I see your point. And as an Asakiku fan I do agree at some of your points. The main reason why I ship them is because they are like an old married couple who just wanted to relax, sip tea, read their books, and sew. They are like a retired couple just wanting to be at peace with each other. There's no drama and they are comfortable. They highly respect each other and they even look up to each other. They are so wholesome, England is at constant drama, so he deserved that peace and comfortableness. Japan is very timid, and he seemed like he really gets England as a person. They also have their own ups and downs, especially ww2 and the end of their alliance. There's not much drama but there is some, and they are not toxic to each other. Some might find it boring, but we all have preferences. I for one just wanted happy wholesome less problematic ship. This vid is a good critique thou UWU
absolutely agree!!! as a (very) casual shipper who mainly into hetalia for the family/friendship dynamics, asakiku for me is a little wholesome ship i like to enjoy every now and then which i can squeeze a bit of drama and angst out of if i so choose (which is... not very often). also, i just want england to be with someone who is at the same wavelength as him for a change and idk, for some reason banter can get a little tiring at times for me so yea. overall the video is very accurate and brings out some good points! everyone just has preferences (^v^)
"No drama" that's exactly the reason I ship Asakiku, they feel so comfortable with each other, they listen each other, they respect each other, they learned about their culture and traditions from each other You mention the Asakiku during the WW2 but then what about Ameripan? That's mostly the reason I don't ship it besides I feel like Japan is very uncomfortable with America around. (And that's why I ship AmeKor)
Japan literally lets America hug him when with pretty much anyone else it's instant rejection. You don't have to ship it, but he's comfortable around America. They're friends.
@@stepoutskz Italy hugging Japan was actually what I was getting at. When Italy did so, Japan immediately pushed him off. And Japan does invite America over to his place as well, so I don't think he's uncomfortable, just kind of reserved. Like I don't ship Ameripan THAT much, but I think it's pretty clear Japan's fine around America.
@@leahheddinger2962 Japan told to England while he was learning English that he kind hate America. Still even if Japan invites America to his house, I feel like America doesn't know to give his space to Japan. But anyways..
@@stepoutskz I think with that, the thing to keep in mind is the time period. Relationships evolve over time, and when America and Japan are shown to be close, it's almost always in modern day, which reflects real world relations. I don't think anyone ships them during or before WWII? I could be wrong, but I think most people ship them in a modern day setting. I don't think he said he HATES America, just that he was a bit annoyed by him. And Japan's not a push-over. If Japan was really bothered by America being clingy, he'd say so.
Japan is compatible with so many people I've just decided Japan is the harem king because it's makes it easier for me Tho Giripan I love just a bit more than every other Japan ship Giripan, Nedpan, Turkpan, Ameripan, Romapan, Itapan, Asakiku, Nichu etc all of them work and I don't know why
Lmaooo the edit of the vid made me laugh I couldn't take it seriously sorry😂 "everyone needs to be shipped" yup that's pretty much the fandom- I do be loving Asakiku and Ameripan kind of the same amount😳
Well, they definietly seem to have more of a friendship, never seen any sexual tension between them..Its why I prefer amepan over asakiku. I pretty much ship japan with everyone idk why, maybe cause his my favourite...I do that with italy and romano too lmao. But you do got some nice points there. Though in fairness of asakiku, world war 2 was 80 years ago....And there are many asakiku ww2 stories, I read a whole story once about the allies trying to take japan to their side, actually theres a few of those same stories, ironic since japan was the last one to surrender.
Here I am looking up an old AsaKiku video from like 8 years ago becuase I forgot the vocaloid song used (found it btw) and I see Hetalia still has an active community. I dont know whether to be happy or confused lol
so....asakiku is bad because it’s the healthiest ship in the show? and there’s no problems with it? just wondering why you would make a whole video judging the ship. it just seems unnecessary. and it’s not like kiku and arthur don’t interact at all in the show lmao-like there was literally a whole segment where arthur stays overnight at kiku’s place. the two are super close, it’s very obvious. so there’s enough for this ship to keep it going. just sort of confused right now 🤷♂️
to be honest it did not match AsaKiku, I see them more as friends or best friends. although they have known each other for many years, I think there is something (a bit much) overrated, I've tried, but can't. and the fanfics do not convince me. And even if you have had moments, do not forget who Kiku was who looked for Arthur (because as Unhappy Chibi said in the video of 'the problem of shipping Usuk' Arthur has a big ego and it is very difficult for him to care about someone and something similar is also with Alfred)
England does care about Japan. The main gimmick of his character is being a tsundere so while he maybe proud it's just a way to hide his embarassment (as I said in my videos)
My problem with shipping asakiku is that Anglo-Japanese Alliance was established to stop Russia’s expansion in Asia so that it ensures both sides can take advantage of China and Korea. So I just wanna give a middle finger to this pairing. Honestly, fandom of both sides as enemies fighting over China would be more interesting 🧐
England: I want friends. I'm so lonely.
Portugal for the last 600 years: Am I a joke to you?
I just see them as friends, but you do what you wanna

To be fair I don't even see them as friends just business partners
I ship them as friends and lovers, so no problem haha

Okay but America, England, and Japan as like a friend group would be so entertaining
I don’t really see them as a couple OwO XD
I see them as good friends uwu
But the ship isn’t too bad 💕
If I recall asakiku is on top 3 most shipped pair in Japan, they're hugely famous in Japan
Ah yes, i ship for angst bc this ship lore hit deep
i can only see them as acquaintances. but dont ever let anyone stop yall from shipping your ships.

@@UnhappyChibiWasAlone hm...okay, got it 🤙🏼
omg can you do "the problem with shipping Gerita or UsUK? " OR BOTH?"
I never really understood the appeal of this one, either. I prefer EngPort and Ameripan. Though I really only ship modern-day Ameripan.
Wait- that's a ship?
What is not? There is so many ships in fandom. I even once saw a crack ship GermanyXstick
@@karolinakuc4783 I mean hey, I guess the number one rule of a fandom is that if it can be shipped, it will be shipped.
