    I like to use a messy oil brush zoomed way out to block in an entire image and then detail only the important areas.
    The messy brush creates its own shapes and the illusion of detail.

    This vid helped. Doing too many little brush strokes and zooming in too much is a major problem that I need to correct.

      VeyZ Art greatchapoy to hear it, best thing to do is not zoom in

      I do same as you @veyz art , since I paint at very high res and if I don't zoom in, my potato will explode.Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade it soon.

      yeah seriously what did he do ? add a canvas / paper texture on top of the whole image or use some filter but it just changes wtf x.x

    • @boitahaki
      @boitahaki 6 лет назад +11

      He definitely painted over it, with better shapes and blended the colors with a textured brush

      MrBreakingBones I might be wrong but to me it looks like he painted over everything with a brush with a little color jitter mode in ps brush settings

    My own personal problem is that I'm way too caught up in all the brushes I could use and how I would utilize them, as well as trying to make my own which is another can of worms when I don't even know what exactly I should be trying to go for

    What i find a struggle is not exactly knowing how real world looks and functions. I know the studies can help, but not knowing how to execute them is hard

    You're good and have great breakdowns and judgment, but you didn't talk about the glowing Atlantis heads at the beginning of the video. Lame. Talk about Tyler. The glow? The markings? The size? Anything. Don't pass that up!

      was just decorative element to add interest to the plain head. i thought i mentioned that.
