  • Figuring out what a karting suit is like with only a photo can be difficult when you're trying to buy one online. I got together a few different brands of karting suits and described them so you'd have more info when you're trying to choose one. Sorry I don't have the specific models for all of them.
    *Check with your local club or racing series for any certification requirements.

    Your videos are so informative, thank you. As a noob to karting, it is not easy to find useful info on the internet.

      +HugoMonster I hear you, that’s what this channel is all about, giving you info when you’re just getting started and growing together. I struggled finding info too and I’m glad these help! Thx for watching.

    Thanks for doing this. It's so hard to find any good images/video of kart suits and unless you have a good shop nearby it's impossible to get a idea of how thick and what material the suits are made from

    Do you look at the race certifications for these suits? Are you concerned about meeting SKUSA (as an example) requirements? Also, do you know about the cost of custom embroidery and/or screen printing and is this done at the factory level?

    • @IllegalAlienRacing
      @IllegalAlienRacing  5 лет назад

      I don't look at the certifications. I don't know the cost to embroider but my friend does it at a private business he uses that does this type of work.

      @@IllegalAlienRacing I would think that you should qualify yourself in these videos just in case someone is looking to make the investment and go beyond the club level. As for the safety certifications, they have to do with fire ratings and I suspect everyone would be interested in that. How about those interested in the Rotax program, that's in the club-level category.

      @@VerhelstAssoc Never heard of a suit having to be fire resistant for karting. From SKUSA's 2019 Rulebook:
      10.4.2.3.- Driving Suits: Must be manufactured for kart
      racing. Suit must be constructed of heavy weight, abrasion resistant nylon or leather. Driving suits must be of sufficient length to cover entire leg and ankle when in seated driving position. No portion of the leg or ankle may be exposed when in the driving position. Jacket and jeans are not permitted.

      @@IllegalAlienRacing Here's a published description of the certification rules. www.racedaysafety.com/kart-race-suit-buying-guide.html
      I believe that it is up to the race director and the race series organizer to determine what certifications are required.

    Like you said it was a “look” at suits. Not being in the sport yet, I would think you might want some fire and puncture protection. Is there a standard they have to meet?

    • @morgan-ww8ru
      @morgan-ww8ru 2 года назад

      The standard normally depends on the championship

    Although there are a few tracks near by there are no stores that deal with karts where I am. Sizing is an issue in that it seems different makes have different fits. Can you give some advice on fitment.

You can find some similar alternates though if you search for a CIK FIA LEVEL II suit on ebay, and be aware of those extra charges if you import from australia to UK ect.
