  • Well today I was going to show you the 1979 GS Suzuki 850 shaft drive , but it was raining , it's my precious and I didn't want to get it wet (soddo). So not to waste the day I decided to go to one of my garages and attempt to star my other motor bike , a 1979 GS Suzki 550 E . I rode the bike into the garage about 5 years ago ish , put a cover over it and haven't been near it since . So will it start ....... lets have a go and see..... when the weather is dry I will do a video on the 850 Suzuki , but for the the time being I hope this will surfice.

Just found your channel and this video. Well done with both video and bike. Have same model same year myself. Bought it back in 1987, before I turned 18. Now it has been sitting since about 2000 or so, since it was bashed in an attempted steal. Have started it once every other year, but your video just might give me inspiration enough to do the bike up. Thank you!

She’s in good shape for her age!. I add fuel stabilizer in a full tank for storage. Makes a world of difference next season.........👀😎👌👍✌️👋🍻🇨🇦

Yes it's not looking bad to say it's 40yr old , I've just started using fuel stabilizer myself as well.

Hello Steven , yes it took me by surprise there was no way I thought it would have started without having to mess about with it first.

had a couple of these. If you had the later model with the vacuum carbs the rubber diaphragms would have been shot so you have the best model for reliability. You may want to consider fitting a fork brace as the front end will walk under hard braking with out the standard steel mud guard. worth doing up that old girl.

Hello Cissy , yes you are correct about the carbs and the front end wander under breaking , they are a good bike and will probably get the attention it deserves.

Lovely Jubbly, Japanese reliability, bet it wouldn't of done that if it was an Italian bike.

Ha ha , I think if it was a Italian bike it would have only come with a reverse gear .
