This was honestly, one of the greatest trips of my life. I almost can't believe we really did this. It was impactful and awe-inspiring. Mark, this video is so good, informative and wow (!!) the video is bringing tears to my eyes.
I just like to say that your videos are SUPER helpful. I’ve visited a ton of countries and I always look at your videos before I go. I think you should look into printing pocket guide books. I wouldn’t take a trip without one. I’m thinking something like Rick Steves stuff - but for all the destinations outside of Europe. Thanks again for all the info!
I went in 97.. seeing this brought back so many happy memories!! Thanks! 🥰🦁🦁😎 (I used 17 rolls of film on my Safari in Kenya and Tanzania) We fell asleep to the sound of gnu migration (stayed in the Serengeti Sopa). Amazing sunsets there!
Wolter I love your channel, I even love your typical dad jokes 😂 keep it up. You have inspired me to make my own channel I'm just waiting for the lockdown to be over so I can start filming
I'm glad I can help inspire bad puns and jokes ;) good luck on your channel. If you want some tips I have a Playlist on my "professor Wolters" channel that talks about how to get your channel off on the right foot. Good luck fellow travel vlogger!
Yep! I visited The Serengeti, The Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangeri, and The Maasai Mara and Amboseli in Kenya Next door, and you are spot on! I stayed in the Sopa Lodges throughout for comfort (Tents sounded scary to my wife!) Great video!
I really appreciate the honesty in your videos. No other safari video I've watched so far mentioned the "behind the jeep" thing or how to avoid the bugs. Thank you!
This was the best video I've watched so far, I have been to africa before but it was all planned and now I want to go again. I'm a bit more picky on what I want to see.
@@Ndstars1 depends on what you mean with enough? We were at Nyati for 10 days with Safari everyday in foot or Jeep. Only a single day in Krüger park itself. We were tired by the end of it. But would I have taken the day long journey to South Africa from Denmark two weeks later? Yes I would.
Amazing! Never really had a desire to make that trip, but as usual, you made it sound interesting and accessible. Great job Mark, that was your magnum opus.
I always seen Mark as the goofier Dad version of Rick Steves (love his books, but I can't watch his videos they're so paint dry). Even if I don't have any interest in visiting a particular place, Mark makes it fun to learn about it!
You should also mention about checking shoes and/or bed for Snakes because it’s a real thing out there. Also be familiar with the types of venomous snakes in that part of the world...mine in South Africa and Botswana we encountered quite a few
Idea for the quarantine: What about a video of your favorite souvenirs? I was watching "What NOT To Buy When You Travel" and you mention some things you love. By the way, great content as always!
Would love to visit the Serengeti! Was tossing up between that and India last year and ended up going to India, which was absolutely incredible. Thanks for the tips Mark 👍
@@woltersworld I went in the end of December, it was very dry, the waterholes were dry so was hard to find the animals. But it was my first safari, so it was amazing anyway! Namibia is a great country. Many things to explore. It was totally worth it!
That was awesome. Loved every minute of this video. Your generosity, easy to be with, very knowledgeable and lots of great clips. Thank you for giving more clarity on planning for our safari.
Awesome video as always, Mark. You mentioned twice that it's important to take crisp bills to pay for things. I must have missed the explanation for why this is important? Love your videos and your recent livestreams. You guys rock 😍.
@@woltersworld i can't wait to see Rwanda. I admire a country that took "turn the other cheek" to an extreme, and I want to see how they live together after the tragedies.
Very cool. I've been to South Africa but not to the Serengeti. I loved it while I was there. I think that a lot of people underrate some of the African locations.
Hi Minkyann, I was thinking about going with the company for a safari tour. I wanted to know how long was your stay snd how where the tour guides and accommodations?
@@moade4612 Hello Mo, For my Tanzania trip, I think I stayed for 9 days/8 nights. I made sure I hit the places I wanted to visit. My tour guide, Isaac, was amazing. He knows the route and places to go. He made sure that we maximize the day in order to see as much animals in the Serengeti. Accomodations were nice. If you want the luxurious accommodations, you just let them know. I took the medium-luxury accommodations during this trip. I used Shadows of Africa when I went to Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya. They never failed my expectations. Hope this is helpful. 🙂
We used to an occasional blog here and there and they would get 10% of the views our other videos would so we stopped making them on a regular basis. Its weird because so many people have asked for vlogs I would have thought it would have been more popular
What vaccines did you get before going for Safari? I'm overwhelmed reading the info online, planning to go to Kenya (Masai Mara), flying directly from the US.. Thank you so much for your videos. They're so helpful and fun to watch!!
I can't wait for my travel to Tanzania (November this year). Any tips for those who are going on a self-drive safari, besides luck with the time and good hands to drive? ahah
Mark & Jocelyn, We are going to Botswana in June 2021, "Inshallah". Are there any different recommendations you would make for the Okavango and that northern area of Botswana. We are going with a very experienced guide and plan on spending a few days in Cape Town either before or after the safari. Any recommendations?
So helpful! What safari company did you end up going with? Also, you reference the different price tiers/experiences. What price range would you say applies to the budget, mid-price, and luxury? Thanks!
Hey , please let me know which companies are Good for middle budget tours . I want to do whole Tanzania Uganda, a custom made tour for 2 of us or a small group like 2 to 3 more people . Please guide
At least everyone will have plenty of face covering masks and be used to wearing them when all this is over and we can travel again. African nations need to keep strong on their vaccination and inoculation requirements.

Will you both be offering the itinerary for this trip on your website? like tour companies, etc

Excellent video as always. I've never even considered traveling to Africa but wow you made it look really fun.
Nyati safari in South Africa. Best time ever. I have to come back there for safari in greater Krüger park.
Is 2 days/2 nights enough for Kruger (end of May (2021), so just the beginning of their winter) ?

The US has changed the bills over the years and old bills are hard for service providers (including the border) to get banks to take
