    Sir isn’t it that in free electron gas theory that coulombian attraction between electron and positive ion is overlooked and electron & negative ion repulsion is taken into consideration. So that when an electron passes an ion, its velocity increases rather rapidly in the ion’s neighbourhood, due to decrease in the potential.

    Whether electron gas theory is electron free model? Or both are different? Pls reply it soon......

      Electron gas theory implies that electrons are being treated as an ideal gas, and hence can be subjected to kinetic gas theory (which is for ideal gases). Electron free model, however, is Drude's theory of free electrons with the assumptions (independent electron, free electron and thermal equilibrium).
