You may already know this, but they do sell individual magnets in packages or you can buy it on a roll where you can make it as long or short as you want it. I make minis and some of them that I make are magnets.

At some point did you bake the clay?
I'm pretty sure she did🤷♀️
Some clay just needs to be air-dried, so she could be using that kind. It dries after about 24 hours but it can also be cooked to make it harden faster. But if you’re not in a hurry, you don’t need to bake the air-drytype. The video doesn’t specify what she used 🤷♀️

Does this clay dry on its own and harden up?
The polymer clay needs an owen in 130° celsius to dry completely.

maybe it's some kind of a hollow cap or a finial? I saw them use a gold one in another video. Size wise, that would make sense. Just a guess.
