Finally a podcast that talks sense , I'm. Utd fan and some of the comments I've heard from our fans are ludicrous, Ruben has a hell of a job on but I've got faith given time he will make us better , but any Utd fan with no patience needs to support someone else.
Yeah, but 'have patience' doesn't mean going over 2 years with no improvement, no style of play, slipping further and further down the league table and thinking everything will fine, like with the last guy.
Lfc fan. He does need to stick to his principles and system and he’ll need a few windows to get everyone he wants in and out. You do have a lot of players you paid too much for and the salaries they’re on make moving them out very hard as you’ve found with Maguire.
One thing I don't think people appreciate with Odegaard is his defensive work. He leads the press and tells the players where and when to press which allows the defenders to pick up loose passes or tackle players under pressure. He's so important for the team.
From a Sporting CP fan (please hear me out): it was a first time, in a long time, I watched a Man United game... and oh my god!!! The lack of quality and energy and commitment from those players is so frustrating... Sporting players are better, more dedicated, more committed, and more motivated... and that is the problem. It's just very poor... from the current Sporting starting 11, 8 would have a place in Man United's XI... Sporting was also like that when Rubén came in... trust him. Give him a chance and he will change the team
frustrating is absolutely the right word - I could see Ruben telling the players to push higher up the pitch but they took no notice. I hope Sporting continue to progress and win Liga Portugal.

Motivation and drive to go again has gone after recent years of titles and trophies..(that edge is gone).. top players are looking new contracts/other options.. PEP will rebuild and go again for next year.. fresh blood..
The only way any team maintains strength and success for a decade is when they are built from the ground up, with academy players becoming first team, kids who support you as 10 year olds becoming players at 18 etc. Football doesn't work like that anymore. It's all about immediate success; the 'Galactico' mindset. Buying success, in short. It's not just Man City...there are dozens of teams who do this, and they usually share the spoils tbf. But Man City, and their current loss of form, isn't a travesty of millionaire players phoning-it-in because they don't care. It isn't because Pep is suddenly a useless manager. It's because football, and football excellence is ultimately a human endeavor, and humans have a tendency to fuck things up, now and again. It doesn't matter how much money they get.... Lamborghinis break down for no reason, Rolex watches lose time, caviar rots into poison. Money, and the value of things, is largely something we make up. It won't be long before some Arab conglomerate buys a nowhere team and they suddenly become the best in the world.....Royal Antwerp or some shit. And then they will falter, and fail. And then it'll be someone else's turn. Leeds, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Real, Barca, Ac, Juve, Steaua Bucharest.... they were all 'Unbeatable' at some point. Until they weren't. Fuck it, it's just football. No point in chasing the dragon, expecting ONE team to remain the best, forever. The best thing about football isn't the expectation, it's the surprise.
Needs to play ugarte and kobie, his system and style of play would work better with them in the middle but lot of work to be done obviously.. As a longtime utd fan have to admit I've said since end of September that Liverpool will be city's main rivals and as much as it brains me to say it it's there's to throw away, I'm a football fan and a realist fairplay to Slot he's brought in Sablozi and just made them harder to beat..
Lfc fan. We haven’t got going yet, but I see that as a positive as we’re still 1st with a decent gap. City will bounce back I feel. I definitely wouldn’t count them out this early.
There just aren't 3 terrible teams in the Premier League this season. The most likely relegation candidates now look to be Southampton and Leicester, but Leicester might get a new manager bounce and Ipswich could continue playing as well as they have and narrowly miss out on staying up due to their inability to turn draws into wins
On the topic of Walker at Man City, I don't think he's getting slow or anything, but when he's been running for 70 or so minutes and you put a fresh pair of legs against him... He's going to get caught out, he's only human and having seen how Spurs tore them apart at the back this week, John Stones isn't doing him any favours at the back at the moment.
City have gone from a team with no centre forward for year to a team totally reliant on Haaland to finish their good work. He's not clicking and they don't have a plan B anymore.
Let’s hope for his sake that he gets more than the 12 games that Leicester gave Steve Cooper. If Man Utd are not top 6 by 24 games does Amorim get the sack??? Disgraceful Leicester City!!
The following may highlight my ignorance more than anything else, but I keep hearing various commentators, pundits and the like talking with authority about how Brighton are such a well run club with an exceptional model, and it can't be denied they've been very successful over the past few years. Why, then, is it not possible for other, less successful clubs, simply to emulate the Brighton M.O and achieve greater success themselves?...
I have to wonder if he wants to play high energy, quick press he can't be playing Casemiro and Eriksen as your midfield pair. They've got 20 mins in them not 90. Slightly strange decision, can't believe that'll be the go-to in 8 weeks time.
its quite simple really - man united dont have the footballing i.q overall - too many solo players that i assume look ok in training, but during a match when you need to adapt, they cant do it - rashford, casemiro, erikson and bruno need to go - until they go, we will see the same stuff over and over

At least talk a bit about forest, even if it’s about how bad they were. Only mentioned when saying who arsenal were against.
why has he got no contract offer? King of Egypt is an awesome player!
Congrats harry. Happy life
There just aren't 3 terrible teams in the Premier League this season.
Micah with the Lego Batman Tumbler in the background. Nice!
We just need Madders to play like it’s his Birthday everyday 🎉
Congratulations producer harry 🎉
the system wont work if u don't put the leg work in. serious problems with work rate throughout the squad
keeping the ball and scoring is our big problems needing sorting
The following may highlight my ignorance more than anything else, but I keep hearing various commentators, pundits and the like talking with authority about how Brighton are such a well run club with an exceptional model, and it can't be denied they've been very successful over the past few years. Why, then, is it not possible for other, less successful clubs, simply to emulate the Brighton M.O and achieve greater success themselves?...
Would you ever be willing to talk about lower leagues more instead of just the PL and international? It’d be interesting to get your opinions 😀
I have to wonder if he wants to play high energy, quick press he can't be playing Casemiro and Eriksen as your midfield pair. They've got 20 mins in them not 90. Slightly strange decision, can't believe that'll be the go-to in 8 weeks time.
Congratulations to Harry
straight of that bat. did not play garnacho as wing back.
Why would he mention Rashford's chains?
Exactly these people are daft and make statements like this and say it’s no agenda
36:12 thought you're not supposed to carry guns in
England Micha
its quite simple really - man united dont have the footballing i.q overall - too many solo players that i assume look ok in training, but during a match when you need to adapt, they cant do it - rashford, casemiro, erikson and bruno need to go - until they go, we will see the same stuff over and over
