    You make Ninjutsu techniques look vibrant and functional. AKBAN and especially Yossi's interpretation of the art is an antecedent for taijutsu practitioners.

      The techniques are functional, they were made for ancient battlefields and will work on the modern battlefields and the streets. Its comes down to an instructor like this and the individual martial artist to make it work in real life.

    I training in Ninpo Taijutsu from 1986 back in the days of Stephen Hayes. Those days were seminars. Would take the stuff back to NYC train with my partners in the park. Never received a belt or a Rank. But studied real hard and was hit hard. Very thankful for that. Saved my butt in the Bronx many a times. Alban reminds me of that training style. Very slight differences (which I can assume is to adapt to the current way people fight) but it's the same assertive approach.

    It looks good on paper, but the slowness of the strike, coupled with the overcomplexity of the footwork would make you an easy target for an expirience boxer or muay thai fighter. twice the power and speed could be achived with a basic right cross with a powerful twist and engagement of the core muscles. Not hating, it's just an observation. there's no decent fighter who can honestly say they couldnt doge those punches and counter easily.

      You do know that you move a lot faster than that during a fight right? Doing it slowly it the best way to get the proper technique to stick in your brain.....You would know this if you had learned a weapon first as suggested in the martial arts manuals that are everywhere now a day's...

      even so, the crossing of the feet when stepping, and the hopping motions seem like they'd wreak havoc on your center of gravity as well. I'd love to see this used in someone in a legit fight. because its hard as shit to read at least, punches just coming from everywhere lol.

      I practiced Ninjutsu and we never did most of this stuff, it really just seems to be a work out/warm up. We did plenty of rolls, flips etc. along with holding stances (burn your fucking legs hardcore lol ) and that was alway the first 45 minutes after stretching. Then the days lessons started. Good times, good times!

    • @jokisnev
      @jokisnev 8 лет назад +1

      +APATSI99 We could also argue against rotating the wrist. But the stance is of bigger importance, and these punches aren't supported by the legs - they end before the back leg is put on the ground. Turning perhaps gives them some power though. The other thing not to overlearn is, of course, leaving the hand out.

    • @christulloch3473
      @christulloch3473 7 лет назад +3

      Clearly you haven't studied boxing that much then. Have you ever heard of the power line ? On a bio-mechanical level the vertical fist with the last 3 knuckles lined up with the form arm is more structurally sound they a horizontally held fist? Especially in bare knuckle situations when you don't have boxing gloves to cushion the impact. Horizontal striking is fine if your practicing for sport combat with gloves. But i wouldn't risk breaking my hand using it on the street. Where you will not be wearing gloves.

    • @christulloch3473
      @christulloch3473 7 лет назад +3

      Jack Dempsey and Jim Driscoll are to boxers to look at. Also check out Irish bare knuckle boxing and you will see vertical fists being used also.

    • @igottabasketballjones7420
      @igottabasketballjones7420 6 лет назад +1

      Chris Tulloch way better, you are correct. Less change of breaking your hand or spraining the wrist. As you said, it’s just more structurally sound, creates a good, stiff punch

    its amazing how many people are critical of your style in the comments, do they think you will really fight like this ??? or don't they understand what your doing here ?
    In short i'd say there warm up drills designed to get you warmed up and to ingrain the moves/strikes in your muscle memory. Boxers do the same thing in their most important training method, which is shadow boxing.
    10 minutes shadow boxing is worth many hours hitting the heavy bag, which I personally as boxer think is very much over rated.
    In my career as a boxer I rarely used the heavy bag but used the double end speed ball, which I think is the most underrated piece of boxing equipment there is, as it trains you to hit a fast moving head, it would be interesting to see some footage of you applying your strikes to a double end speed ball

    I see a bit of an argument in the comments, some people are pointing out why this would be less effective than other martial arts and the response seems to be that the people defending are claiming: "You move faster during the real fight" or "It's just training it isn't like this when you actually fight", but when you train as a boxer you ALWAYS train the technique correctly even if you are going at a slower pace. You may as well throw your training out if you are half-assing it or doing the technique incorrectly, so for the sake of argument I am going to assume that this is a "slowed down" version of the actual technique you would see in a real fight. Let's start with the footwork, the crossing of the feet instead of training the lead leg so that you are always firing your legs from a back position adds so much unnecessary time to a strike that could be immensely powerful even if fired directly from the front. Train with anyone that does kickboxing and ask them to hit you with the lead leg, I guarantee it is nothing to laugh at, and because it comes from the leg in front, closest to your opponent and without any additional shuffle or switch step, it is extremely hard to avoid or counter. The switch step and additional movements prior to striking simply gives your opponent a chance to react to your strike. Furthermore, you want to stay light on your feet at all times, EVEN WHEN JUST TRAINING yet the "master" isn't shuffling at all in between his strikes. He just stands there like a plank of wood then boom does a move. Boxers are always shuffling to ensure we are light on our feet since it is a reactionary sport. If I stop moving and just stand there after I strike, I am going to eat leather. You are not supposed to be exclusively on offense, or exclusively on defense when you are fighting, you are always ready for both, always moving, always constantly flowing. Whereas this guy is standing there, feet planted between attacks. Movement and footwork aside, technique specifically, If you look at the technique for the punching as well, it is just plain bad. Pause the video during his "evasion, attack" cycle at ~5:40 seconds and you can see the way he drops his fist to his chest before firing off his punch. You are not only cutting the speed of your punch down massively by adding an extra motion you have to make when you punch, but you are making your punch far easier to react to, and dropping your defense unnecessarily for a brief moment. You drop your hand like that, I am either going to throw a quick jab, or back out of punching range into a kick. Anyone who is defending the technique in this video is simply in denial, and I ask that you go train with a boxer to find out for yourself how much speed and power there is when you learn proper technique. Don't believe some random guy in a youtube comment section, go try it. Go take a boxing course, and if you don't find the technique more efficient, then go back to this. I am just here to offer my opinions on his technique as someone who has been boxing for a while. Finally, for arguments sake, if this is seriously completely different then during the real fight because it's "training" then why tf are you training shitty lazy technique? You expect to improve by reinforcing inaccurate technique?
    The only thing I liked was the "Five punches" because they are fast and the technique isn't bad, but even then, I would probably say add some shuffling between each set cuz in a real fight you never stand there just banging punches out like a rock em sock em robot.

    ninjutsu is not martial arts, they are 2 different things...
    All combat methods are the same as used by the samurai, there are only slight differences in equipment, but hand-to-hand combat and the use of weapons are no different from traditional martial arts like kenjutsu, yari jutsu, shuriken jutsu, ju jitsu, or actually aikido/ karate and more.

    I generally like your training - however my first question would be regarding the alternating tsuki. Why would you float the rear foot back when you want all of the momentum of the strike travelling forward. The physics of the strike are such that you are automatically reducing the impact force due to some of your bodyweight moving away from the target.
    No?

    • @igottabasketballjones7420

      RealJutsu56 I don’t think you always want to deliver a crushing blow, a solid strike without compromising your balance and keep distance at the same time works well. Wait for the door to open to deliver the finishing blow, rather then force it and possibly get caught.
      That is my thought but to be honest I can’t speak for them, they may just be dumb LOL

      Hello Sir,
      As of now, becoming an AKBAN instructor necessitates one of two routes: either coming to Israel for a condensed learning visit or inviting me to teach.
      However I am in a process of videoing the Black belt requirements and then you'll have a third option of learning with these materials and getting my online feedback.
      It means a lot to me to have dedicated practitioners like you, so the technical standard must be kept high.
      Most of the material is organised on our wiki, on this page: www.akban.org/wiki/Portal:_Ninjutsu
      Please take a deep look at this.
      With respect,
      Yossi Sheriff

      I've seen high ranked BJJ practicioners knocked out before they could take anyone down. I've seen seasoned boxers choked out before they could throw a punch. And I've personally used ninjutsu to throw an opponent 1.5x my weight. The point is that MMA is a sport with rules, and in a fight with no rules, your style doesn't matter. What matters is survival, and all the martial arts ever made have been attempts to give people a better chance of survival when violence happens to them. The only reason a system wouldn't work is if it isn't tested under pressure, which is something AKBAN does. Walk in peace.

      Stoney Shibu ninjitsu is not for sport or competition. it's for survival and assassination. In the end, it's pretty dirty fighting for survival. A true ninja will avoid a fight or confrontation but when threatened there's no rules in their combat. Whatever works, from blinding the opponent with dirt, or striking the nuts. Anything can become a weapon for the ninja. I think Muay thai would beat ninjitsu in the ring because of rules. But on the street, the ninja could take their life quickly if they felt like it.

    This is a new trend, go on any random martial arts video. You will find comments like it's not real, mma is better etc etc. it is very disrespectful. If you actually get close to someone who has trained, their speed of punches are in milliseconds. If this was in MMA, you would not have long fights, there would just be people getting knocked out < 30 seconds. This does not make for good entertainment.

      You're wrong with this weak style you don't last long in a mma or kickboxing match.
      Here is the reason why: people who train ninjitsu styled arts can not take hard punches especially not low kicks.
      A good striker has deadly combo's witch are done thousands of time.
      Also the footwork is different a good boxer dances around you in a cirkle. Feet always follow. If you don't change levels high and low and when you do not have varied techniques, you're gonna get you're ass kicked.
      Iv'e trained 6 years tai jitsu thought i was good. After that trained with pro mma fighters and realized i was moving to stiff and no good offense.
      So no this is totally wrong. In dutch we have a saying. The translation of it means keep doing what you're good at, not trying something you don't know enough about.
      Learning the good way is ok. Learning the bad way takes a long time to get out of you're system.

      @@AkbanOrg ninjutsu is not a fighting system and there is no historical evidence about that - your weapon training is nice and useful in some aspects, yet the barehand fighting techniques function for you because you haven't met a fighter

    Alright I’ll say it. As a practitioner of ninjutsu, this is really bad. Remember, tsuki is ichi monji no kamae. Work on that.

    Name the scroll this is in. Because it's nowhere in any ninja manual. Shoninki, Bansenshukai or Ninpiden. Zero evidence of striking. Ninjutsu is not a martial art.
