How nice that you are in Brazil. My wife and I have been following your adventures for a long time and we also have a Defender 110 300 Tdi that we call Peter Pan. We used to live in Curitiba but we moved this year to Minas Gerais and it would be a pleasure to support you if you need it. Regards.
We have loved Brazil so far! Such a beautiful and relaxed country 🙌 ah we aren’t getting that far north unfortunately, thanks so much though! Would have loved to meet you and Peter Pan!
So glad to see you both and yak made it to the Americans . Looking forward to seeing your journey to Alaska . great video you two .Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):) 🍻🗺😁👍🏼🌎
And so it begins, congrats!🙂 If you're planning on travelling for one year you could easily spend it all in South America, much cheaper than Canada and the US. 👍
All the best for an amazing journey ahead! Go Yak! …it would be really helpful if you could share your rough budget for a year on the road? ...We’re planning to do a similar trip in 2026!
Thanks so much! Well, we try to aim for about £1,000 a month because we mainly cook ourselves and don’t stay at campsites if possible. Plus shipping and flights for this one + a buffer for Land Rover going wrong somewhere :)
We’ve had some Brazilian overlanders give us some contacts for Land Rover groups/mechanics in Argentina and Chile but obviously we won’t need to use them…. 👀😂

So glad to see that you got your driver's door seal fixed before this trip. Should make for a better ride.
It’s an ongoing battle 😂
Marvellous ..look forward to 1 (or more) year(s) of travel updates and no doubt lots of inspiration to digest here 😅
Thanks 🤙 and hopefully not too many breakdowns 😅
Yay, you’re back, saved straight in to my watch list. This will be good. 👍
Feck it, never mind the watch list. Stayed up late to watch it. You’re on your way. Nice job as always.

Hello! from Türkiye...
👋
And so it begins! I assume an 18 month timescale to get to Alaska?
We’ve actually only got enough time/money for a year. We’re going to make the most of what we can though! ☺️
Is there much support for land rovers in South America? (Mechanics and parts)
We’ve had some Brazilian overlanders give us some contacts for Land Rover groups/mechanics in Argentina and Chile but obviously we won’t need to use them…. 👀😂
Do you know you’re not allowed to drive with a right hand drive vehicle in some countries in Hispanoamerica?
Yeah - we can’t do Costa Rica or Nicaragua sadly!
@@yakoverland4543 Pity about Costa Rica, but you don’t miss anything in Nicaragua, is a socialist dictatorship. Good luck and keep at it. 👍❤️
