Thank you, Kevin. My beautiful mom just passed at the age of 91. She left me her Baritone Ukulele. I remember playing this as a child. I love the sound. I am looking forward to watching more of your beginners videos.
An excellent, very easy to follow ( appropriate speed) intro to this instrument. Might take me a little time to adjust from GCEA to bari but has excited me - even at age 80!!
This is perfect for someone like me, who has never played any musical instruments. It’s exactly what I was looking for, everything from how to hold it properly, to some chords where you feel like you got this. Looking forward to the next lessons.
@@oOcitizenOo I bought cheap ukulele for my kids in general store 3 months ago (soprano version). Kids got bored with it fast so I started to play on it. When was looking for yt tutorials I realised that something like Baritone ukulele exists. I loved the warm sound of this instrument since the first moment I heard it. A month a go I bought one. I also considered buying tenor for a while but the tuning of baritone is better for what I like to play. I'm curious, have you bought anything?
I'm 65 years old and a beginner. I love your teaching style and this course. Thank you! I've been working on this lesson and soon moving onto lesson 2.
My Handcrafted Baritone Ukulele is being made right now by a Luthier in Central Luzon in the Philippines 🇵🇭. 2nd generation Luthier with over 30 years experience. Kently Morales. Awesome, man, beautiful instrument. Made of Acacia, dried for 5 years before creating. Acacia is what Koa is. 120 hours to make. 😊
Excellent video. I am actually coming from the other direction. I have been a basic guitar strummer all my life. Nothing fancy just something to accompany me when I sing. Being 71 now, arthritis has made it a little harder to play the guitar. SO, I thought I would try uke. I went to a music store and tried a few out. Normal uke(Soprano, Tenor, Concert), not with these fat fingers, So I bought a baritone.. The good news is that I don't have to worry about tuning, in fact it is easy with two less strings to worry about, With good news, there is always bad news. I know how to play those chords with 6 strings, but, there are those pesky two less strings getting even, teaching this old dog new tricks with my left hand and trying to do it with only 4, is fun. Watching you work thru this and following you will be a big help. Thanks for the video.
Noting where each section of the video begins is helping this newbie who needs lots of repetition. 😃 At 5:25 - 4 Chords: G, Em, C, D7 At 9:24 - Strumming patterns At 13:30 - Play along chord progressions
You are a FABULOUS teacher 😊❤ THANK YOU so much for your clear and patient instruction! I cannot wait to do ALL of your lessons! This is such a GIFT! 🎉😊
This is so fantastic! I just bought a Baritone Ukulele and wasn't sure where I'd start learning to play it, went on RUclips and BOOM! There you are! Perfect! Thanks
Just back from the music store. Asked for a baritone uke instruction book; she tells me they don't stock many books because everybody orders online or goes to RUclips, so here I am. Looks very good indeed. I can't imagine anybody doing a better job. thanks!✌😎
I never played a instrument before and struggled for years on the baritone. Finally being able to play some chords feels really nice thank you so much!
Kevin, you're great! I bought my bariton U. yesterday, I love it. I found it by chance, I did not even know about the existence of this insturment, and I already LOVE it. Now I also found your lesson, I love it too, and I can only say THANK YOU! Greets from Argentina
Your lessons are great, Kevin. I have some experience with the upper register ukes, but wanted to learn to play the bari fingerstyle, so I started there. But the first lesson gave me so much to think about with position that I moved here, and this first lesson has been a wonderful help. My left hand and wrist thank you!
I had to add my voice and say a big thank you to you. I'm learning slowly so I keep coming back to your very first video but you are very thorough and so helpful. You really have a great style for teaching. I'm grateful and will support your channel any way I can.
After months of going back and forth, I recently bought a baritone ukulele and it's so difficult to find decent beginner tutorials for it. So, thank you for this! :)
Out of no where l wanted to learn how to play baritone ukulele so l did my research and l think this is the one l want I’m really sure l want this one. Thank you so much I’m so exited to start learning
Got my Kala baritone uke today ( not the same as the one you are using but a different model) the sound is soooo good and I can get to the frets with my big fingers its a delight, Im over the moon with it. Good to be a member of AllForUke.. keep these lessons coming Kevin Cheers :-)
Thank for doing this series for Bari Ukulele. I have had a Bari for a while but don't play it much, so I am doubly glad to find this series. Thank you. I need to catch up on your other videos :)
My Baritone arrived about a half hour ago. Got it tuned and just learned the first 4 chords. Amazing. My fumble fingers I used on my tenor were tight and crowded, but on my new Baritone, they have plenty of room and fit easily.
I’m loving my Kala Baritone and getting ready to give one away on Instagram soon. So warm sounding. Building a good size library of baritone content on the A4U site if you want to check it out. All the best man - Kevin | www.allforuke.com/lessons
@@AllForUke Kevin, I watch uke sites most of every day, or is that "I watch uke sites every day for most of each day"? The first thing I noticed in most of them are all the ukes arrayed behind the OP. They all seem to have several, some, a dozen or more, so I guess I won't be too ashamed to tell you all that after only 0ne month, I now have 5 ukes, 3 tenors and 2 baritones. HAHAHA The Baritone I mentioned last week, my first, is a Kmise Baritone. And do not blow off Kmise and say "who". From what my untrained ear can detect, the Kmise sound better than brands like Kala and Oscar Schmidt. I own all 3. The real difference is playability. The other Baritone, a Zirikote Kala, has more finger room on the neck and is now my go to baby. It makes learning the chords fun and easy. BTW, if you check your websites hits, you'll probably notice I am here for hours every day. I have checked out everyone else's sites too, but, yours is most informative and I learn more here. I'm an old gezzer, and I'm getting tired sitting at home doing nothing. So I've decided that I'm going to play an instrument. I was told that the Baritone was one of the easiest instruments to play for a beginner. So I ordered one, and it will be coming in a couple of weeks.

just found some wood to build one. Im a classical guitar player, so this one should be easy to play. Best way to learn the chords on the Baritone is to look at guitar chords diagrams and cut the 6th and 5th string off. great video

I'm excited to learn how to play the baritone ukulele that a friend gifted to me. I love the vibe of your video. As someone who is 100% unfamiliar with its cords and strings though, I would find it really helpful if your camera shot showed an upclose shot of the finger positions you're talking about. I'm not really sure what you're doing up top there. Is your finger pad on just one string or is your finger laying across all the strings, etc? Hopefully I'll get the hang of this.
Hi Kevin, thanks for some wonderful courses, find you teaching skills very inspiring and your knowledge spot on. Would love to learn to play the Barry Uke but afraid the finances don't run to one just yet. Hey wait a minute, got a low G tenor, just tune it down 4 tones and I'm away, when the pennies add up I will be able to play that new baritone as soon as I get it Thanks

Thank you!!! I am so excited to finally learn to play my father's ukulele...I am 52 years old and I finally decided to learn to play this amazing baritone ukulele. He gave it to me a few years ago but it wasn't until today that I pulled it from it's case and sat down in front of your youtube lessons and learned to tune it and play it. But I have since learned what it really is. (And it's a C.F. Martin and Co). And now, you have brought life to the memories of a ukulele I remember as a child, in the bottom of my father's closet, and given me power to create beautiful music! Once again, thank you!!!
