Roar - The Power of Prayer
1. Prayer is Spending Time in The Father’s Presence
Ps 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
John 15: 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Prayer is not a ritual; prayer is a relationship with your Heavenly Father - He loves to spend time with you
When we know His goodness, we yearn to be in His presence
Sometimes I can hear in my heart, “ I miss you, I cant wait to spend more time with you”
Ex 33: 11 Inside the Tent of Meeting (presence), the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
Luke 6: 12 He (Jesus) spent the whole night in prayer to God.
Mark 1: 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
2. Prayer is a Place of Repentance and Humility
Ps 139: 23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
2 Chron 7: 14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
1 John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
3. In Prayer, We Must Remain in Childlike Faith
Matt 7: 7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
James 5: 16 The effective, fervent (Fire, hot) prayer of a righteous man avails much.
4. In Prayer, We Hear His Call and We Respond
Ex 3: 4 …God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Ex 3: 7-8 And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. 8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land…
Ex 3: 11-12 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you….
