@shanshanrere @jacky24ish This isn't a really hard a routine by today's standards maybe, but this was the first time anybody had ever done a ball up 360 tick tock! They made history and changed the sport. You have to give that the respect it deserves. You would never have learned all the "way harder" stuff you've done if it weren't for athletes like this who paved the way and made our sport what it is. I remember watching this and being speechless. The entire crowd went nuts and the energy in that room was amazing. I'll remember it my whole life.

Cheerleading is just as much if a sport as gymnastics baseball basket ball whatever. You are on a team, compete to win, get judged, get a trophy, wear a uniform. These girls are highly trained very skilled and very athletic. And to the girl that said she could be a highly skilled level 10 gymnast if you weren't sitting on your ass, honey you were sitting on your ass, and you weren't in the 2013 Olympics. These girls,(I say girls because this is an all girl team not coed) are at WORLDS. Which is the Olympics for cheerleaders the biggest competition there is. And also she said that is you get judged it isn't a sport in gymnastics I'm pretty sure you get judged... Anyway cheerleading is I fact a sport. Will I say it is harder then football, no harder then gymnastics, no harder then another sport, no. Anyone can cheerlead. But don't take me wrong when I say this you need to have just as much skill and dedication to be involved in this sport. Anyone can do tricks on a beam bar and vault, anyone can throw a football and shoot some hoops. Until you try a sport (cheerleading) don't say it is or isn't a sport. These girls and boys work way to hard for their talents and accomplishments to be doubted like that...so I think I proved my point goodbye.

I cheer up in Canada and was lucky enough to make it onto a local level 5 Worlds team in the 2009/2010 season. At the time, I didn't know a lot about cheerleading outside of our local cheer community - I'm embarrased to say I didn't even know who Cheer Extreme was. Watching this routine actually changed my life and my involvement in this sport.
I'm proud to say my team goes to that gym (school team) and that gym is basically has high expectations. Only the best of the best goes there. NC state university goes to the raleigh one and my team goes to the raleigh one too. Currently, the varsity team at my school are three time national champions. CEA is a very successful team and they mean business. These girls want it so bad and they deserve all 148 trophies in they're gym (I counted during one of my breaks haha)
@shanshanrere It actually depends on where you are located. The state of Wisconsin considers cheerleading a sport due to an injury that was caused due to the SPORT.
@shanshanrere The only thing a game has to have to be a sport is physical exertion so cheer is a sport and your right it doesn't matter if it's in the Olympics
OMG i know!! one of them is a gymnast and she knows F all about cheer! I don't think a lot of gymnasts appreciate how hard the split synchronised running tumbling is and did anyone else catch that she said 'and finishing up with the dance section'??? like they're going to finish with no pyramid?? -_-
@ cheerup546 I totally agree with you. @ 40 seconds "They have beautiful jumps right here" That was the only jump they did. Uhm excuse me but that's a toe touch and that doesn't look like any other cheer jump
@shanshanrere Have you ever seen a score sheet? Certain things are specified deductions! It's not just opinion, it depends on what the judges see... kind of like referees. I'm a cheerleader and I know how judging works. At big competitions they record the routines and whenever they see certain things they deduct from a total. So instead of earning points we lose them, which is way harsher than any other sport and a lot more pressure. And gymnastics is in the Olympics... so....
