Roar - Releasing the Fire of God
1. Putting High Value and Honor on the Fire of God
Matt 3:11 He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Acts 1:5,8 you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses
• God’s fire brings holiness, separation, judgment against enemies, breaks indifference and brings great power and boldness
• Jesus is the baptizer (dip, immerse) in the Holy Spirit and fire
• Power - (dunamis) to be under power, dynamite, explosive, might, energy, great force, great ability, great strength
2. How to Get the Fire of God - Bring Them Back Into My Presence
Lk 24:49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here (WAIT) in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”
Ex 33:11 Inside the Tent of Meeting (presence), the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
• Remaining in the presence of God does something to you
• God lights the fire, but it is our responsibility to keep it burning
• When we spend time with Him, He sets us on fire like Himself
• Be filled and filled - private intimacy produces public power
Eph 5:18 Don’t get drunk with wine, because it makes you lose control. Instead, keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit #LiquidFire
Jude 1:20 build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. (Charge yourself up like a battery.)
Isa 40:31 (NIV) those who hope (wait) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Luke 6:12 He spent the whole night in prayer to God.
3. Don’t Get All Caught Up - the Battle Ground for His Presence
Rev 2:2-5 “I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. “But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.
In consistency lies the power - don’t ever lose your prayer life
There’s always loss when we neglect the presence of God
Repenting for sin the sin of prayerlessness
Luke 10:39-42 Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”(supposed to be sitting she was serving)
