Great videos. One thing missing though is how to measure the lights with the meter. It is great to see that you use a light meter as now they are a rare thing to see. Maybe you could even give more detail and show how you measured the different lights and the readings you got, thus the aperture you used. Thanks.
thought lights shodows eeffect was trippy i always like messing around with lights shdows with flash light just see what kinda funky light effect you can mkae by messing around
Only explaining three lights and have two fill one behind and a side huge octa. You guys can get the same look with one beauty dish like 8 feet from the model and one light on the background w a 7" reflector and gel.
Dude be happy with free great stuff. There might be million ways to do something but it is very rare to see great videos The way he works is total perfectionist way and he loves to get it right in camera .. Just attend his light shaping seminar and you will know what I mean..
A diagram would've been nice to explain the effect. Also, he said that he removed both diffusers from the soft box, but then you can see the assistant placing the colored gels on the outer diffuser and then covered with a grid. If you're going to explain the technique Profoto, then show it clearly!
there are 2 diffusers in the soft box. the inner and outer layer. so he was referring to removing the 2 layers of the diffusers on the softbox which was facing the model to get the harsh light which will cause the shadow on the background. The other softbox was used to cast the colored light on the background essentially 'coloring' the shadow.
Great work!! Hardly wait for next video!!
Happy to hear :)
I always enjoy your videos and learn a lot from them. It just gave me a lot of great ideas for my next studio shoot !! Thank you.

***** Welcome Andrea.. Hope to see your live session soon.
***** Hi there..I am based in UAE
I have seen one of your profoto presentations live..
why diddnt you just wrap the colour gel directly on the moddelling/flash tube light?

The key-light (the one lighting the model) had the diffusers removed (to get the hard shadow). The light which colored the shadow had the grid on it.
