"After staying up for 24 hours" is really relatable to me as a student. I once stayed up for 40 hours because of several projects i had to do. When i had exams, there were times i haven't slept for 24 - 30 hours. I also remember a time when i was writing my thesis paper and slept around 10 hours in total during the 5 days i wrote it. Procrastination is a hell of a thing sometimes.

My sleep schedule changes depending on plans, but if I don't need to be awake during the day, I tend to prefer a nocturnal routine because I'm significantly more productive and focused at nighttime. Regardless of sleep schedule and what my body is used to, day dwelling is just extremely challenging for me and then going to bed is extremely difficult because regardless of how exhausted I am, my body gets a huge dose of energy once it's dark out. Don't know why. It's been like that my whole life. I've always had extreme difficulty with energy and motivation during the day. But it would be inaccurate to say I have insomnia because I sleep very well during the day. Just not at night. I'm also able to "hibernate", as in sleep for days on end only waking up briefly to eat and use the restroom/shower once a day when neccessary. Granted, I did also sleep for 2 days straight once without waking up at all (I was just unable to wake up). In short, sleep is weird for me. I need at least a minimum of 9 hours, though I seem to function best at 11 hours with the rare occurrence where I only need 5 hours.

Last school year I was sleeping 3 hours a day and it truly is not a flex, this school year I’ve started going to bed at 10-11 and it helps tremendously. The year I didn’t sleep well I went to summer school and now my grades are peaking

“After staying up for 24 hours” also applies to neurospicy people because we usually have horrible sleeping schedules and every once in a while we’ll try to “fix” it by forcing ourselves to stay up 24 hours till the next night so that we’ll be exhausted enough to fall asleep at a “reasonable” time the next night, but then inevitably the sleep schedule gets messed up again or it doesn’t work and we still don’t sleep at a “reasonable” time even when exhausted to that point and so we do it again and the cycle continues. Though I also have insomnia, and depending on how nice my brain is being I will fall asleep anywhere between 10 pm and not sleeping that night and I’m pretty much always tired. It’s great. It’s currently 10 pm and I’m on my phone instead of sleeping because this seems like a night where my brain is gonna be mean to me
