Pistachio Shortbread Dessert aka my grandma's Pistachio Torte

This is a delicious non-bake cheesecake using pistachio pudding, to dress it up for St. Patrick's Day! EVERYONE loved it.

Crust:
3/4 c. butter (1-1/2 blocks)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1-1/2 c. flour
1 c. nuts, chopped
Cheesecake filling:
2 boxes (3.4 oz) instant pistachio pudding
2-3/4 cup whole milk
1 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 small cartons Cool Whip, divided
Beat butter and brown sugar; add flour and nuts. Press dough into buttered 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 375° for 10-15 minutes or until top browns. Cool.
Smooth together cream cheese, sugar and 2 cups of Cool Whip. Pour an even layer over crust.
Mix the milk and pudding mix together until thickened. Pour over the cream cheese layer.
Spread your remaining Cool Whip over the top and refrigerate.

My grandma made this BUT she also put a layer of chocolate pudding also. So it was chocolate and pistachio dessert. One of my favorites!!!

Making this for the second time- my family loved it!
My family always makes this on holiday it's a family recipe. I told them about this video and they were so surprised that it was spot on like the family recipe. The only difference is in the cream cheese filling we add 1/4 tat of vanilla extract
My great grandmother Eva left this recipe in her recipe book she made and duplicated for everyone in the family as a gift one year before she passed we fight over this dessert during thanksgiving and Christmas lol

Oh, i've had something similar to this at a church potluck. It had graham crackers, flaked coconut, whipped cream, and pistachio pudding. Quite tasty but very decadent.

I only just recently started getting actual decent internet connection lol. I didn't know it, but my modem had been broken for about a month or so, so I gave up even looking at YT videos because it was so frustrating to get that circle of death. I just replaced the modem, so I need to try hard to get back to watching. But from what I can see, YT seems to be working okay.
