most Nidalee games in top leagues is Peanut w/ 60-ish WR, but most of it was back in his first years
this year among top leagues Canyon has 10 Nidalee games w/ 1 loss, behind him are Cuzz and Kanavi w/ 5-0 score each.
the overall Nidalee WR this season (in top leagues only) is actually 50.5, so it's not even that bad. In LPL the WR is even 53.7, so it's more than decent. In western top leagues, however, the results are much worse (as expected?).
One could also separate the wins against bottom-tier teams and top tier teams, and in this case Cuzz vanishes from this statistic. Canyon has 1 win against DRX and the other are against top teams, Kanavi's wins are also mostly against top teams (I don't follow LPL enough to make this claim though).
@@sya8002 You got me more interested as well. It made me look at matchups. Nid has been played a total of 85 times in top leagues only(just using the filter on gol) and she has a 47.1% wr. Her best matchups are Karthus, Lillia & Viego and is a combined 14-5 against those 3 champs. This is also at the same rate against most other champs she's played against. If you take those 19 games out shes sitting at 26-40 with a 39% wr. Even regardless of who's piloting her, if you don't have a favorable matchup good luck.

DK huge mistake was in game 2 that ezreal getting caught by ashe ult and zero response from karma's mikael, that led them to not recover from game 2
while in game 3 what really came was GenG as a whole. Chovy and Kiin knew what their role is

6:55 in game 1, genG jg canyon and DK jg lucid have been matched opposite sides, but nidalee induced a new state by taking lee sin krugs for lee sin's 4v2, 4v1 bot dive. due to the differences in clear, lee sin cleared his bot side jg and recalled to 1 item vs nidalee's components, so he has an advantage in a fight. genG canyon elected to contest regardless, and nidalee sucks in a straight up contest, preferring invades and 1v1 poke w/ threat of all in, which results in them slipping up after attempting an exit pick and getting counter-picked.
7:34 minor point, but lucid could contest nidalee's red and deny farm, which would eventually result in nidalee having to invade lee sin's top side to even out the trade, setting up a later pick. instead nidalee gets to take her camps for free.
9:41 unfortunately ksante engage is very telegraphed and pushed. normal fight, canyon gets picked.
13:30 game is lost when nidalee can't invade and do her thing, leaving the sides uncovered, which results in a slow bleed.

nothing remarkable about jungle happened due to lane swap except wolves trade with exquisite tempo knowledge, rest of game was driven by lanes. normal jg gameplay

40:39 lucid by now knows the pattern so DK try to trap canyon's identity of invading and poking by 4stacking. canyon escapes because his top t1 is still standing.
40:52 nidalee doesn't do well straight-up, so genG canyon +1 are wiped when they are surprise ganked. rest of genG salvage the play
41:40 canyon bounces between top and mid providing coverage, and since genG top doesn't get 1 shot, he's able to collapse and use nidalee's identity to kill, which leads to numbers advantage for baron.
44:08 canyon died overforcing on a siege with baron, so genG try to recover tempo. DK invade nidalee's top with tempo and set up a vision line, but canyon just trades with an invade to avoid the confrontation.

They are losing sure, it’s part of the game. You can’t be number 1 always. Your start will get studied deeply and beaten sooner or later. Being number 1 is the most difficult position.
Historically T1 bounced back and showed the greatest level of innovation on the meta and how to play the game. They are all worlds champions, they have the skill and the mindset.
Winning is beating everyone until the END. GenG never did that at international stages with current roster. And that’s what matters the most.
Controlling the game and winning like they do only works when you have the opportunity to study the teams deeply and narrow down so much to beat them, but you are not generalized enough to beat none LCK teams.
The idea is not to perfectly beat the teams in your region, it could happen as a side effect but the goal, if it’s your goal than you don’t understand what « competition » means. Playing the correct and the best league of legends possible in a generalized way, not specific to a team in your region just to beat them.
I don’t know if it’s clear, but tldr;
When T1 is good they are good everywhere and anytime.
When others are good they are ONLY good in specific situations, regions, against a type of teams…. And that’s GenG.
You need to play to beat everyone.
