Thanks for watching!
That fencing just "fell off" the neighbors fence.... Sure it did. Lol I like your videos.
LOL ;)
You do a grate job on your repair videos. Perfecting amount of bindindyness, what I told the wife all I got was a frown!
LOL - I'm uploading another repair video now - you can show here THIS "bindiness" too ;)
Had the same plane with the same issue. What I did was install a washer in the rear most gear assembly to raise the gear up about 2 mm. Fixed it and used it till I sold in when I moved.
I love this plane, and she still lives to this day ;)
Once again Brian your brilliant nerdiness has helped me fix a nose gear for my FMS 1400mm T-28.😂😂😂 your thoroughness is unmatched and very admired good sir. What part of the country are you in? I would love to possibly fly with you someday. Thanks again for your videos. I’m definitely one of your bigger fans. You are my RC guru.😎😄
LOL, love it ...Brilliant Nerdiness...
I'm in Central Iowa, if you're ever in the area.
I want to replace my EFlite gear with the FMS suspension gear for the 1400mm...do you know if they are the same size landing gear?
I was having flashbacks of Steve from Killer Planes man! Lol, I had to bend my nose gear back but was lucky it didn’t break, I always check after each landing to make sure the wheel doesn’t touch when retracted and make it not want to deploy when I need it to which happened once and I had a little nose/chin kiss I had to touch up, now it works flawlessly, mine is on 4s and is my fastest bird in my fleet so far.
Regarding checking that the nose wheel isn't binding - EXACTLY!!! I've had the nose gear fail to lower, and that was my issue...
I have no doubt this bird would LOVE 4S, but in my case, I've always loved flying her on 3S, so never really got to serious about it. Now that I have a handicap nose gear, I'll really have to vet her before I try this new bad idea you've given me to fly her on 4000mAh 4S 60C (the packs I use for my Airbus A330-600, that don't get a lot of "exercise")
I fly my Trojan on 2200-2500 mah 4s and it’s vertical climb is rediculous, you will have to set your timer to 4mins but the speed is incredible and it still slows way down with flaps and lands all gentle like it’s still on 3s so you won’t lose any flight characteristics you’ve been used to. Trust me man it’s true! Mine and my buddy Derick Aquino’s is also 4s, it’s was his mod that inspired me to up mine to 4s, you can always go back to flying 3s any time you want without changing anything.
Question, I had a yellow T-28, wing popped off and she's history. Loved that plane.
And I would like another. So the question is, Is this new and improved model that much better?
Taking into consideration the price difference and obvious nose gear issue. The yellow version is very durable, Until you lose the wing mid flight. Thanks again for all you do to keep us flying!
Yes, the new one is way better in all the electronics, but the nose gear is still weak......BUT
Horizon Hobby listened!!!!!
They're now offering the bogey kit for less money, and the NOSE GEAR BOGEY ALONE!!! For cheaper still...
-Not yet announced - SHHHHHH - our little secret ;)
EFL8311; Nose Gear Assembly: T-28 1.2m
Amazing ;)
Nose gear T-28 Trojan 1.2m (14 screws) to get to the "C" clip inside and underneath the front servo. I've replaced my front "strut" 4 times at $15 each in one year. The nose gear "strut" for the T-28 was an afterthought. BTW -- my landings a priceless! 🙂
I might have to get one they look great and I can’t find one negative thing about them
You won't be disappointed (until you break this nose gear strut - LOL)....just kidding, sort of. This pane is very good, but be nice to the nose gear as it's the only "weak point", and honestly it's largely depended on your skills as a pilot, and somewhat on the design of the plane.
Just make sure you flare and you'll almost ever have an issue.
P.S. I know I mentioned it, but make sure to use the coupon code ( SUPERSCALE ) at checkout for $25 OFF!!!
Brian Phillips ok thanks will do
I had to do a big repair to otter landing gear on front nose gear , it worked out grate but e flight should re engineer some of this stuff , it was a some what simple fix that made it better than factory , looked goood cost 25 cents and has never failed, The factory should have installed a plastic plate over base of gear! And would not have been an issue, all tri landing gear is going to take abuse.
yeah, I've seen this before too. This T-28 nose gear has been an issue for years, but if they could just keep the parts in stock, I wouldn't beat them up...
Plus, I'm WAY to big of a cheapskate to buy a replacement part anyway - LOL :)
Use motion rc t33 retracts they fit perfectly
Thanks! Call up MotionRC and tell them you want to see their stuff on our channel ;)
Hey Brian what kind of servo is used to steer the planes front wheel?
Usually a 9 gram servo. If you follow our link to buy, then you can scroll down to REPLACEMENT PARTS it will usually show what you need. bprc.me/T28
@@BrianPhillipsRC ok thanks man!!!
You have everything you could ever need in that room
And now that room belongs to someone else :(... I miss that room, even though our new home is awesome, it's still lacking a proper shop.
Yeah whenever the wind just stops I have a loss of lift and slam down
I know, it's tough to tell BEFORE your plane drops the nose, right!?!?
Why doesn't horizon just fix the retract problem and manufacture them? I have the same problem with my FMS 1400mm T-28 Trojan V4, collapsed on landing on front gear. It is even difficult to take out of plane.
Is the nose gear better on the new 2022 version?
I think it's the SAME, but check this out - Horizon Hobby listened!
Now they're going to be offering JUST the Nose Gear Bogey PN: EFL8311 - Not even on the web site yet, but coming SOON!!!!
Bogey Kit bit.ly/3rQRfMq (Also WAY cheaper!!!)
Nose Retract bit.ly/3EOoEN8
Main Retract bit.ly/39jHujB
I think you can get a couple more months outta that air filter in the background at 8:00
LOL - Very nice!!! You know, a clogged air filter is very efficient, but slow down and loads the fan motor more ;)
If you get one landing from this half-assed fix, I would be surprised.
I've gotten many. BUT, I've admittedly had to fix it a time or two. This plane of mine is beat to heck, so I don't really want to dump more cash into it. I'd rather buy a brand new one, as this plane is EXCELLENT!!!
I think I would just spend the 40 bucks and buy the part. I 'm a little lazy.
I totally understand why one would want to just order the parts...just wish HH would offer the "known" weak parts
Really... Welding a $10 Strut!
No welding involved here...
