I had the pleasure of using a pair of these speakers for a live outdoors performance by Andrea Bocelli for an audience of roughly 100. They were the only speakers in use, 40’ apart facing directly forward and not toed in at all. Artists were on IEMs. I worked with them for 2 days and was never disappointed by the response, the polar qualities, and particularly the dynamic response. Really an ear-opener.
@@devinlsheets_alphasound The specifics might interest you. The performance was on a pool deck with the average sized pool between the performers and audience. All equipment was on the concrete of the deck, which was surrounded by thick ficus hedge about 8’ tall. The speakers were at the corners of the pool deck space so all audience was between them. It was as close to ‘set and forget’ as any of the many private performances I’ve done with Andrea and orchestra tracks I played on a number of the songs were gorgeously rendered with minimal EQ.
@@artysanmobile wow that sounds like a great application for the ID84, given the long-throw capabilities of the cabinet. And how fun getting to mix for Andrea! Such beautiful music
I would love to see you cover a manufacturer’s process for developing speaker presets/crossovers specifically from lows to mids and mids to highs. I see a lot of people covering crossovers from main to sub for the end user but am always curious how manufacturers go about optimizing their products’ voicings out of the box.
I would have loved to get his thoughts on the role Nexo played in the partnership for Yamaha's powered DZR speaker range. For more affordable powered speakers, they're unbeatable. They certainly outperform QSC. I have to wonder if that has anything to do with even a little of Nexo's advising or help with design at all. Maybe it's remnants of what they learnt with their collaboration on the DXR/DSR series creation 10-12 years ago.

We have installed many of these speakers in churches but will be using them for a live outdoor gig next weekend for the first time! Very excited
