    Would you repot over dormancy/winter? and would you repot each season until they are a small tree size? I found some tubestock from a local nursery and I bought them all. I'm going to try my best to grow them into nice examples in pots.

    Thanks for this informative video. I live in Zone 7a. What would you do to these seedlings over winters? Should they be moved indoor or left outdoor in pots?

    • @JonnyMaple
      @JonnyMaple  Год назад

      I would protect them in the winter if I were you. Once mature, and in the ground you should be fine

    Do you think the 2” square is too small for seed propagation?, pretty much every nursery in my area uses those to start from seed (Succulent though); I think I have probably a hundred of those.
    Also, Kindly, Please share a link to your selling offers; thanks 🙂

      Seryiu is a very fast grower. As well as sangu kaku. I myself have gotten into trees over the last 2 years and now have a hundred dawn redwood seedlings/ 6 four year old dawn redwoods as well as 16 different Japanese maples. It’s like gold. Once you get one. You need more!

    I've tried growing from seed/transplanting nature-germinated seedlings but I don't have much luck keeping them alive after winter dormancy. I've tried watering some and leaving some dry but none of them make it past winter in my care. If I leave them in the ground though they'll survive no problem but the problem is my dog loves to pluck them out of the ground.

    A green shop nearby has a kind of japanese maple that grows insanely fast, from 1 feet, it can grow to 4 feet in one year, from 3 feet, to 7-8 feet. It has full (no cut) leaves of handpalm, is green bark when young, and easely gets 5 meter, likely get 7-10 meter (even if it's multistem). They claim it's original species of acer palmatum, but that is not possible to find on internet. Ever since then, i'm hunting this species to know wich is is, since it's by far the fastest growing i've seen ever. They also have more leaves then any acer palmatum i've ever seen, they dont dry out at the bottom of trunk still having several bush like branches with lots of leaves.
