I felt so bad for Luxx's teacher, she seemed so on board and excited for what was happening. Like BQ said she was really pretty so Luxx did a good job in that regard, but you could definitely see how little guidance Luxx gave her teacher with how much she kept looking at Luxx throughout the runway.
luxx was so immature. I know she's young but I am too and if I can pretend I'm happy and be polite to a person offering herself to the clown show rpdr puts her through, luxx should be able to do so too. but this turned into the HARDEST challenge for her once she wasn't happy with her partner and she showed throughout the whole episode shamelessly. her parts are just unwatchable.
Agreed. I thought it was just a bit (naturally cocky but played up for TV and possibly played up even more as part of a drag personality or something?). But this episode... well, the only bonding we saw them do was the teacher taking initiative. And I'm sure there was more to, and I'm sure Luxx wasn't completely like what we saw, or at least not the whole time, but... well, it's not a good look from what we DID see.
I also saw the comparison to Jan, where the producers actively try to break the spirit of a person that wants it too much. It's unethical imo. Breaking someone for clicks
@@Smarterthanyew I don't think people are saying she should have won- they're saying there were weeks that she should have placed HIGH or maybe even safe, but was in the bottom- like this week and the Rusical. Other than her runway look, she was great in the challenge. All the queens were, but she was definitely stronger than Salina, Luxx, and MIB in the Rusical for sure and still was bottom 2. That's some riggery that people are talking about.
I really think mistress should’ve just swapped what colour boas they each had. It’d make the silhouettes much stronger - particularly on the black dress, which just kinda… blends in and ends up looking like nothing on screen.
In addition to that, MIB in that bright mint color made her stand out instead of the teacher.. And in the past, people have been negatively critiqued for making themselves look better than their partner.
I couldn't disagree more. If she swapped the boas, she would've just looked even closer to Alaska's makeover challenge from AS2. Look it up, it's uncanny
They did Loosey so wrong in this episode. It's obvious that they want her out, but this is not the episode for it because it's unjustifiable... She completely nailed the challenge! Shameful.
After some many seasons, the judges' expectations about the makeover challenge are still a mystery. And by that I mean a perfect opportunity to put whoever they want in the bottom
They do that literally in every challenge, they used to try to be at least somewhat convincing but since Gorgeous won that desing challenge with a piece of fabric and some cookie cutters they are absolutely shameless about rigging the winner and the bottom placements.

I'm so touched by the attention Sasha gives to her various partners, whoever they are. She followed her interviewee in the kitchen awhile back, tossing her cards aside rather than insisting on her own way; she took the smaller part, and the male one at that, in the rusical; and now she's padding to support her makeover challenge teacher although she really doesn't need to. What a sweetheart. Miss Congeniality?
I think Mistress got an extra long runway to justify her safe. I think she should have been in the bottom over Loosey, but Michelle's comment was Lala wasn't serving as much as the other ladies and Mistress' daughter was giving the full fantasy. I think they had to give Mistress this edit to justify keeping her and eliminating Loosey.
okay my hot take is that the producers are 100% aware of the fact that they are making people root for loosey by giving her a poor edit. this is the plan. give her a bad edit/track record, make fans mad at her expense, put in just enough crumbs of her being mistreated in the edit (like the guest judge saying she did really well this episode even though she was in the bottom) to really drive home the point, and then watch as the outraged engagement on social media rolls in. then they can bring her back for all-stars, give her a better edit, and fans will freak out about her redemption and bring in MORE engagement. this is how this works

It really feels like they took Loosey and purposefully turned her into a Jan by constantly denying her any wins, and any proper acknowledgement of her skill. They wanted to give someone else the Jan edit because it made for 'good' TV, but it's SUCH a horrible thing to do to someone...

Y’all need to realize when loosey were robbed of wins it was always given to the favs …. I don’t think they’re purposely targeting loosey but definitely giving favoritism which caused the queens for example luxx and loosey to fight who was the 2nd j doubt that if one of them had won those wins and not the fav their wouldn’t be arguing for that…
I am gonna say this... I didn't like Loosey at the begining but watching everyone ganging against her it makes root for her. Also I think she has been done dirty by the competition, her bottom placements are questionable and she was robbed during the interview challenge.
Loosey probably knew it didnt matter what she did because producers obviously wanted to send her home. It's disgusting honestly. I dont understand how Mistress and Luxx went longer than her when she had the most wins this season and should have gotten more.
And then you watch her interview with Michele and realize that it was all her and not production. How can you blame how unlikable and arrogant she came off in that interview on an edit?

Tbh I was hoping Loosey would win over Luxx in the lip sync. Luxx did her teacher so bad, didn’t even get to know or bond with her. Loosey really took care of her partner and I feel even did better than Mistress
So, Luxx said that Loosey's look is generic, but when tasked with "family resemblance," it made me reflect... what is Luxx's signature? What could she have done to create a family resemblance given her drag? Isn't *that* the definition of generic?

Luxx does "real girl, model", referential drag. Like SEVERAL queens before her (Aquaria, Val, Naomi, Symone, Sagittaria, etc.) So Luxx could also be seen as "generic" because she has a very common, trendy style of drag.

I don't think she should have won every episode but she should have been in the top this and the previous episode instead of the bottom - just based on how well she did in the challenges.

The most successful queens from the show has much more in the personality department than in the looks. Unfortunately for Loosey she may have what it takes to win challenges but not a likable and charismatic personality to foster the level of success they are looking for.
I didn’t see an attitude tbh. She defended herself like all other queens do, but she was considered delusional for it. The whole thing reminds me of Jinxx vs Alaskatox, except production was on Jinxxs side during that season. This season, everyone seemed to be against Loosey. Loosey got a bad edit, but I think if they gave her a more favourable one, she’d be considered the city girls Trixie Mattel.

I hope she can parlay her Drag Race exposure into something really good because she does a lot of things really well. Her interview segment and Snatch Game were so good i hope she can hone in on THOSE skills and take it into the world in a big way.
Production really did Loosey dirty - it’s almost hard to watch Rupaul’s when they keep sending queens home for narrative reasons rather than their actual output on the challenges
i am glad that someone finally clocked that they didnt know the lyrics. i wasnt a fan of lucy but she knew the lyrics more and emoted better than luxx. if luxx knew the lyrics it could have been a slaughter but it ended up being down to whatever producers wanted.
Bfr luxx only messed up some of the lyric but that was bc she was going fats around the stage and the kind of song but loosey was very much going slower which made her catch up the song easier … the queens don’t have much time to know songs by heart unless they’re familiar with them…. Either way if you wanted loosey staying just say that cause luxx was much more enjoyable in the lipsync…. Either way it doesn’t fckng matter the producers weren’t gonna crown either of them anyways as sad that sound had there Ben any favorites in the season to be more specific If Sasha and Anetra weren’t on the season they definitely would’ve been the top 2 they’re both really good they’re frenemies and are both competitive… since when the cast was announced I knew it was gonna be a mess .and it was very predictable would the producers would keep for the tops
As a history teacher in training, the support is appreciated because everything is turning people away from the field and for good reason. Teachers try to do fun things, want to have nice classrooms, and genuinely enjoy teaching. Politicians and Conservatives are making our lives a living hell with these book bans and curriculum restrictions - especially in the history branch. The whole education program in the U.S. is under attack by people who are uneducated.
she looked beautiful! but to be fair, it wasn’t really giving Colby family? she literally said she never pads, so it just seemed odd (to me at least) that in a family resemblance challenge she would do something that she never usually does.
@@anikam3526 She said her teacher wanted the full fantasy, padding included. But to be fair, I think it's a good tactic to bring a dress that needs padding because you never know which body shape you might get, so padding can help mitigate that.
@@igotbeans yes, i understand why she did it, but i just thought it was not really on brand. i think sasha is an icon but it’s like people are afraid to criticize her in any way. for anyone else, i think the judges would have mentioned that the padding was a new addition and seemed out of place with what sasha has been showing thus far. that’s not to say that she didn’t slay it though, and that it’s amazing she gave her teacher the full fantasy:)
I loved it. She wanted to try something different and she did! That’s the kind of queen I love, one that’s down for anything fun. It doesn’t matter her aesthetic or the type of drag she does. This one episode doesn’t change her brand. Plus she made her teacher happy!
I did not enjoy Luxx in the lipsync. I felt like she kept deliberately getting in front of Loosey and it made me not want to watch her even though she was giving more to her performance than her competitor.
She was also just kinda...flailing around. It seemed very uncontrolled and try hard instead of intentional and confident. I generally have really enjoyed Lux this season, but she came across very unlikeable this episode and her age and inexperience really showed.
I’m sorry but Luxx’s lip sync left me physically cringing 😭😭 she literally did EVERY move she knows without even properly knowing the lyrics, and those dips and jumps were sooooo crunchy 😭😭
I saw someone said that Luxx does have the ability to dance. But her moves are a bit spastic and all over the place as opposed to controlled. So it looks messy.

I’m really gagged how no one is clocking how poor MIB’s makeover is compared to everyone else. I’m not saying it was horrible but if we/judges are “picking hairs” then why not clock Ms. Tang’s brows or the different color dresses. Especially how much the Black dress was washed away with the stage lights. It wasn’t special - just didn’t hold up compared to Loosey, Sasha & Anetra. For that reason, I think MIB should’ve been in the bottom instead of Loosey - even though, I don’t even like Loosey. Fair is fair. Also, Loosey knew more lyrics than Luxx did in that lip sync.
i’m on my period so seeing anetra and her teacher be like “what’s your background?” “filipino and white” “ME TOO!!!” BECAUSE IM ALSO FILIPINO AND WHITE!!! i love it so much :( on tv, they always white wash mixed people and it’s so nice to just see me on tv, in all of our asianness. same to manila luzon!
The only thing about Sasha’s makeover that I didn’t was the colour of the mesh that Sasha used. That’s literally it. I wish it was a few shades darker.
I also found the lenght of the dress on her makeover partner to be a but awkward. It should have hit the floor like Sasha's or been a full on mini dress. Like it is, the lenght is kind of matronly. Overall a great makeover though.
I believe I remember from a previous season where this same situation occurred, that it’s often the stage lights and cameras that make it look lighter than it is, and that in person it’s not that noticeable.
I was reading an article yesterday about "edits" on the show and how the producers seemed to try to get every season's contestants to fit into neat little boxes. The villain edit, the delusional edit, Etc. I wish they would just let everybody be who they our and let us see more of who they are!
Yes!!! It's wild to me that girls like Spice and Malaysia got the "show versatility" critique. But nothing (that made it to air, at least) about Anetra's bodysuits 😂 Maybe it's favoritism, who knows
I'm going to have to agree. I don't know what it is about her but I enjoy her looks, hell, I even love them mostly (this episode was weaker) but I absolutely get uncomfortable watching her lip sync. Every lip sync we've seen of Luxx to me kind of was weird to me and always really weak in my eyes and contrary to what the judges said, none of them were wins in my book (I actually full on expected her to be the one to go home in the lip sync lalaparuza smackdown if Spice was saved again). I mean, this one was hardly even a lip sync to begin with. You could clearly tell that she moved her had frantically around so it's hard to see her lips and the lack of.. lip syncing. She didn't know half the words to this song. I *personally* would have given this a double sashay if it was up to my judging..

16:00 Luxx’s teacher, Mrs Reyes isn’t “white” as far as I know; I’d say she’s a POC. Not the same shade as Luxx of course. Luxx being such a DR fan, she knew better in terms of what was expected in family resemblance. And that belt she was wearing was to hide her tights waist band (judges had come for Kerri Colby last season for that). Mrs Reyes looked great; and it just looks like Luxx just cut a few pieces of fabric and wrap them around her body as if she ran out of time to do a proper gown as she did for Mrs Reyes. I also think that Luxx might have preferred a younger candidate more than skin tone.
I didn’t like how Luxx kept inferring that her teacher wasn’t pretty by saying she got the “wrong choice” or “hardest challenge”. Along with the way Luxx hardly related to Ms Azul until the very end, it just rubbed me the wrong way.
I didn’t think she meant that her teacher wasn’t beautiful, but they were different skin tones, so the makeup would be harder; it would be harder to make a family resemblance.

Also, Mistress and and Ms Tang (sp?) Did not have the same skin tone either. Many queens in the past have gotten partnered with someone with a different skin tone and have killed. Luxx was being salty and it unfortunately took away from the experience her teacher could have had
That lipsync was so cringe. Luxx did too much and was intentionally intimidating Loosey by taking away her space. I would guess that her fighting back tears at the end was partly due to that. There’ve been other straight-up murders on the dance floor (Denali vs Kimora comes to mind), but those were just one queen cleanly outperforming the other. This was Luxx bullying Loosey into submission, which is in-line with her character really. Loosey and Luxx are cut from the same cloth, but just project their insecurities differently. Most of the season, I felt Loosey did it to herself, she got the avalanche careening downhill when she overtook Mistress’ win by saying she was annoyed that she didn’t get the win because she thought she did well. It was unprompted. The time Loosey goaded Mistress by saying “Are you gonna attack her?” when Marcia x3 thought she was gonna be in the top - Sasha legit asked Marcia how she was feeling. It was prompted. Again, Loosey not doing herself any favours. Loosey opening up to Salina about her past gave a lot of insight into her behaviour, but then she had to go and say she led her and Luxx to a win. She opened herself up to this edit and provided them with the material, but the show tried to tell us she was the only one somehow. Luxx was and is just as delusional, but knows how and when to say things, she knows how to play to an audience. Mistress knows how to keep them both firmly under her thumb, but we’ve seen what happens when she can’t body a person into submission (like Love Connie), she’s completely flustered. Which is why it’s either Anetra or Sasha that will win. I adore Mistress and she has been the greatest queen to grace the show (by way of being great TV) in a while, which is why she’s primed for All Stars down the road. They want her back, and she’ll be back. I see an Anetra/Sasha rematch with Anetra carrying that torch in the end. God why do I write these novels.
I love Anetra, but how is Michelle gonna say Loosey had no chemistry with her partner, whe Anetra's partner looked terrified the whole runway, doesnt make sense...
Love your recaps! I think what blew me away the most is Anetra MADE those outfits in the workroom. I fully assumed she brought them from home, but they talked about it at Roscoes that she made the looks there.
i used to love luxx but honestly i just cant stand her anymore. the way she treated her teacher just put me off entirely, and that lip synch.... dear lord. she was obnoxiously flailing around that stage and kept moving in front of loosey. she looked pathetic and desperate, not confident and polished like she usually does. poor loosey though, she doesn't deserve the hate she's been getting
I absolutely agree. I did not view this as "casual shade" that is common in Drag. It was bullying (from the edit that we've seen, of course more could have happened but the edit DEFINITELY showed active bullying towards Loosey from MIB and Luxx)

Imma just put my bets in now for a double crowning between Sasha and Anetra - I think this is the best time for it, especially if it's a lip sync for the crown between them two. At the very least, they'll crown Sasha. There's no way they won't crown Sasha in some way.

When we think about the logistics finding shoes that both fit the makeover queen and she can walk in and matches her outfit in one week. Not enough time in the day with everything else. So I think shoes here are ok to let pass
In all honesty, I think this whole season seems so rigged. I love this show, but I am frustrated with the MTV version. Hopefully, next season is better.

There's a reason they do this makeover episode near the end because they can just put whoever they want in the bottom usually. I mean lux was clearly in the bottom but the rest of them you could just say any old thing and put them down in the bottom. I think looking more objectively it probably should have been mistress but that makes zero sense with the edit they've been feeding us
I may not share this opinion with many, idk, but I personally liked what Loosey presented more than I liked Mistresses. Looseys teacher did seem a little awkward, but I liked the outfits better for some reason. in my world mistress and luxx were the bottom 2
I also thought that mistress’ teacher seemed more awkward than loosey’s teacher. Also mistress’ teachers dress was soooo dark it just blended into the stage.

i think even though Loosey's look had flaws (the fabric and shoes), she still made her partner shine and look exactly like her. MIB overshadowed her partner and Luxx just didn't meet the brief.
While I agree with you that viewers should be smart enough to know the difference between TV reality and real life, and avoid harassing people because of what they've seen on a show, I still don't think they are entirely to blame. First of all, the production and the judges. This season was one of the worst in terms of harassment. Production deliberately wanted the public to see Loosey as delusional, which was certainly reinforced by the other queens, even though she proved time and time again that she was more talented than many of them. And I felt like they were pushing her more and more, episode after episode, which made me very uncomfortable watching the show. In the end, the viewer was fed this story, and that's why the production is mainly to blame. Of course, it goes to say that no one should harass anyone, on social media or anywhere else, but that's the hatred the production created with this storyline. The moral of this season is: yes, you can bully someone to their loss, as long as it's entertaining. Which is awful.
Loosey might’ve been delusional in some things she said, but let’s not forget that she could’ve won like 4-5 maxi challenges including both challenges she was in the bottom 2 for. Loosey is an exceptional drag queen and she deserves as much love as everybody else.❤️
I love Anetra and want her to win but her runways are all very similar. She just wore another bodysuit with those same two colors two weeks ago for Rip Her To Shreds.
Anetra made most of her outfits herself because she didn't have a very large budget. She's mentioned being worried about competing with queens who had the money to spend on more elaborate looks. So I think that has a lot to do with her looks being similar is that she's made them all herself
The history of Makeover's BS judging continues, at this point they only use it as an excuse to either get rid of queens or just shoot them down from a chance at the crown
I been a casual Drag Race watcher for years so i'm not new to the crazy drag fans but this season.... girl. It's been one, if not the most hardcore, in terms of hate towards the queens. Maybe its because of the 45minute edit that cuts a lot of the context but the queens this season have been harrased non stop and its sad to see them explaining themselves every single episode so they dont get cyber bullyed. Drag Race fans need to take it down a notch and touch some grass
I absolutely ADORE mistress and would totally be happy if she won, but I truly did not care for her makeover. The makeup on Madam Thang was way too dark and vampy compared to Mistress and the color choice for the dress was so overwhelmingly dark you really couldn’t see any body. She was a bottom placement for me this episode along with Luxx. Sasha, Anetra, and Loosey all did much better imo and even though Loosey’s attitude toward “winning” kinda rubbed me the wrong way and both Luxx and Mistress deserve their spots in the top 4, I agree with Bussy and believe Loosey was set up to go home this episode. But Luxx definitely slayed Loosey in that lip sync.
Mistresses teacher had a great runway, but what she was wearing was so black I couldn't see anything... which is funny because Ross was saying 'it's all about the details' She looked like a locked character in a lego game
I've always hated the makeover challenge because it's the easiest for the producers to manipulate the outcome. The judges can say literally anything about the looks and "family resemblance" to create the narrative they need to choose a top 4.

I feel like those who get mad at the shade mistress throws, don't actually know what drag is/was. Shade litreally comes with it, if you watch old drag race episodes the shade was even harsher and more intense lol. I didn't like Loosey's make-over honestly, and called her being in the bottom with Luxx after the runway/before critiques. Had she swapped her and her teacher's dresses it would have been so much better--her teacher's dress was just...boring. But it would have looked a lot better tailored to Loosey. There was just SO MUCH PINK and not enough pattern.
As much as I love Loosey and how eerily similar she painted her teacher, I do think that Sasha, Mistress and Anetra did a better job at the challenge when it comes to the garments/styling. She didn't do a bad job at all in most challenges, I just think sometimes others were a little better. And the way it was edited at least, it didn't seem like she was being gracious towards others in those moments and very focused on herself. Still a great queen though!
Luxx and Mistress should have been btm 2 because of the challenge, and because it would have been sweet retribution for Loosey's storyline considering she had actually been doing well the entire competition, despite being (seemingly) constantly discouraged by those two.
it's interesting without having watched the ep, i don't see any resemblance between mistress's looks and they seem kinda boring? it demonstrates to me how much the full story and personality can bring to it that you don't see from just clips and photos 'cause i would've thought she might be in the bottom with luxx. glad she wasn't 'cause they both deserved to stay. also interesting to see bussy's take on the lipsync 'cause i've watched it like 4 times, i really loved luxx's performance and didn't see the "too much" at all

Luxx’s youth and naïveté really showed in this episode. She had the opportunity to bond with someone on a deeper level and she didn’t take the chance. She only really got excited to share when her teacher asked her about her. I wish we could have learned more about that teacher. And the flip side of that was mistress getting to know her teacher and sharing their experiences and see how that payed off. Same with Anetra. She took the time to meet and bond with someone who was really meek and put them at ease which helped her win that challenge. Both of those teachers were comfortable because the queens took the time to share with them on a personal level And then there’s Sasha who committed to giving the other person the experience she wanted. Sasha took a chance with that and that payed off too. It goes deeper than skin colour and what makeup is easier for you to do. It goes deeper than the competition. She missed the human side of the makeover episode.
I understand the judges about Loosey - there's something about her that feels too calculated instead of just heart and soul - almost the exact same situation as Jan Sport and she even got pissed like her every time she didn't win a challenge...
To me, she doesn’t feel as authentic as the others. I may be wrong, but I agree she feels strategic and calculated, not her true self. In reality tv, we connect with people who have flaws like ours, who share their stories, who we see ourselves in. I feel like people have trouble connecting with her because she has such a perfectionism front.
Honestly, she’s just trying not to get a “bad” edit. After 15 seasons and all the others, the queens know they’re going to be edited. Loosey tried all season to give what she thought everyone wanted/would be ok with. It was the same when she said Salina based on track record.. trying to be diplomatic. Production picked up on that and ran with it and cracked her every chance they got - whether through placements/judgments or through the other queens (MIB and Luxx). This season has been really hard to watch for SO many reasons.
My thing with the Loosey pick is they all literally did really well. Anetra edged over a little and got the win (well deserved. I adore Anetra). Luxx was the obvious one for the bottom this week. Someone has to join her... and since everyone did well, might as well go with the one who make the most sense storyline wise. On the other hand, I really do think when its this close, its really does come down to who the judges like more, whose personality really captivate them. Unfortunately Loosey just didn't "let loose" enough to show them something they can obsess over. I don't have any hate towards her. I think she's great but there is something really uptight about her. I feel bad that's affecting her bc I don't think she choose to be that way. Some people just built that way through life. Like one of those annoying perfectionist/ teachers pet who take everything way too seriously and suck the air out of the room sometimes. They literally can't help themselves. Usually it's a defense mechanism in lots of ways, so I don't fault her or think bad of it. It actually can help you be resilient and develop great skills. However, in this setting of a tv show and being judged on likeability? I don't think it works out for her. Also in an art form that's all about being free and express yourself with no holding back instead of just perfection, it also means its always going to feel like something is missing. I think that's why her showing on Drag race make her drag seem "generic" to other queens. She does put her all in her craft but you can almost see her wheel turning in her mind of making sure everything is perfect and that's why she's so stressed and upset when she's told anything is off with her performance. Because she doesn't allow imperfection, she will take it harder than normal and get defensive easily. Just what I think. It is what it is though. I don't disagree with the judges. Really if it's Mistress or Sasha everyone will scream about how they are robbed just the same. I wish Loosey the best.
I agree so much, I don’t even think she was delusional but you could see how defeated she was each time she didn’t win and constantly comparing 2nd place wins. She came across like she wasn’t having fun and just wanted to keep proving to the judges she is an amazing queen (definitely not saying she isn’t). But everything seemed calculated and I could not tell who loosey really was, even mistress said her gripe with loosey was that she wasn’t being herself on camera and different when the cameras weren’t rolling. I hated how she left and the stuff luxx said when she was already defeated, just hurt to watch her being kicked when she was already down.
@@dimelachae3463 I do think based on the show, they’re really harsh on her near the end. I felt a little bad for her. Tbh I think mistress and Luxx were also genuinely not doing it to be mean or cruel. They might just be thinking they’re calling her out in a fun way and really just being honest as well. But then as she keeps letting it get to her, they just keep doing it. Although based on what mistress said, they were literally hanging out, helping with each other’s looks and what not so I’m not sure it looks as serious as ppl make it out to be or as the show make it seem. This is still just a fraction of all their interactions. I know they’re all still getting a long so I sympathize with Loosey, but I don’t think there’s any villains. Just life honestly. I hope Loosey can look back in a few years and have more perspective and grow to be more open and free with her art. She’s a very talented queen. Like ginger minj possessed a lot of similar talents as Loosey but she has that extra something and I think that’s what make her “unique”. She’s so unapologetic and as much as she polish her craft, she also prioritize connection with her audience more than perfection when she perform. You can see that she is just having fun and reacting in the moment. I hope loosey can find that in herself in the future. I look forward to see her growth.
No one else made sense for the bottom. Loosey was the only other choice w/ Luxx. Mistress' look may have been "plain" but it wasn't ugly. It wasn't a bottom look and the chemistry was undeniable. Loosey's look was questionable besides the makeup. The dresses (TO ME) were not cute. And again, they're splitting hairs.
I think this episode it was hard to have a second bottom. ;Luxe clearly was a bottom on this episode - but then who would have been the second bottom? All the other 4 were so good!
For me it was definitely MIB in the bottom. The look seemed really boring/bland to me, the teacher barely had a resemblance with her, the Dress her teacher got was translated very awkward on the runway (blended in too much, had no dimension and just looked like one big black fabric) and she WORE THE SAME DAMN WIG FOR THE 230924TH TIME IN A ROW
Don't forget that they have to rifle through hours and hours of content during production. If you act like a bully, you will come off as a bully, and you have to own it. That said.. I felt so bad for Luxx's teacher, she seemed so on board and excited for what was happening. Like BQ said she was really pretty so Luxx did a good job in that regard, but you could definitely see how little guidance Luxx gave her teacher with how much she kept looking at Luxx throughout the runway.

Other than her runway look, she was great in the challenge. All the queens were, but she was definitely stronger than Salina, Luxx, and MIB in the Rusical for sure and still was bottom 2. That's some riggery that people are talking about.

Yeah they usually don't like opposite looks (Mistress and partner), and the face paint between Loosey and her partner was exact resemblance!!
They do that literally in every challenge, they used to try to be at least somewhat convincing but since Gorgeous won that desing challenge with a piece of fabric and some cookie cutters they are absolutely shameless about rigging the winner and the bottom placements.

I think Mistress got an extra long runway to justify her safe. I think she should have been in the bottom over Loosey, but Michelle's comment was Lala wasn't serving as much as the other ladies and Mistress' daughter was giving the full fantasy. I think they had to give Mistress this edit to justify keeping her and eliminating Loosey.
okay my hot take is that the producers are 100% aware of the fact that they are making people root for loosey by giving her a poor edit. this is the plan. give her a bad edit/track record, make fans mad at her expense, put in just enough crumbs of her being mistreated in the edit (like the guest judge saying she did really well this episode even though she was in the bottom) to really drive home the point, and then watch as the outraged engagement on social media rolls in. then they can bring her back for all-stars, give her a better edit, and fans will freak out about her redemption and bring in MORE engagement. this is how this works

The most successful queens from the show has much more in the personality department than in the looks. Unfortunately for Loosey she may have what it takes to win challenges but not a likable and charismatic personality to foster the level of success they are looking for.
I am glad that Loosey is getting some love. We all know that she had talent. Her attitude was her only weakness, but we still love her!

I hope she can parlay her Drag Race exposure into something really good because she does a lot of things really well. Her interview segment and Snatch Game were so good i hope she can hone in on THOSE skills and take it into the world in a big way.

Production really did Loosey dirty - it’s almost hard to watch Rupaul’s when they keep sending queens home for narrative reasons rather than their actual output on the challenges
i am glad that someone finally clocked that they didnt know the lyrics. i wasnt a fan of lucy but she knew the lyrics more and emoted better than luxx. if luxx knew the lyrics it could have been a slaughter but it ended up being down to whatever producers wanted.
Bfr luxx only messed up some of the lyric but that was bc she was going fats around the stage and the kind of song but loosey was very much going slower which made her catch up the song easier … the queens don’t have much time to know songs by heart unless they’re familiar with them…. Either way if you wanted loosey staying just say that cause luxx was much more enjoyable in the lipsync…. Either way it doesn’t fckng matter the producers weren’t gonna crown either of them anyways as sad that sound had there Ben any favorites in the season to be more specific If Sasha and Anetra weren’t on the season they definitely would’ve been the top 2 they’re both really good they’re frenemies and are both competitive… since when the cast was announced I knew it was gonna be a mess .and it was very predictable would the producers would keep for the tops

As a history teacher in training, the support is appreciated because everything is turning people away from the field and for good reason. Teachers try to do fun things, want to have nice classrooms, and genuinely enjoy teaching. Politicians and Conservatives are making our lives a living hell with these book bans and curriculum restrictions - especially in the history branch. The whole education program in the U.S. is under attack by people who are uneducated.

I loved it. She wanted to try something different and she did! That’s the kind of queen I love, one that’s down for anything fun. It doesn’t matter her aesthetic or the type of drag she does. This one episode doesn’t change her brand. Plus she made her teacher happy!
I did not enjoy Luxx in the lipsync. I felt like she kept deliberately getting in front of Loosey and it made me not want to watch her even though she was giving more to her performance than her competitor.
She was also just kinda...flailing around. It seemed very uncontrolled and try hard instead of intentional and confident. I generally have really enjoyed Lux this season, but she came across very unlikeable this episode and her age and inexperience really showed.

I’m really gagged how no one is clocking how poor MIB’s makeover is compared to everyone else. I’m not saying it was horrible but if we/judges are “picking hairs” then why not clock Ms. Tang’s brows or the different color dresses. Especially how much the Black dress was washed away with the stage lights. It wasn’t special - just didn’t hold up compared to Loosey, Sasha & Anetra. For that reason, I think MIB should’ve been in the bottom instead of Loosey - even though, I don’t even like Loosey. Fair is fair.

The only thing about Sasha’s makeover that I didn’t was the colour of the mesh that Sasha used. That’s literally it. I wish it was a few shades darker.
I also found the lenght of the dress on her makeover partner to be a but awkward. It should have hit the floor like Sasha's or been a full on mini dress. Like it is, the lenght is kind of matronly.
Overall a great makeover though.
I believe I remember from a previous season where this same situation occurred, that it’s often the stage lights and cameras that make it look lighter than it is, and that in person it’s not that noticeable.
I was reading an article yesterday about "edits" on the show and how the producers seemed to try to get every season's contestants to fit into neat little boxes. The villain edit, the delusional edit, Etc. I wish they would just let everybody be who they our and let us see more of who they are!
Is it just me or haven't the judges realized Anetra has been wearing jump suits for every runway?

Yes!!! It's wild to me that girls like Spice and Malaysia got the "show versatility" critique. But nothing (that made it to air, at least) about Anetra's bodysuits 😂 Maybe it's favoritism, who knows

I'm going to have to agree. I don't know what it is about her but I enjoy her looks, hell, I even love them mostly (this episode was weaker) but I absolutely get uncomfortable watching her lip sync. Every lip sync we've seen of Luxx to me kind of was weird to me and always really weak in my eyes and contrary to what the judges said, none of them were wins in my book (I actually full on expected her to be the one to go home in the lip sync lalaparuza smackdown if Spice was saved again). I mean, this one was hardly even a lip sync to begin with. You could clearly tell that she moved her had frantically around so it's hard to see her lips and the lack of.. lip syncing. She didn't know half the words to this song. I *personally* would have given this a double sashay if it was up to my judging..
these “fans” will literally bully a queen, like go to her socials & send death threats. how can you call anyone else a bully while doing all of this? all over a TV SHOW?? the call is coming from inside the house!!!! these people aren’t mature enough to be watching this show idc what anyone says.
Lucy ate & highkey should’ve been a top! Those shoes are forgivable & on par w/ the rest of the teacher.

16:00 Luxx’s teacher, Mrs Reyes isn’t “white” as far as I know; I’d say she’s a POC. Not the same shade as Luxx of course. Luxx being such a DR fan, she knew better in terms of what was expected in family resemblance. And that belt she was wearing was to hide her tights waist band (judges had come for Kerri Colby last season for that). Mrs Reyes looked great; and it just looks like Luxx just cut a few pieces of fabric and wrap them around her body as if she ran out of time to do a proper gown as she did for Mrs Reyes. I also think that Luxx might have preferred a younger candidate more than skin tone.
I get what you’re saying about Luxx and her teacher but I think we need to remember ethnicity and race are different.
I didn’t like how Luxx kept inferring that her teacher wasn’t pretty by saying she got the “wrong choice” or “hardest challenge”. Along with the way Luxx hardly related to Ms Azul until the very end, it just rubbed me the wrong way.
I didn’t think she meant that her teacher wasn’t beautiful, but they were different skin tones, so the makeup would be harder; it would be harder to make a family resemblance.

Also, Mistress and and Ms Tang (sp?) Did not have the same skin tone either. Many queens in the past have gotten partnered with someone with a different skin tone and have killed. Luxx was being salty and it unfortunately took away from the experience her teacher could have had
That lipsync was so cringe. Luxx did too much and was intentionally intimidating Loosey by taking away her space. I would guess that her fighting back tears at the end was partly due to that. There’ve been other straight-up murders on the dance floor (Denali vs Kimora comes to mind), but those were just one queen cleanly outperforming the other. This was Luxx bullying Loosey into submission, which is in-line with her character really. Loosey and Luxx are cut from the same cloth, but just project their insecurities differently.
Most of the season, I felt Loosey did it to herself, she got the avalanche careening downhill when she overtook Mistress’ win by saying she was annoyed that she didn’t get the win because she thought she did well. It was unprompted. The time Loosey goaded Mistress by saying “Are you gonna attack her?” when Marcia x3 thought she was gonna be in the top - Sasha legit asked Marcia how she was feeling. It was prompted. Again, Loosey not doing herself any favours. Loosey opening up to Salina about her past gave a lot of insight into her behaviour, but then she had to go and say she led her and Luxx to a win. She opened herself up to this edit and provided them with the material, but the show tried to tell us she was the only one somehow. Luxx was and is just as delusional, but knows how and when to say things, she knows how to play to an audience. Mistress knows how to keep them both firmly under her thumb, but we’ve seen what happens when she can’t body a person into submission (like Love Connie), she’s completely flustered.
Which is why it’s either Anetra or Sasha that will win. I adore Mistress and she has been the greatest queen to grace the show (by way of being great TV) in a while, which is why she’s primed for All Stars down the road. They want her back, and she’ll be back. I see an Anetra/Sasha rematch with Anetra carrying that torch in the end.

I absolutely agree. I did not view this as "casual shade" that is common in Drag. It was bullying (from the edit that we've seen, of course more could have happened but the edit DEFINITELY showed active bullying towards Loosey from MIB and Luxx)

Imma just put my bets in now for a double crowning between Sasha and Anetra - I think this is the best time for it, especially if it's a lip sync for the crown between them two. At the very least, they'll crown Sasha. There's no way they won't crown Sasha in some way.

Somebody in production this season really had it out for Loosey. They did her dirty.
When we think about the logistics finding shoes that both fit the makeover queen and she can walk in and matches her outfit in one week. Not enough time in the day with everything else. So I think shoes here are ok to let pass
In all honesty, I think this whole season seems so rigged. I love this show, but I am frustrated with the MTV version. Hopefully, next season is better.

There's a reason they do this makeover episode near the end because they can just put whoever they want in the bottom usually. I mean lux was clearly in the bottom but the rest of them you could just say any old thing and put them down in the bottom. I think looking more objectively it probably should have been mistress but that makes zero sense with the edit they've been feeding us

I may not share this opinion with many, idk, but I personally liked what Loosey presented more than I liked Mistresses. Looseys teacher did seem a little awkward, but I liked the outfits better for some reason. in my world mistress and luxx were the bottom 2
I also thought that mistress’ teacher seemed more awkward than loosey’s teacher. Also mistress’ teachers dress was soooo dark it just blended into the stage.

i think even though Loosey's look had flaws (the fabric and shoes), she still made her partner shine and look exactly like her. MIB overshadowed her partner and Luxx just didn't meet the brief.

While I agree with you that viewers should be smart enough to know the difference between TV reality and real life, and avoid harassing people because of what they've seen on a show, I still don't think they are entirely to blame. First of all, the production and the judges. This season was one of the worst in terms of harassment. Production deliberately wanted the public to see Loosey as delusional, which was certainly reinforced by the other queens, even though she proved time and time again that she was more talented than many of them. And I felt like they were pushing her more and more, episode after episode, which made me very uncomfortable watching the show. In the end, the viewer was fed this story, and that's why the production is mainly to blame. Of course, it goes to say that no one should harass anyone, on social media or anywhere else, but that's the hatred the production created with this storyline. The moral of this season is: yes, you can bully someone to their loss, as long as it's entertaining. Which is awful.

Anetra made most of her outfits herself because she didn't have a very large budget. She's mentioned being worried about competing with queens who had the money to spend on more elaborate looks. So I think that has a lot to do with her looks being similar is that she's made them all herself

I been a casual Drag Race watcher for years so i'm not new to the crazy drag fans but this season.... girl. It's been one, if not the most hardcore, in terms of hate towards the queens. Maybe its because of the 45minute edit that cuts a lot of the context but the queens this season have been harrased non stop and its sad to see them explaining themselves every single episode so they dont get cyber bullyed. Drag Race fans need to take it down a notch and touch some grass
I absolutely ADORE mistress and would totally be happy if she won, but I truly did not care for her makeover. The makeup on Madam Thang was way too dark and vampy compared to Mistress and the color choice for the dress was so overwhelmingly dark you really couldn’t see any body. She was a bottom placement for me this episode along with Luxx. Sasha, Anetra, and Loosey all did much better imo and even though Loosey’s attitude toward “winning” kinda rubbed me the wrong way and both Luxx and Mistress deserve their spots in the top 4, I agree with Bussy and believe Loosey was set up to go home this episode. But Luxx definitely slayed Loosey in that lip sync.

I've always hated the makeover challenge because it's the easiest for the producers to manipulate the outcome. The judges can say literally anything about the looks and "family resemblance" to create the narrative they need to choose a top 4.

I TOO at first thought Lala was Loosey when they turned around!! So props for that aspect of the assignment.

Shade litreally comes with it, if you watch old drag race episodes the shade was even harsher and more intense lol. I didn't like Loosey's make-over honestly, and called her being in the bottom with Luxx after the runway/before critiques. Had she swapped her and her teacher's dresses it would have been so much better--her teacher's dress was just...boring. But it would have looked a lot better tailored to Loosey. There was just SO MUCH PINK and not enough pattern.
As much as I love Loosey and how eerily similar she painted her teacher, I do think that Sasha, Mistress and Anetra did a better job at the challenge when it comes to the garments/styling. She didn't do a bad job at all in most challenges, I just think sometimes others were a little better. And the way it was edited at least, it didn't seem like she was being gracious towards others in those moments and very focused on herself. Still a great queen though!
Luxx and Mistress should have been btm 2 because of the challenge, and because it would have been sweet retribution for Loosey's storyline considering she had actually been doing well the entire competition, despite being (seemingly) constantly discouraged by those two.

Luxx’s youth and naïveté really showed in this episode.
She had the opportunity to bond with someone on a deeper level and she didn’t take the chance.
She only really got excited to share when her teacher asked her about her.
I wish we could have learned more about that teacher.
And the flip side of that was mistress getting to know her teacher and sharing their experiences and see how that payed off.
Same with Anetra. She took the time to meet and bond with someone who was really meek and put them at ease which helped her win that challenge.
Both of those teachers were comfortable because the queens took the time to share with them on a personal level
And then there’s Sasha who committed to giving the other person the experience she wanted. Sasha took a chance with that and that payed off too.
It goes deeper than skin colour and what makeup is easier for you to do. It goes deeper than the competition.
She missed the human side of the makeover episode.

I understand the judges about Loosey - there's something about her that feels too calculated instead of just heart and soul - almost the exact same situation as Jan Sport and she even got pissed like her every time she didn't win a challenge...
To me, she doesn’t feel as authentic as the others. I may be wrong, but I agree she feels strategic and calculated, not her true self. In reality tv, we connect with people who have flaws like ours, who share their stories, who we see ourselves in. I feel like people have trouble connecting with her because she has such a perfectionism front.

Honestly, she’s just trying not to get a “bad” edit. After 15 seasons and all the others, the queens know they’re going to be edited. Loosey tried all season to give what she thought everyone wanted/would be ok with. It was the same when she said Salina based on track record.. trying to be diplomatic. Production picked up on that and ran with it and cracked her every chance they got - whether through placements/judgments or through the other queens (MIB and Luxx). This season has been really hard to watch for SO many reasons.
Anetra and Elektra were so damn cute. Not only was the look good but I think the height difference was also really what made it cute lol

My thing with the Loosey pick is they all literally did really well. Anetra edged over a little and got the win (well deserved. I adore Anetra). Luxx was the obvious one for the bottom this week. Someone has to join her... and since everyone did well, might as well go with the one who make the most sense storyline wise. On the other hand, I really do think when its this close, its really does come down to who the judges like more, whose personality really captivate them. Unfortunately Loosey just didn't "let loose" enough to show them something they can obsess over. I don't have any hate towards her. I think she's great but there is something really uptight about her. I feel bad that's affecting her bc I don't think she choose to be that way. Some people just built that way through life. Like one of those annoying perfectionist/ teachers pet who take everything way too seriously and suck the air out of the room sometimes. They literally can't help themselves. Usually it's a defense mechanism in lots of ways, so I don't fault her or think bad of it. It actually can help you be resilient and develop great skills. However, in this setting of a tv show and being judged on likeability? I don't think it works out for her. Also in an art form that's all about being free and express yourself with no holding back instead of just perfection, it also means its always going to feel like something is missing. I think that's why her showing on Drag race make her drag seem "generic" to other queens. She does put her all in her craft but you can almost see her wheel turning in her mind of making sure everything is perfect and that's why she's so stressed and upset when she's told anything is off with her performance. Because she doesn't allow imperfection, she will take it harder than normal and get defensive easily. Just what I think. It is what it is though. I don't disagree with the judges. Really if it's Mistress or Sasha everyone will scream about how they are robbed just the same. I wish Loosey the best.

She came across like she wasn’t having fun and just wanted to keep proving to the judges she is an amazing queen (definitely not saying she isn’t). But everything seemed calculated and I could not tell who loosey really was, even mistress said her gripe with loosey was that she wasn’t being herself on camera and different when the cameras weren’t rolling. I hated how she left and the stuff luxx said when she was already defeated, just hurt to watch her being kicked when she was already down.

Although based on what mistress said, they were literally hanging out, helping with each other’s looks and what not so I’m not sure it looks as serious as ppl make it out to be or as the show make it seem. This is still just a fraction of all their interactions. I know they’re all still getting a long so I sympathize with Loosey, but I don’t think there’s any villains. Just life honestly. I hope Loosey can look back in a few years and have more perspective and grow to be more open and free with her art. She’s a very talented queen. Like ginger minj possessed a lot of similar talents as Loosey but she has that extra something and I think that’s what make her “unique”. She’s so unapologetic and as much as she polish her craft, she also prioritize connection with her audience more than perfection when she perform. You can see that she is just having fun and reacting in the moment. I hope loosey can find that in herself in the future. I look forward to see her growth.
No one else made sense for the bottom. Loosey was the only other choice w/ Luxx. Mistress' look may have been "plain" but it wasn't ugly. It wasn't a bottom look and the chemistry was undeniable. Loosey's look was questionable besides the makeup. The dresses (TO ME) were not cute. And again, they're splitting hairs.
I think this episode it was hard to have a second bottom. ;Luxe clearly was a bottom on this episode - but then who would have been the second bottom? All the other 4 were so good!
For me it was definitely MIB in the bottom. The look seemed really boring/bland to me, the teacher barely had a resemblance with her, the Dress her teacher got was translated very awkward on the runway (blended in too much, had no dimension and just looked like one big black fabric) and she WORE THE SAME DAMN WIG FOR THE 230924TH TIME IN A ROW
Don't forget that they have to rifle through hours and hours of content during production. If you act like a bully, you will come off as a bully, and you have to own it. That said.. I do not join in on the attacks because if I don't like what someone creates, I just don't show up for them, and that's enough. I love your channel.. thank you for the content.
