    We frequent the Nanaimo area to visit family. There is no shortage of hikes and beautiful scenery, which the video made evident! The added feature of hiking is the slowing of the aging process!

    • @HomeARoam
      @HomeARoam  2 года назад

      It sure is! We were passed by a small group of older folks with a dog who made the steep incline look easy! Not to mention the trail runners who can complete the entire ascent in about 30 minutes!

      Yes unfortunately the ferry can be pricey for oversized vehicles. We were able to get a super saver deal and save 50% by traveling at off-peak times.

    This is the best video you have made so far by far!! You showed more scenery and the new camera was awesome!! Too bad you did not go for a walk in Amonite falls beautiful and nice trail!The bird is a raven ! They make a lot of funny noises ,you must go to Ladysmith and try their bakery unreal blackberry cinnamon buns ,tortilla pie yum yum

    • @HomeARoam
      @HomeARoam  2 года назад

      Reasons to come back again! The lineup at the bakery was out the door when we arrived at 9:30 (they opened at 8) and they were nearly sold out of cinnamon buns when we got to the counter. The blackberry one sounds amazing!

    I remember years ago driving to the top of Mt Benson in a 4x4, at that time there was a fire look out tower with a worker stationed there. He kept a visitor log book for visitors to sign!

    Nice video. As a nanaimo resident I can confirm this place is pretty epic. You really appreciate when you start living in other places. There’s like 10X more things to do in Nanaimo, a city of 100,000 than Edmonton, a city of 1 Million

      @@HomeARoam Agreed. You got several crystal clear lakes and rivers within driving distance, loads of mountains and hills to climb, beautiful places to walk in the forest or along a beach or something and if that’s somehow not enough, the local skiing hill is just an 80 minute drive up North. 10/10

    Nanaimo is so beautiful but always seems to get painting in a negative light. Jealousy maybe? The media love to smear Nanaimo.
