778m; last set I got up to a 33 & 772m so not much different but I was TIRED so maybe need to pace myself more in the beginning! Will definitely come back to this one.
This was a great workout! I found by the last 2 rounds of each set my legs were use to driving hard, resulting in much better split times at 26 and 30 SR. I fell a little short of your 1050 meters per 4 minute split, but definitely will improve my 2nd or 3rd go at this workout. Thanks for posting!
Unexpectedly hard 😆. Found this far harder than a 5k or a 2k which means....I need to massively increase this kind of training with you! Team Darkhorse!
Thank you for another great workout! Love your videos, they make rowing workouts much more tolerable and pace setting is super helpful. Got up to 35 SPM in the last minute, was gassed at the end! Keep up the great work, from Jon in Edmonton, Alberta (where it’s also desert dry, especially in winter!)
Nasty workout! Loved it 1💪. Didn't want to be in it today. Took me an hour to pscych up to go to the gym. Thanks for coaching me through it. Felt blitzed and elated I finished it. Thanks Shane as usual🏖
I did hit 34 on the last interval, but not for long. I probably averaged 31-32 that last minute. It gives me something to work towards for the future. Thanks again for a great workout!
Thank you for a brutal workout. Was both fun and intense and horribel at the same time. What you mention about darkhorses is a very good analogy, but we are lucky to have you as our backbone and support (so not really dark horses anymore :) ). What a great entry into the weekend! Btw, I only managed 30 during last minute as well. However, my main concern is actually my drag factor. It's only around 100 when doing these intervals. That seems so vey low....

Rest Period - how to make a minute feel like one second on the rower!!! Thanks for all you do!!!
70 year old granny, 133 last set, heart rate up to 174 (don’t panic: I work out at a high rate). Only 3500 meters, but still... Shane, thanks for being here. The world is a lot better for you being in it.

Another 60 yr old grandma here. I hit 35 today! Great workout! And again, thanks for no music. I appreciated the warmup and stretching.

Awesome Workout! Almost collapsed in the last minute😂 thanks and please keep it up😎
greetings from Switzerland 👍👍👍

to keep coming back!! loved it thank you for the great support to all of us!!!
1060, 1068, 1071 & 1080 hit36 on the final. Awesome as always 🇬🇧
Another great workout!!! I hit 40 in the last minute. But averaged 38. This is definitely a favorite!
That was a good one! I will put this in my go to row...got to 34 in last minute
Great workout. Bought an Erg because I didn’t have enough height in basement for a treadmill to use when I couldn’t get my runs in. Didn’t know what to do with it until I found Darkhorse. Now it is the perfect compliment to my running. Thanks so much for getting me on track!
Instant FAV! Loved that. Love you. You were on in every facet. Pushed me to beat each interval. How about an advanced version?
Thank you for all your uploaded videos. You make rowing fun, engaging and a true challenge. Love your motivational speeches. 👍
I also liked the warm up/cool down within the same video. I almost left to find the other cool down you have. I stuck with you visually at 35. Steady 33 for 34 secs at the end!!! Great workout!!!! Needed that today!

Thank you for another great workout!! I reached 35 1/2
That was fun! Got to 33 on last leg. On water rower. Love your videos. Thank you so much for doing this.
Great workout. Thanks for telling about the definition of "dark horse" made me feel very good!!!
I'm not going to lie, Shane, I wasn't saying the nicest things about you during that. But I loved this workout. ❤️❤️
Great w/o today-made it to 35 last interval. Looking forward to next.
Lovin' the @darkhorse workouts. Boucin off 35 for that last minute tryin to get it steady. Keep them coming!
32 max stroke today - in the dry desert. Thanks for the workout.
This will be my workout today. Thank you!
Hi Shane with you all the way and really enjoying these workouts. Started 4 weeks ago. Jackie from England, a Dark Horse. X
Love these workouts. A year ago I had been super into rowing…them life happened.. I am back into rowing and went straight to dark horse to get back in the saddle!! Doing great now and I can’t thank you enough for still being here to help!! Love the videos!! Great workouts!!!

Thank you, you inspire me at a time I need most. Dont retire ok
Gotta tell ya how much I love this one. I'm switching back-n-forth with this & the Advanced 16SR workout, right now. Breaks my brain to train so drastically differently (and that's what I needed).
Another great workout. Thanks, Shane. Yours is the only rowing channel I follow.
Been working out with you for the last 2 months! This workout! Epic! Thanks
Every workout…awesome….
Thank you!
Great workout. Was able, barely, to increase merters on each interval. Compared to many of the lower stroke count video workouts you have the 26 and 30 were a beast to try to maintain form on.
Thanks for the great workout! Super killer one this time! I absolutely appreciate the warm up and cool down time added into the video!

absolutely love Dark Horse Rowing!!!!! Thank you again x
Awesome work out! First time doing this one, gotta push harder in the early sessions! Looking forward to doing it again.
I hit 35 on the last round, averaged about 865m on each set. I gotta beat that next time.
Great workout in short time. 33-34 SR for me in the finale. Fried my hams and glutes right before leg day haha! Thanks a lot Shane.
Love the DH channel so inspiring! 34 was the peak rate for me.
Top fan from New Zealand ✨️
Great workout, coach!!! Thanks for the guidance. See you next time.
Amazing workout. Just what I needed for my first workout of 2022. Thank you.
Thanks for this workout, I wasn’t expecting that at all! It feels great to accomplish something like this. I started rowing to recover from a rotator injury and keep doing it because it feels great to push myself.
Was lucky enough to find this. Took ya to the gym. Was able to get to 31🙌. Thank you for an awesome work out.
Amazing workout Shane! I definitely felt stronger the longer it went on, as was concentrating on my breathing and the full foot on the catch 😀
Last minute managed to hit 36SPM. After doing many Dark Horse programs this is without doubt one of the best.
Thank you, Shane. You have helped me learn the mechanics of each stroke. I’ve gone through your beginner videos and I’m ready to start this one 🙂
I did it! I was with you every step of the way! *pats back*
Love your workouts, cues and explanations. I'm rowing in the masters program with Row America. Your workouts help to reinforce what I'm learning.
Fabulous workout Coach !! 34-36 and I feel great !!
Another fantastic workout, thank you Shane! Thought it was all finished at the 3rd round and realised there was one more to go 😂
another amazing workout. 286 cals and 4148 meters total, 1061 last set.
I followed you up to 35 on that last minute - which felt like an eternity. My form was poor though, so maybe I’ll stick around the 22’s next time. Awesome workout as always. Thank you.
Love these workouts! Just started doing them. Got to 32 and 938m in that last one.
Wow just finished about 5 mins ago! That is intense. I got to 34 for the last minute! Got say, I loved it! Going to try and beat my overall metres tomorrow and try and maintain 34 for the last minute!
So appreciate Darkhorse and all your positivity! Do you have a workout targeting upper body, especially for women?
2 nd workout with you, 2nd day rowing. 35-37 consistent at end ! Yew
Great workout! My first interval was my best, 778m; last set I got up to a 33 & 772m so not much different but I was TIRED so maybe need to pace myself more in the beginning! Will definitely come back to this one.
Love your workouts, they are all great. I got up to a 33. Really enjoying the workouts.
Just started doing these workouts with you….love them! I got up to 34SPM in the last minute 👌🏽
Great Workout! I have rowed with you every time since I purchased the tower last month!

Keep up the great work, from Jon in Edmonton, Alberta (where it’s also desert dry, especially in winter!)
I made it! Thanks for the excellent workout. Looking forward to the next one.
Love love loved that workout. Just what my body needed...:) from Minnesota
34s, 941m - last interval
Great stuff!
This was just what I needed this morning. Love your workouts!! 💪🏻
Love this workout. Definitely will put it in my go to training! Thank you!
Nasty workout! Loved it 1💪. Didn't want to be in it today. Took me an hour to pscych up to go to the gym. Thanks for coaching me through it. Felt blitzed and elated I finished it. Thanks Shane as usual🏖
28/4/23 back from slight leg injury 10 days ago. Easy row back in . Hee. 3370m. 1st 4min slow. Felt good. Thanks Shane 🏖
30-31 this time, thank you so much Shane 😊
What a great workout and coaching. Made my week!
It was great workout. Rollercoaster and this one are my favourite. Thanks and greetings from Poland.
Got to agree with that!
Love my new concept 2 and your workouts! One request, could you go thru the steps of setting up the rower a little slower? Thanks!
I did hit 34 on the last interval, but not for long. I probably averaged 31-32 that last minute. It gives me something to work towards for the future. Thanks again for a great workout!
Hey great workout. I do biceps, shoulders, and lower back too by making stroke adjustment.
"....you want to know how to make a minute feel like an eternity? sit on a rower. " true words 😀 Hit 34 on the penultimate minute #surprise
Thank you so much - I have come to rely on your videos. They are amazing.
Thank you for a brutal workout. Was both fun and intense and horribel at the same time. What you mention about darkhorses is a very good analogy, but we are lucky to have you as our backbone and support (so not really dark horses anymore :) ). What a great entry into the weekend! Uuuuu Great Workouts thank you Shawn greatings from Luxemburg
Great workout! HR maxed out at 168 in that last interval! ❤️💪 Thanks!!
