- Getting a brilliant ride from Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Brian Hernandez, who picked up the mount on the 3-year-old mare, 7-1 shot Waves of Mischief nailed favored Pin Up Betty to take Sunday's $400,000* Pucker Up Stakes (G3) for 3-year-old fillies at Ellis Park, the meet's only graded stakes. The victory gave her an entry fees-paid spot in the $1.6 million* Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 11. Afterward we speak with Hernandez and Paul Madden, assistant to trainer Brendan Walsh, who won three of the seven Kentucky Downs Preview Weekend stakes and who is the defending meet champ at Kentucky Downs.
