honestly yeah. the whole movie is amazing (except for the parts that werent in the book) it shows one of jokers many origins, which show he was once sane. he was human. the most sane man can go insane with just “One bad day...”
And then there's 9:55, one that very few see, but is an absolutely chilling laugh. As his plans crumble, and everything burns, he knows he is going to die, and all he can do is let loose one of the single most bloodcurdling laughs in his career, with the sheer madness of it echoing, even after his disappearing.
I remember Hamill saying in an interview that he wanted every laugh to be unique, have emotions (sad laugh, manic giggle, angry cackle) and have a touch of musicality to them. I'd say he nailed it. Also, damn: he laughs faster than a Kookaburra. And congratulations on compiling this: it must've taken ages!
Hamill did say that he thought about what the actor for The Riddler in the Adam West Batman said about his character: "It's not so much how he laughs, it's what he's laughing at." Every situation requires a different laughter and I agree with you, he nailed it.
Yup, 6:34 is still my favourite after all these years - total terrifying glee with wild abandon. You don't know whether to laugh along with him or run for the nearest window.

Mark Hamill's best and most terrifying laugh is at 36:40. In that moment you know hes lost it all: his wife ,his kid, and lastly his sanity. In that moment he became the most scariest and dangerous villain in Batman's rogue's gallery. Hamill's portrayal has made Joker my absolute favorite villain of all times. Personally nothing will top that. Thank you mister Mark Hamill, your the GREATEST.
Mark Hamill said in an interview many years ago that the Joker's laugh should be like a musical instrument, that it changes tones that would demonstrate the Joker's mood in many ways. And this video is proof of that.
I would love to have seen how Mark Hamill would have done as a live action Joker. in my opinion he had the perfect Joker voice and DEFINITELY the perfect laugh. Mark Hamill always seemed to nail the unhinged insanity of the Joker's bursts of laughter or sinister giggles.
I agree with FalconPunch, his live action trickster is the closest you'll get to a live action mark hamill joker In fact the original flash TV show where he first plays as trickster was the origin of his joker laugh
I hate to sound mean, but he doesn't have the body type for it. Joker I deathly slim and tall. He also has a very sharp face, in comparison to Hamill's more round face. Mark Hamill has the perfect Joker laugh and voice, but he doesn't look like the Joker or at least close enough. I mean, I'd kill for a Kevin Conroy Batman, but unfortunately, he has the same problem. He doesn't have the body to pull off a live action Batman
9:56 this is the Joker I know. He laughs in the face of death, pushes Batman to almost killing him, and represents chaos. And in this, he knows he is about to die, has no where to go, and no where to run, but it all caused chaos, and the Joker feels like he finally won. Always something I love to see from Mark.
If, at some point in The Dark Knight, Batman failed to defuse a bomb, but instead of blowing up, he got a pie in the face, and then Rachel blew up somewhere else or whatever, But there is Cristian Bale crying with pie on his face while Joker is laughing at him, The Dark Knight would have won an Oscar
All it takes is one bad day. One bad day can reduce even the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. And the Joker, too. Just one bad day.
Joker's laugh at the end of "MASK OF THE PHANTASM" is by far THEE greatest and most maniacal bone chilling laugh he has ever created, and anyone who says otherwise is either trying fool or convince themselves 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Realizing that the first two episodes of Joker are possiblymy two favorites. One being that Joker can be threatening but can be beaten. The other, silly and funny, but secretly terryfying. Really shows someone new to Joker exactly who he is as a person. The future episodes better showcase his intelligence as a villain.
Mark Hamill is my favorite actor of all time!! By the way who else thinks Mark is even better playing villains than heroes? Still love him both ways though! :)
Out of all the laughs, @20:31 takes the cake for me. Because it’s just how it sounds compared to most of them that leaves me flabbergasted no matter how many times I hear it.
I love the story of how he came up with the way he was going to laugh for the Joker. he said he was driving to the recording studio and was looking in his rear view mirror while making different laughs and he said along the way he noticed people staring in other cars. They must have thought he was insane XD. Mark Hamill is the greatest Joker of all time, no one comes close. He's followed by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger imho.
