Something a lot of new kpop fans don't know is Kai's solo part in EXO's 2014 MAMA is considered one of the main events for kpop's wider acceptance of ballet/contemporary dance; lots of idols began to share ballet/contemporary pieces after his performance~~ Kai was already getting respect for his dancing before this, but he really became an "idol of idols" after~~~
From 2012-2017, EXO has been one of the most popular boy bands to ever exist. People would specifically watch the MAMA'S waiting for Exo, like me. The MAMA'S were held at various locations, from Hong Kong to Singapore and Japan. Because artists from all of Asia were eventually included in the musical popularity of videos. It started in South Korea and expanded to music from all of Asia. It also started to be a 3 to 4 day long show, done in parts. In early 2010's The MAMA'S were cited as not being fair in judging the artists, and voted winners unfairly. So as of today, The MAMA'S still exists, but not much trust is put into the way the votes are counted. So it is looked at as not as reliable.

Thanks for your video! At the very beginning of the Growl performance, D.O. injured his leg and made it through the performance, but at the end he fainted backstage from pain. (I love Luhan too.)

I became an EXO fan after randomly watching EXO's 2013 MAMA performance and falling instantly in love with Luhan. I spent the next few days watching everything EXO I could, only to find out Luhan had left. I still became an EXO-L, cause I had grown attached to the others, but I also stayed a Luhan fan~~~^.^
@@toriecarter2711 Omg same here, the Exo mama 2013 performance got me into the fandom. I watched it back in 2015 (when I just knew about kpop) and Luhan was my bias, and then I watched every other performance and show Exo starred on, and my first ever comeback as an Exol was Monster/Lucky one, I remember it as if it was yesterday, everyone was going crazy over the comeback the boys were trend everywhere for just doing simple things. (If you recall the clip of when Sehun picked up a fan’s phone that she dropped, it went viral lol). Ugh Good old days I wish I could live this era again with all its moments, It was beyond fun and amazing. I might have been a lil sad for some time that later on Exo lost some opportunities for them to be MORE well known internationally, and some things changed for example the fact that they stopped attending the award shows while other idols of their gen did for 3 more years, and also limited their activities, but now I’m just happy that they still around and make music.
