This is what should be on every news channel daily and in every classroom daily. This is how people were for many many generations. Love and gratitude goes a long way.
This is how people still are…obviously. We just have the ability to see the bad at our fingertips…and that’s usually what people focus on. The good in people is very clearly very much alive.
I can’t express how important these stories have become to me and my two sons, 17 and 19. We started watching about 3 years ago. We were going through a very rough time. I felt helpless and I couldn’t find anything good to say to my boys…. one sleepless night I typed in “videos of good people and things” into my phone out of pure desperation I did that …. and I’m so glad I did. I’m so greatful these videos exist, the hope, love and joy they provide saved us. Thank you ❤ when our turn and chances come you can be sure we will give back always with love hope and joy ❤
Beautiful, Jen. For the last 10 minutes I've been thinking about you and your family. You've got this. A stranger said that to me when she observed a somewhat shocking interaction between me and my then 14-yr-old. I said I do? I forget what her answer was but something like Yes. I'll never forget it and I think about it often. With all my heart, you've got this, Jen ❤ Peace, love and continued strength and bonding to you and your family from the Russos in Pittsburgh, PA
When I saw the compilation was over an hour I thought I would leave it till later also, but having had a hard week myself I decided to watch. A ton of tissues later and my heart feels lighter and my day feels more positive. Steve Hartman and CBS Sunday Mornings, thank you!
As someone with a physical disability, the first story warms my heart! The care the other students have for them gives me goosebumps. And i love that there are so many kids there with physical disabilities; I grew up not knowing anyone like me. Its great they have each other.
I think that my childhood was perfect from my time period. Born in the mid 1960's, when everything was so simple it seemed. It truly amazes me that these children, seeing a slight wrong in the schools playground, changed the lives forever for themselves and their friends. God Bless them All.
With all the stupidity, hate, violence and lies in today's news and the world, these videos are a great reminder that out there every day, there are great wonderful people doing great doing great wonderful things. It's so very easy to forget this. Nice work, Steve Hartman.
Isn’t it crazy that if you go by these videos…I have no fear of the future. The good in people is freely flowing everywhere. This little kids have more empathy in their pinky toe then I did in the first 40 years of my life. They make me want to be a better person.
I absolutely love this kind news instead of the downtrodden days of our worn out world. I look forward to my cup of coffee and a good old fashioned happy cry. These heartwarming stories make my Sunday morning so much happier! Seeing the good that's still in the world just evokes hope in a world that seems so angry all the time, just gives you that craving for a chance to do something good for someone else just to see that wonderful smile they have! Thank you for your wonderful stories and for all the happy tears.
Love acts of kindness. It brings me to tears of happiness. There are great people in the world who make a difference. I hope people will watch this and be inspired to help others .
When I was in second grade... Quite a few years ago😂.. My teacher was so convincing that we were going on a class trip... I talked about it so much.. My Mama asked where's the permission slip. That day Mrs. Green told us we would travel vicariously.. she said that to second graders. It was the absolute best thing... She taught us to listen and create the scene in our heads. From that day.. Which is 60+ years later, I still recall.. I never read another book with pictures.
These stories ought to be in the headlines and frontlines of every damn newspapers and TV news. Instead, we are being fed crap daily which cause us to fight one another! Maybe there is hope for a gentler and kinder world - not only in the USA but everywhere.
I teared up at every story, but the story of the young boy whose teacher gave his mother a kidney opened the floodgates. At 44:50 my eyes welled up and I had to pause and take a moment. I am dealing with an out of nowhere stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Beating cancer but now I'm in a wheelchair and can only look upon the mountains I used to climb. Everyone says that I am strong and always cheerful.... but some days when I want to cry, stories like this can open the floodgates of happy tears and not despondency. Thank you CBS Sunday Mornings 🌞!!
I know you will gain strength and joy through Nature. The wind, rain, clouds …they give us so much. Drink in the sunshine and know you are loved. Sending love.
Due to headlines regarding those in entertainment made me look for something else, and found this channel with has made me bawl my eyes out😢 and have my ❤ filled. Those 55mins restores my faith in humanity ❤
These kids couldn't stand the injustice of seeing their peers not being able to have fun at recess. So they changed that world. They are an example to the entire world. Reese for president!
‘I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way”…Whitney Houston’s song said it best! ❤…Curtis the bus driver is how we all should be..what an amazing man he is and he totally deserved that new car! What an awesome human he is!…an angel among us for sure!
These stories MAKE MY DAY. SOmething we all NEED sooo badly ! Thank you Steve Hartman! Can you IMAGINE if all our wealthy people would step up and help at least ONE person in need?
This has been the best hour I have had in a long time. There are so many special moments and amazing children, adults to mention. If this video doesn't restore faith in humanity I dare say nothing will. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. So beautiful and special. The gift of giving and spreading love & hope & imagination to everyone that watches can change the world. God bless you all. ♥️♥️♥️💯✌️
Thank you for posting this uplifting video! And a huge thank-you to the children at that school who raised funds for the special playground equipment for their handicapped classmates. You restored my faith in humnity!!!
Giving the students and a parent, in Toledo an opportunity at going to college was not just an amazing gift to them but amazing lifetime gift to the communities that they will serve and enjoy. I hope each and everyone one of them will be able to 'pay it forward' some day.
Steve, when I’m feeling down about how things are going I know I can always tune into you to find the amazing people in this world… thank you. The stories you do on everyday heroes are just beautiful… do you ever stay in contact with any of the people you do stories on???
Am home sick today, just a bad cold. Doing a little sewing, and am tearing up at each and every story-LOL! Reminds me of what my Dad used to say: "When the movie's good enough for your Mom🥲 to cry, I know she's really enjoyed it."
My dad retired from the railroad but still needed insurance because of his diabetes. He went to work for the bus barn with the disabled kids. There was a young who child formed a bond with my dad. Unless the seats were blue and my dad was on the bus he wouldn't go to school. My dad passed away 5 yrs ago and I still wonder about that child.
The best thing that ever happened to On The Road was COVID. Steve Hartman at home with his kids, Emmitt and Meryl, is worth its weight in gold. For such young people, they were amazing in the episodes. They taught even more than they learned.
"You did" Just the way Hartman said that...Love him. He is an absolute treasure.
Good to see some 'good news' have happy tears instead of sad ones. Thank you.
The absolute best part of CBS News is Steve Hartman and his stories On the Road!

Acts of kindness are the best inspiration for more acts of kindness. We need far more stories like these.
The college tuition is as much for the parents that felt like failures for not having the money to send their kids to school.. what a beautiful story
I love this show. More kindness should be highlighted in our media
I think there needs to be a good news only network to take us away from all of the negativity we are constantly exposed to.
All day everyday!
