I'm from Milwaukee Wisconsin. The Dells or Door County are more family friendly. The thing to do in the summer in Wisconsin is to get out of the city and go"up north" to the lakes and forests.
Devils Lake was my go to campground back in the 80's. I grew up in northern Illinois and loved visiting Milwaukee especially during the music fest. Loved the Safe House too!
For anyone who is interested, I went to Russia about 4 years ago. I took a cruise on the Volga from Moscow to Rostov. I cannot describe how fantastic it was. Incredible history. It cost 2000, plus 800 airfare for 18 days!! You will never find a better deal.
I've been to Russia twice and I was supposed to be back there last April but thanks to the covid virus that last trip didn't happen. Now I'm waiting for the borders to open and I'll be back. My girlfriend lives in Petrozavodsk and I've been through most cities and villages from St. Petersburg through Moscow and further south and as far east as Ulyanovsk. The last city was a 14 hour train trip to that city. I have never been on a train for that long and I felt like I was still moving after I got off of it. :-)))) It was quite an experience. Having someone drive me around all over western Russia was really something because they drive in that country like they do in Chicago.

I saw your sister went in 2019. What a difference a year makes. Right now things are super crazy in the cities. I live in mid wisconsin, so we are still quiet and safe for most parts. I went to the twin cities, exactly this time last year. I enjoyed it! There were shady people, but they didn't bother us that much. I was sad I couldn't go to a new city this year. Scary and covad 19.
Thanks for the great video Vicky, pleased you had a nice time and you stayed safe, also your english is very good.. next time visit Australia we would love to see you... 😊
The first tine I drove through Wisconsin, I thought it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen in the US. How ironic that Vika felt frightened in the Wisconsin forest since y'all are from the vast expanses of Russia!
You’re such a nice gal and a wonderful ambassador I have to tell you. But when I saw you video recording (while biking?) in downtown Minneapolis at night outside of Augies bar on Hennepin Avenue, instantly felt kind of sick. Like wow. Wrong place dear. You’d have a good chance of getting through that without getting hurt but you were pressing your luck. Not a place to be. Glad you kept moving. Minnesota and Minneapolis are beautiful with great neighbors and parks but you don’t go down to Hennepin avenue alone on a bike after dark. I think that’s kid of true in most big cities. US and Europe. Anyway, you’re a great kid. Glad you saw the best we have to offer here in the Midwest USA. Come back any time... and don’t go downtown to Hennepin Avenue!
Mr. Slava, I live with my family 15 minutes drive from where Vicka was out in Minneapolis at night. Always go with another person and yes she is either brave or didn't know it can be a safety issue. It can also be fun going to theater plays like the Guthrie in Minneapolis or the Ordway in St.Paul in the evening so there are definitely areas that are a blessing. Great video, we love to vacation on the lakes in northern Wisconsin! Your Minneapolis experience is unfortunately pretty common. Please don’t go downtown late at night in most US cities. Especially, on a bike. Glad you were unharmed.
when you get a bat, open the door, but close the door for any other rooms so the bat does not fly into another room, get a broom, mop and try to push it out, or get a big blanket and hold it up to make a wall, and push toward the bat and push toward the open door

Interesting. Ran across the CoolVision videos while planning the trip we were supposed to be on now, East Asia and the Trans Siberian. We liked the technical informational style, and binged several of them. Initially I thought you were from the Southern States, maybe Texas? The RUclips algo pointed to RussiaPlus and we have been enjoying the insight. Thanks for posting. Initially your sister didn't say much in the videos. But her English is good and it is interesting to hear her perspective.
Hello ! I live in Friendship, Wisconsin. It is a very rural area. About 20 miles south of me is the Wisconsin Dells. It is a major tourist area. In the summer all the businesses are desperate for workers. They hire workers from all over the world by the hundreds[maybe thousands]. They also provide housing. Many times I have seen these workers out having a good time when they are off from work. They seem to be enjoying themselves. Also, I would try to find work in Door County. It is also a big tourist area and is very nice. A beautiful area on Lake Michigan. My good friend Went to vacation this past summer in Minong. I'll have to ask him if he remembers a nice Russian girl in any of the places he went to ! Most major cities around the world have areas that are not so nice. Always seek advice before you explore large cities.
Victoria made a very intelligent choice to go to an area where she would not have a lot of other Russian language speakers around. Her English is fantastic! It sounds like she had a nice time too and enjoyed the family that she spent time with :)
OMG, she is Vika, I watched all your videos at Ant Gayla's house, she was so shy in those videos and couldn't even understand English, but now she speaks English really well.
What great experiences for Vika! 🤩 I wonder if she had the chance to practice Spanish a little bit during one of her tours 😀 then you guys can visit Peru 🇵🇪

Very interesting to watch! Duluth, Minnesota is also a nice city not far from where you stayed - right on Lake Superior, smaller, working class city without the crime problems of Minneapolis. Even Minneapolis on the whole is a very nice place - the surrounding suburbs & some neighborhoods are extremely safe. In general, in large American cities the "downtown" might have museums, offices and cultural activities, but are not usually active at night except for special events. For going out at night it's important to know where you're going - some urban neighborhoods are full of young people and families, and have bars, restaurants and safe places to walk. Others are simply not safe for outsiders, with gangs, crime, robbery, etc. Usually those two worlds don't come together, but it's more likely in a downtown than in a more residential neighborhood.
I'm from the fox valley in wisconsin, me and my friends joke that wisconsin is second place to most russia like right after alaska. Your such a sweetie pie, I've meet other people from exchange programs in like the dells before working in those shops.
Bika, or is it Viga. Saw her in the video with Katya who drove from London to her home in Russia. She is quite brave and adventurous to go so far from home by herself. She should not fear the bat, unless it morphed into a man with fangs and a cape, who threw his head back and with a maniacal laugh, started to count.
You said she was camera shy,but she spoke very nicely about her experience in Wisconsin in this video.Anyway, love you and your beautiful family.Your videos are worth watching.❤️
I watch so many videos about travelers in Russia it was great to see one about Russian travelers in America. There is so much more than Minnesota and New Jersey. Try some of the small coastal cities in the south. You will enjoy the experience and the food. Good video👍🍻🇺🇸
I went to the Soviet Union in 1989. It was kind of scary to be in that country at that time, but it was beautiful, especially Moscow and St. Petersburg (Leningrad at the time). The people were so nice and the boys were cute (I was a senior in high school at the time as it was a school trip). It was hard to see people in lines for bread and struggling, while we had so much. I always left items like gum, soap, toiletries, and American dollars in our hotel rooms as tips for the housekeeping staff. We also went to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. I would love to go back to see how things have changed.
@To The Point Yes, the Dells is a world-class resort destination! Sundara Inn and Spa is amazing 😍 sadly this year, Great Wolf is only open weekends, Noah's Ark is closed. But most others are open and doing ok despite covid.
Have you ever come to upstate New York or come out city call Syracuse New York USA if you come see lots of lakes and we have a big lake to up north and 1000 Islands up north with castles peoples homes or camps whatever is up there
Wisconsin is about the safest place on earth, literally, the wildlife isn't an issue, its safe to sleep outside if you want. In Wisconsin in some counties the government pays for a taxy home from the bar, its to prevent accidents. No one in the US wants to go to New Jersey and Maryland isn't much better. If you want to have fun go to Las Vegas.
I really think that Russians that enjoy rural life would love Downeast and Aroostock County Maine. Southern and Coastal Maine is touristy and has more stuff to do but mostly just for the elderly.
You both speak English very well !People in the city are definitely different than country people here in America. Hope you visit again .Thanks for all the awesome videos I enjoy watching them.
MEMO TO THE BROTHER : Your English is flawless. BARELY a detectable trace of a Russian Accent. SISTER: Your English is extremely Good. Kudos to both of you.
She did the right thing. People come to America and go to New York or Maryland or Florida and . . . that's not America. That's tourist focused. She went to rural Wisconsin, figured out how to live, had some scary experiences and had some fun experiences. So very brave. She will have a good life. Oh, and if she had been in a city, it would have been rats, not a bat. No one likes a bat in the house, but it's a lot better than rats. Not a Wisconsin problem, either. Anywhere in the world has rats.
Did you ever get a chance to take a trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula you have to come if you like nature it’s Beautiful up here Marquette is our biggest city we love to have people our Yooper experience.
I live in a suburb of Minneapolis. Maybe go into Minneapolis once every couple years now. Large cities in USA that are run by Democrats have turned into places of violence and anarchy.
I guess nobody in Wisconsin explained to this young foreign girl that our City Centers are generally pretty dangerous at night, where she comes from it is generally the best part of the city. Here in America it's usually the worst part unfortunately. I'm glad she had nothing more than a bad experience.
It's political - but some cities have police, some police themselves, Minneapolis is currently a police yourself town. Wasn't like that 20 years ago. Although, yes, all cities have areas your (especially a female) should go alone late at night. Love that you had a great time/experience in Wisconsin though! :)
Russia is a safe place even in the biggest cities, but America is the complete opposite. The cities in America are dangerous in the day, and extremely dangerous at night.
Finally...Vika spoke! Loved it!

Next time, come to Wisconsin Dells. We'll hold open one of our rent units for you! God bless!
@To The Point Yes, the Dells is a world-class resort destination! Sundara Inn and Spa is amazing 😍 sadly this year, Great Wolf is only open weekends, Noah's Ark is closed. But most others are open and doing ok despite covid.
That cat looks like it lifts weights! :)
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, 500 population. I now live in a bigger city in Wisconsin.
Have you ever come to upstate New York or come out city call Syracuse New York USA if you come see lots of lakes and we have a big lake to up north and 1000 Islands up north with castles peoples homes or camps whatever is up there
i am so happy you found a great place and you made it home safe.
You have such beautiful sister! ;)
Deluth next year for sure, so much more going on there.
The US needs to learn that downtown can be safe. I’m always astounded at how much their cities vary to ours here in Europe w.r.t safety.
Nice to see you sister speaking more in this video. Her English is good.
Did you get to Duluth? It’s a city near there in Minnesota
I live in Bruce, Wisconsin, beautiful and so is Minong!!!
Us Wisconsinites are nice people; no need to be scared. Just watch out for deer lol
ADORABLE!!!
Did your sister go to split rock lighthouse in Minnesota? I noticed her travels took her to a lighthouse In Minnesota on Lake Superior
love u all from india.Hi slava ur sister is very cute
You both speak English very well !People in the city are definitely different than country people here in America. Hope you visit again .Thanks for all the awesome videos I enjoy watching them.
MEMO TO THE BROTHER : Your English is flawless. BARELY a detectable trace of a Russian Accent. SISTER: Your English is extremely Good. Kudos to both of you.
Thank you
She did the right thing.
Did you ever get a chance to take a trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula you have to come if you like nature it’s Beautiful up here Marquette is our biggest city we love to have people our Yooper experience.
thanks😘 from india
Hope your sister visited folks in the countryside where real people live and doesn't judge everyone by the city dwellers .
very informative and nicely prepared video
I live in a suburb of Minneapolis. Maybe go into Minneapolis once every couple years now. Large cities in USA that are run by Democrats have turned into places of violence and anarchy.
Pretty girl. I enjoyed your story.
I guess nobody in Wisconsin explained to this young foreign girl that our City Centers are generally pretty dangerous at night, where she comes from it is generally the best part of the city. Here in America it's usually the worst part unfortunately. I'm glad she had nothing more than a bad experience.
Omg you're so right. Specifically, I wouldn't recommend that part of Minneapolis any time of day let alone at night wow
Most cities have an area like that, unfortunately . She's a brave one :)
