  • In this video I first make an organ sound using a single carrier stack.... I then show you how to get a noise source by merely changing the Operator Frequency Ratio and the Operator Output Levels

    Wow, sweet topic to cover Stephen! I haven’t watched the entirety yet but will so after work...looking forward indeed

      I hope you get through to the end..... I am trying to be more concise and keep videos short.... I might have lost it with this one.... but I really hope it benefits those interested in this topic.

      Stephen Mendes ok, I forgot I had the day off for Labor Day in the U.S.
      I watched the whole thing...I love how you went against the common instruction by actually using an operator stack to make the organ sound. It sounded very convincing, particularly with vibrato. I have the MODX and it is so easy to get into wild territory super quick. FM synthesis is a beast that’s hard to tame for sure.
      Great addition to your video presentations on synths fine sir!

      Check out the Yamaha DX200 Groovebox. I have not so much as even touched on myself but from what I have seen on RUclips, they appear to have the most tweakable FM interface on the market to this day.

      Haze Anderson those groove boxes from the early 2000’s always intrigued me.

      Did you happen to catch "Synth Wizards Episode 8: The Elusive DX1" that was uploaded just yesterday? :)

      @@HazeAnderson I just finished watching the whole thing, all 35 minutes of it 😁..... thanks for that tip.... with my electronics knowledge, I could be doing similar job..... but living in Barbados, it would not be feasible ..... anyway it got me thinking, perhaps I need a few more "vintage synthesizers" 😂🤣😂 .... but not before I crank out more videos for the ones I already got..... definitely got to increase my OUTPUT of videos .... thanks buddy

    Is it possible to get the parameters of the factory presets of the synt?

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад +1

      yes..... simply load any preset ..... then enter the EDIT mode ..... and without changing anything, you can switch from one parameter to the next and write down the values (but even if something did get changed by accident, simply turn off the instrument and the preset goes back to the original ROM parameters

    Can you make a video or comment how we can add sysex files to a dx27, im looking more like the trumpets or brass and horns

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад

      you cannot "add" anything to the DX27 ..... it does not have memory storage for that..... the only thing you can do with sysex on the DX27 is to control a limited number of parameters in REAL TIME by feeding the sysex commands to it from an external source

    • @alexanderchavez3920
      @alexanderchavez3920 Год назад +1

      Can you delete sounds and replace them for another sysex file, all i want to do is put different trumpet and trombone sysex, hopefully you can help me

    • @StephenMendes
      @StephenMendes  Год назад

      @@alexanderchavez3920 NO is not possible ..... you can ONLY "modify" existing sounds ...... and only 24 memories (holds 24 sounds) to save modified sounds in.
