Phenomenal engine like almost every Alfa Romeo 4 cyl and V6. I have the same engine which is one of the best 4 cyl they could ever produce. Just to precise you it delivers 250 Newtonmeters of torque not 150. 👋🏻🇮🇹💪🏻
mine does 215hp and 330nm with just a downpipe, full exhaust, intake and intercooler.. if this turbo dies bacause of wear and millage i'll get a hybrid turbo and bigger injectors. that should result in 240hp :)

Surprised that you think these are good engines in any way shape or form. They were pure garbage in the US Dodge Darts with stalling and oil consumption problems, and Fiat knew that.
@@PatientXero607 The interesting thing is that is not the case in Europe. I wonder why it's different as the engine should be the same. In Europe these are very durable engines apart from the Multiair unit which needs replacing roughly every 80-100k miles.
@@japanluv If you want power in a Giulietta, much better to start with a Quadrifoglio which already has 235 hp as standard.

I have the same only manual transmission. I just poured Selenia K pure energy 5w40 engine oil and a cotton reinforced air filter, the car was reborn, it gained so much power that it is a different car. In first and second gear with dynamic mode, it cannot be mastered and the sound is something incredible❤
buonasera. prima della giulia 2.0 turbo avevo proprio questa e ne ho ancora dei gran ricordi. avantreno preciso e stabile grazie anche alle qualità dello sterzo e retrotreno sincero ed affidabile. portata a vallelunga ho raggiunto una velocità di punta di 220km\h in assoluta tranquillità. ottima anche la frenata ed in generale il confort di marcia. consumi non bassi semplicemente perchè è una macchina che ti spinge a dare gas fin dalle marce basse. ottimi ricordi e venduta benissimo.

I am Alfa Romeo to the core. 40 years. I loved everything about this car, until I saw the dashboard. This video has changed that. I just don’t think I could have an auto Alfa. Great video. Please do the 1750TBi. Same engine as Alfa 4C and W Series race engine 😳 Alfa engines are insanely good ❤❤❤

I have the same car. Love it. Its a 1,4l that easily reaches 220. Mine has been chiped and has almost 200hp now so it is a bit faster but i never tested the top speed yet. This engine is very very good anyway. Never a problem but good satisfactions.
Did you upgrade to turbo as well or it is enough to support that much hp?
@@LaPommeDeMars mine has been reprogrammed by an ingeneer. Then i only put a sporting air filter ( k&N ) and changed the exhaust with an hand made properly for my giulietta. It reaches 200hp easily only doing this changes. Dont need more for a daily use.
@@MIRO000 very good handling. Consider that mine has the bilsten+eiback suspension kit. Its glued to the street. About the quality it depends what you mean. It has a good quality for the price you pay. Lets say that a car of the same segment from Mercedes or bmw costs more and dont give you much more quality. Just a Name and some ( in my opinion ) not necessary electronics devices that distract from driving. After 6 years and 53000km i can honestly say that this engine and the Giulietta is a very good car. Very well designed and great feeling driving. Thats why i will keep it in my garage. I' m just thinking to give her some company with a mazda mx5 Rf 2.0 184hp or a Fiat 124 spider. I am taking a look on the market.
What is fuel consumption for these engines? Do you know before and after modification?
@@2WheelDerness i also have mine chipped it does 203hp and 305nm, fuel economy on normal use is easy 1 liter for 15-17km highwayspeeds around 110-120km/h will get you around 1 liter for 15-16km, However since i drive it like it stole it half of the time my fuel consumption on average is 1 liter for 11-12 km

Those engines were the best between 2007 and 2013. The hatchbacks weren't heavy at all, mostly around 1275kg, and were also priced low. VW 5 GT 170, Seat Leon II 1.8TSI 160, Audi A3 8PA TFSI 160, Opel Astra 1.6T H 180. With nearly less than 26,000 euros, you could had a “sporty” driving experience at 220-230 km/h according to the GPS on a flat road.

I have the 2L jTDM (170bhp stock - mine has been remapped to 200bhp) and despite owning many different cars over the years from a wide variety of manufacturers, my Giulietta is the car that keeps me grinning. It's a great little car and I may just end up buying the facelift Veloce (the one replacing the QV) next time around!

awesome driving, i own a 1,6 jtdm2 (diesel 105hp) but why didn't you drive in dynamic? it's much more fun! feels like a rocket when i drive with it on
I noticed that! No orange light = Not as much fun. Dynamic mode for the win!
@@willand_rsonHe also didn't use the shift paddles. Dynamic mode adds torque too, which is not typical of driving modes.

In Dynamic the car goes in overboost and pushes the engine to the limit.

My friend used to have one of these but the facelift version. The ride was pretty smooth due to it’s sport character. Handling and traction were also cool but you could feel a bit of body roll. If you install a well modified exhaust, I believe you will hear the best modern 4 cylinder in the world with this 1.4 engine. The biggest negative point I can say for this car is reliability. My friend’s car was always at repair shop. The engine and extremly sensitive gearbox were a weakness to this car. Otherwise, it was prefect. Great Italian car👍. I loved it so much. It has that Italian taste in it.
I got Giulietta from 2013, 170kk kms and not many issues. Oil change intervals in this engine every 10k kms are very important. What exactly broke down? supposedly 1.4 in giulietta are quite good and reliable, especially in models after 2013 when they dealt with many problems, many parts and repairs are not expensive, the cost of replacing the multiair module, however, is quite expensive/
not the best modern 4 cylinder sound at all. You should listen to a R56 JCW or a Megane 3 RS

I love Alfas but this looks ugly, looks way worse than its predecessor 147. Dashboard is also crap. The engine is not bad, but nothing special. VW had a 1.4 turbo with similar performance back in the day. Plus its unreliable and has relatively high consumption.

great run, but you did not have it in dynamic mode. I dont know if it matters in terms of top speed. but sport mode delivers a bit more low end power (overboost)

My 2.8 V6 Audi 80 has the same bhp and torque more or less. Yet to put her on the road though. Crazy that an engine half the size is putting out the same figures these days
Yee with a very large 1bar or more of boost.. that 2.8 will last way more than any 1.4t and not to mention the repair shop visits lol
