I am Italian, so I have been in quarantine for more than two weeks, I discovered your channel because I was bored and I didn't know what to do so I was schercing for water monitors video (it's one of my favorite animals) and I got the video where you swam with slinky, I saw some others videos and I was realy impressed by how beautiful your channel is.
I found this channel when lumpy was sick. The dedication, love and fantastic wealth of information he has for his animals keeps me coming back. I hope you stay healthy and entertained in the weeks to come.
Im watching this vid now and im so sad that Marty is gone. Always loved the Mertens monitor and absolutely loved your Marty. RIP Marty. I think im not the only one who will miss him :(
is it possible to film some kind of timelapse of lagatha wandering around in her cage, im curious to see how she moves around on the branches and stuff. in usually see her sitting on a branch. awesome video tho !
I have a bearded dragon that I just recently rescued he has MBD (metabolic bone disease) so I have to hand feed and water him. He cant walk so he just snakes around. His previous owner had no idea how to take care of him they left him without a light for over a week and didn’t know how to feed him. He was cold wouldn’t move, wouldn’t open his eyes, and was barely breathing when I got him. He had sand in his tank which can cause impacting. He’s doing so amazing now I’ve had him for about a month. I’m so happy he pulled through. I love watch Kenan’s videos because of his conservation efforts and the education he is giving people. Especially kids. Thanks for the videos keep it up. ❤️
I was gonna say because of the recent events and you can go out much you could try ball training the big lizards so they know when the ball comes out there is food so they dont think everytime your in there you have food. It is only a suggestion I have seen other people do
After being hit with squirrel juice, maybe also show us how you disinfect. It might be a teachable moment in these times. What disinfectant not to use around your animale etc etc.
Hey Kenan! Thank you for keeping up with your videos during this time. They've been such a reprieve from the news, stress, and chaos for me the past few weeks. Hope you and your family are well - keep up the great work! Jess
Absolutely amazing animal!!! Truly she's a awesome Monitor Lizard!!! 😍😎😍 I can't wait till she trusts you Kenan!!! Keep up the great and amazing work man!!! Also great job editing Tom we love you too!! 😊😉 So excited to see the lizard enclosures when your finished with them cause they look amazing already!!! Very exciting stuff going on at Kemp Kenan during all this hectic stuff. Thank you for sharing, now I gotta go clean snake enclosures. ☺😊😉 P.S .I hope everyone's staying safe and healthy!!! Sending prayers for everyone that's effected during this devastating time. 🙏God bless you Kenan, Kate, Sophia, Leo, & last but not least Tom!!! ❤ We love you all stay strong and positive, we will all get through this rough time TOGETHER!!! 💪😁☺
Kenan are you sure you haven’t done theater before?! 😂 You make my blood pressure go up when you prove your point that she knows she your hand isn’t food.
How would Slinky behave if he saw a stranger? I'm thinking his behavior would be different? I didn't know water monitors even existed until I found your channel many months ago and started watching it. And to my amazement I really love Slinky! And the big tortoises you have! Today our governor issued the official Stay At Home and that will go on until April 24. Although many places have been closed here for about 2 weeks already. We are still allowed to go outside to exercise though or to go to the store; we just need to stay away from others. I hope it works as the number of people with the virus keeps rising!
Hey not to piss anyone off with comment but my neighbor goes and rescues every squirrel he can from his tree cutting buddies. Ans now he is getting squirrels from all over Florida and he is getting them big enough to go and be on there own. Well once he is done they get released right in his yard and unfortunately we have the 2 biggest trees on the block on the sameside as the canal. Well now alot of the other neighbors on our block are complaining about all the tree rats. And trust me he has been letting at least 2 to 4 squirrels go in his yard every year for almost 3 years. Now 2 out of 3 are females now we have so many i cant even build outdoor enclosures for my Cyclura or my other animals because they terrorize everything. We all have threathened to take action but how can we its still a cute living creature. Anyways im stuck in a little predicament. Anyway love the vid Kenan. Lol
im already seeing a difference just from the first video with her to now, she wouldn't come near you and she was running around. thats awesome shes an awesome lizzard
Kenan, would Tom be open to you filming some of his patented Croc Monitor taming techniques? What a treat that would be 🙏🏼😃🤘🏼Also, I’m in NJ so many thanks for keeping us educated, entertained and pleasantly distracted through this lockdown. You rock! 🤠
Time and patience and a nice snack is all that’s required to tame a monitor. My year old Nile is now close to 4ft and is a doll. Now he has his moments where he doesn’t wanna be touched but even then as soon as I get him out he goes to my shoulder and arm now and just sits there and looks out the window
Lagertha is beautiful I agree with what you say about monitors aren't good pets I work with a variety of reptiles and breed some reptiles and I will never sell an animal to someone who doesn't have the experience or training for the reptile because it just becomes a big problem
You're a real inspiration to me and many more kenan! i hope one day i can have something as amazing as your property and help educate others about reptiles and animals just like you.
kenan, after you put the gopro in the water the microphone gets filled with water. I think that if you could blow a little on the microphone after you put it in the water, the sound would get better. Love your videos by the way
Hey Kenan, just an idea i had. What if you added a feeding door to Lagerthas enclosure? That way she would learn to associate that specific door with feeding and you could even add a platform inside that she could stage on come feeding time. Then when you enter the full door she knows shes not being fed and she might not be so aggressive or frightened due to her blindness. What do you think? She is gorgeous by the way and me and my wife love the name, my green iguana has a female warrior name to "XENA" , lol.
The pattern on that monitor in Australia was beautiful!! Lovely, lovely. Does anyone know what kind of monitor it was?? I'm thinking maybe a perentie... 💖🐢💖
Hey Kenan, I'm a huge fan. I always hear great birds in the background of your videos, Florida is a magical place for birds and stuff is really active this time of year. I'd love to see some videos of the birds, herps, and other creatures that live wild at the kamp.
Kenan do you like the idea of the ball technique for feeding like Brian B does? I know you are not dealing with children visiting your animals but it seems interesting. Nothing is fool proof they are still animals. But like you said humans are just as predatory. I love how much Slinky has grown mentally and physically. Love you bro!
Got a question Kenan.....what if anything would Slinky refuse to eat? Also wonder if he was full after consuming two squirrels. Talk about a fast eater! Hunker down and stay healthy....Kate and kids as well.
You don’t have to target train an iguana they don’t have a feeding response like monitor lizard do. You can certainly train an iguana I have my green iguana trained like a little dog but all I need for that was some time and patience and some fruit
Are you considering adding blue/white/yellow (or any other colour) balls on sticks for target training with the monitors like many other places have started in the last few years? I know one of the zoos in London does it with a white ball with a very large Komodo dragon & I've seen other people do it with Nile monitors, perentie & lace monitors but there are many other species of monitors that seem to have the same intelligence levels as the bigger monitors.
I think they are on an overflow system set on a timer so the water is not stagnent. I would like to know what steps he takes to prevent mosquitos, could be a mini video
Blake Soller, I’m not sure an overflow system would help, those larvae swim to the bottom too. I know there’s a supposedly safe bacterial tablet you can use in water but idk really how safe it would be for the lizards. Just wondering if he had a solution, I hate mosquitoes.
Awsome video as always 🤘 maby a second door opposite side of the current one on lagartha's encolsure could be a pratical feature for you. Keep up the amazing work, love it 🙌
Will pinky get any bigger so she can breed with slinks I know you tried before I'm just wondering are you waiting for her to get bigger or you going to try again
aww, gonna be honest I felt for all these poor dead animals :( and got very scared when your hand was so close to the monitor lizard's face, be careful Kenan :)
That's pretty cool! I'm enjoying lizards vicariously through your video today. Don't you worry about parasites? Maybe you have a way to eliminate them in the local food.
Hey Kenan, I have a possibly dumb question: do your tortoises have any issue eating the dry pellets you feed them? Aren't they too hard or big, and can the torts crunch them or do they swallow them whole? I'm asking because I recently started to use some small dry pellets for my little hermann's, and I thought they are probably too hard for the little guy, so I only gave them so far after a little soaking. Should I simply feed them dry and not bother with water?
what is your best advise for switching a snake from mice to rats. I've tried everything and one of them will stop eating for a week or two if I even offer her a rat.
Cant want to see the cyclura in their new enclosures safe from the big dog slinky haha it also looks to be a bit bigger than most of their current enclosures which is always a good thing good stuff Kenan
Holy moley!!! Cringeworthy moments @13:45 thanks for sharing your either really brave or trust is key that was awesome to watch I squealed and was telling you nooo please don't bite it will ruin the show!😂😂

Yes Slinky definitely needs a huge enclosure with a bigger pond even though the pond has is nice he just need something bigger
I was gonna say because of the recent events and you can go out much you could try ball training the big lizards so they know when the ball comes out there is food so they dont think everytime your in there you have food. It is only a suggestion I have seen other people do
Awesome Kenan! Great work with lagitha

After being hit with squirrel juice, maybe also show us how you disinfect.
It might be a teachable moment in these times.
What disinfectant not to use around your animale etc etc.
You mean shaving? That was official doctors recomendation for theese times.

I love Agatha’s enclosure and I’m so excited for Slinky’s expanded enclosure 😍🤯
Kenan are you sure you haven’t done theater before?! 😂 You make my blood pressure go up when you prove your point that she knows she your hand isn’t food.
Thank you for the video... we need it in times like these ... stay safe
your correct bro! we need more videos :)

from srilanka love ur vdos
Such a gentleman, making sure you don't have squirrel juice on your face before you kiss the Mrs 😂 And they say chivalry is dead! 🤣
Where can I find a captive breed Mertens Water Monitor in the US? I would also get a wild caught if that's all I could find.

Kenan, I have a question. If you could have one animal which one would it be
I hope he replies. I am very curious what he would choose.
Komodo dragon is way up on the list!🤠
@@KampKenan that would be awesome.
@@KampKenan would it be possible for you to have a komodo dragon?? I mean are there any laws to say you can't have one.
that would be really cool
Those iguana enclosures are coming along so well!!!

T-Shirt Idea: I GOT SQUIRREL JUICE ON MY BEARD!
All of your reptiles are amazing and fun to watch!
Marty goes the extra mile to make sure his food is dead.
😛
He was my fav so sad what happened to him I hope he finds out why he died
I’m so sad he passed
Love the Extreme Mowchine !! I have a 60 inch 32 hp .. That was amazing the way Lagatha coiled up her tail like a bullwhip .

Are you guys growing fruit for your animals? You seem to have a great climate for growing fruit !
You have developed a good trust with lagatha she was very diffrent b4 nice work kenan lot of learning

Nevermind...I just realized he said that's what kind it was.

“Don’t bite me on film” 😂
"theres the neighbors dogs, stars of the show as well.. anyway..." haha
15:49 Slinky, even tho the squirrel was in his mouth: Oops, sorry.

If the Reptilians ever show up you’ll deftly be spared Kenan lol
It always fun to watch a lizard or reptile eating tq my man
👍
I had a pet squirrel, too, named Brat Rat lol, he was a sweet little thing. Big lizards are definitely my favorite company to keep, however.
always looking forward for your new videos! keep it up!

omg how Lagertha had her tail wound up and ready to strike. she's awesome!

Lagertha has come a long way. Marty killed that headless chick dead, twice! lol Slinky looks great. Thank you for sharing ✌🏻❤️. Stay safe
That was awesome thanks Kennan
Do you treat the water in all the cages somehow for mosquitos?
I think they are on an overflow system set on a timer so the water is not stagnent. I would like to know what steps he takes to prevent mosquitos, could be a mini video

It looks like you're already making some good progress with Lagatha - she's really gorgeous!
aww, gonna be honest I felt for all these poor dead animals :( and got very scared when your hand was so close to the monitor lizard's face, be careful Kenan :)
open the whole thing up for Slinky and make the water feature a little bigger?
Maybe you should start trying clicker training or get a bell for lagatha ??
That’s a cool new cage you got there!
Just an idea but how about you give guapo an Lola's enclosure to pinky?
Looks like a few cages what iguanas will be going in each?
What will happen to the existing mesh? Will you sell it? I’ll be interested in buying some. I’m in Florida and could pick it up
Hi Jeffrey, could you please contact me at steph_bromilow@knitwire.com? This is our mesh, I can provide you with a quote. Many thanks!

Your monitors are dope!
Thanks Kenan
Just a thought. But have you ever thought about giving Slinky a natural pond like the Asian turtles or future crocodilians?
Can we get an update on the Galapagos
Sure thing🤠
Thanks for sharing your beautiful monitors Im doing research now and watching you so I'll hopefully be prepared for one of my own a small species 😁

Wow marty be awesome. More please!
Hey before I watch can somebody tell me if there’s any live food being fed as I can’t watch!
No live food. The food has passed on and was frozen and then thawed to be fed to the animals.
Jess H great thank you for letting me know!
Holy moley!!! Cringeworthy moments @13:45 thanks for sharing your either really brave or trust is key that was awesome to watch I squealed and was telling you nooo please don't bite it will ruin the show!😂😂
