We miss the Bands and we miss the Celebration Bowl. We are still angry about how Coach Sam Washington was let go. The Fans and Student Body and Former Players hated how we left. AD Earl is stubborn about admitting him in the former Chancellor made a mistake. People are not enthused about this new conference. I think the new Chancellor is more open about going back.
Name a game outside of playing another HBCU or at Homecoming that the Student Section or Home Side was filled up in the past 2-3 years? Elon? Delaware? Towson St? Richmond? Then 40% of the Students and Supporters showing up leaves after the Blue and Gold completes their Halftime Show! I been attending Games since 1980 (Age 10 with my Late Father and Uncle (Class of 70). Season Ticket (Sections V Row 23, Seat 28). Empty Seats in front, beside and behind me 3 of the 5 of the season other than Hampton and WSSU Games. People aren't feeling the CAA. Plus Delaware left because they said it's too many teams now in the CAA and they can't play their rivals (James Madison and Villanova). When we joined the Big South, Monmouth and Kennesaw State left because they said the Conference was getting too big. It's funny that after Hampton and A&T joined them. While White Schools are getting rid of their DEI Hires, Minority scholarships and stopping Black Organizations. Plus ending African American AP Courses and banning Black Books. Some of you want to join forces with these schools that don't want us. They just want our wallets.

You’re right they should’ve never left. They had natural rivals in Virginia and North Carolina and they went to that conference and what did they do they have really no fans interest so going back to the MEAC is the right thing to do
Their presentations to the state showed the reasons they had left the MEAC and then there was issues with the MEAC leadership at the time. I do think with the MEAC footprint not being Florida anymore and the ESPN tier 1 media deal is up for renewal, then the new MEAC leadership has an opportunity to bring both Hampton and A&T back if they get the right level of deal and don't go too far south when expanding.
FloSports 1 million subscribers. ESPN+ 26 million subscribers. Brother, we don't make that much from the streaming deal and something can be said for access. As far as marketing and promoting the school, ESPN platforms are far superior. Only people with FloSports are those with an intent to watch particular teams and disposable income. FloSports ain't cheap!

Earl Hilton followed orders. Hilton is not an administrator who goes out on a limb without his boss’ wishes. The Big South, CAA and Coach Brown hire fit the criteria and mission of former Chancellor Martin.

Savannah State is not going to happen because they were not financially solid d to go to the MEAC, hence why they had to drop back down. I think with FAMU and BCU gone, it puts the MEAC footprint back where it needs to be for expansion.

the bigger issue is that A&T and Hampton will be making less money by being in the MEAC (conference payout). I think one important factor is how better the new tier Media deal is going to be for the MEAC.
I think game attendance should be a factor in deciding whether we should stay or go back. If fans aren't attending then we aren't making money. Also, the band should be able to play more in the stands.

For the ones saying we made more money from Flo Sports, we are at the bottom 2 of a 14 Team League with our Sports facilities. Hampton is at the bottom with us. ESPN Plus carries all the SWAC, MEAC and Tennessee St while we hardly can be found. Plus ESPN is carried in more homes. People putting down the MEAC, but NCCU, Delaware St and SCST either beat or competed better than A&T against the CAA than us. Central has beaten Elon at least. It be our people that always thinking the water is cooler onthe other side. But the other side don't want us. Delaware is leaving because they said it's too many teams in the conference. Monmouth and Kennesaw State left the Big South Because they said it was too many teams in the conference. It's funny that these teens love for A&T and Hampton joined.
I’m not sure why people think our game attendance was stellar in the MEAC towards the latter years. People just don’t go to games physically like they used to across the board compared to yesteryear. If we’re banking on gate sales being the income source to sustain our athletic program then going back to the poorly run MEAC won’t help that effort. Winning solves all whines.
That's just a pipe dream, unfortunately.☹ Both schools tried club football for a while over a decade ago, and you see it didn't evolve into varsity. UMES REALLY wanted to come back, especially since a lot of the older alums have fond memories of their program from the 50s, 60s and early 70s. But those memories and attempts to bring back FCS/MEAC football still fell short, and I haven't heard any real efforts to try to start up again.

It was not the AD call to leave the MEAC, as the President and board vote to leave the MEAC. They had a whole presentation to state of North Carolina why they was leaving. I do think if the MEAC had held off on going D1, all those years ago, when all the founding schools was ready, then FAMU\BCW would not have join the conference and A&T does not leave the MEAC.

Naw, our AD is awesome.. we are one of the few HBCU athletic programs that operate in the black..
