You frequently plant right up to house walls. Are there concerns about watering and damaging the foundation?

I think a nice touch would’ve been to re-oil the older fence to bring it back to life and blend it in, but I don’t know if that would’ve made a difference

No oil needed on the sides?? I didn't know that..
One would think ALL of the Coreten in the world was in Australia. I cannot find any, in stock, here. Or, very few and far between. I live in Southern Utah. :(

If you look at 5:03 you can see they used a level. On second look, it does appear that way. You might be right too. Sometimes taking a snapshot on an angle can make things appear uneven.
