@@justsomenapalm5067 it's his acceleration and top end speed at the moment, imho. Hs first 10m (start) are on point. For instance, he split 1.84s iirc in Rome whereas Usain split 1.88s in Berlin 09. At 30m, though, Bolt was already 3.78s and Tebogo was 3.80s, already behind Bolt. At 60m, Tebogo is 6.41s and Usain 6.31s. That's a massive difference in acceleration and top end.

For the sake of comparison I'd like to point out Yohan Blake's 19.26 from 2011, where his final 100m split was 9.12 seconds (fastest ever). In that race, his awful start (reaction time of 0.269) is basically why the WR holder is still called Usain Bolt. This is proof that you don't necessarily need to be a 9.7 runner on the 100 meters to break this record, a bend around 10 seconds flat can be enough.
Michael Johnson's respective split for his 19.32 was 9.18.

I think 9.58s is tougher though.
That's 6.31s at 60m, like you pointed out and then 3.27s from 60-100m. Who's running those splits? Lyles split 3.35s as his fastest. Tyson Gay split 3.32s as his fastest ever.
They're far away and this is only from 60-100m.... They're nowhere near at 60m coming out of the blocks...
In the 200m, Bolt's curve sets his record apart imo, but his finish has been surpassed by a couple of guys, so his 19.19s seems more beatable. I do agree with you, though, that it won't be easy, unlike some folks make it seem. Nobody has gone sub 10.05s in the curve other than Bolt, so the 2nd fastest guy in the curve (Tyson Gay) was already 0.13s behind at the 100m mark, lol. Bolt had a stride 6 to 12 inches wider than all of his competitors. That's why he has those world records. No man under 6 3" ever has a prayer of running 9.57 or 19.18. Let's be clear about that.
The most impressive sprinter to ever live given his height isn't Bolt. It's Yohan Blake. To run 19.26 and 9.69 at only 5 11". Is far more impressive than what Bolt did.

    • @Yes_I_c4n
      @Yes_I_c4n 15 дней назад

@@stevemann1299 More impressive? Lol, what has height got to do with it? Bolt was unique in the sense his turnover wasn't as slow as one would expect for such a tall sprinter, and so turnover and stride length made a deadly combination. Regardless, nothing prevents a shorter sprinter from having such a turnover that he surpasses Bolt's speed.
Look at Gay, that much shorter and not that much slower, top end wise. Ok, slower than Bolt, but also faster than any other taller guy, Powell, Gatlin, Spearmon, etc.
Bolt is far more impressive than Blake. 6ft5 guy splits 3.78s at 30m, 6.31s at 60m? It's not just about stride length at all.

He's too short to break Usain bolts world record. Being 6 foot 5 tall his Average stride length was 2.44m long tebogo being just 6 feet tall his stride length is probably 2.30 meters long . Not long enough period. Gout gout is coming soon anyw

@@aaronmbaye6498 he’s actually not far from running the same speed as his 100-200m time which is more top speed, bigger issue is the first 100m which doesn’t have as much to do with his height in my opinion..

Tebogos close in his 19.50 is acc the same as bolts I believe he split 10.23/9.27 (bolt went 9.92/9.27)
So evidently the issue is his bend running, being 0.3 far from bolt. Tebogos best shot at a 200 wr is the same as lyles yet more unproven. He needs to go 10.0/1 and a 9.0-1 to break it.
      Noah the same

Yohan Blake is 5”11 inches yet he was able to run 19:26 even tho he had a bad start. Tebogo is 6 feet tall. With time we will see what he can do or if he can be close enough to beat Yohan’s record.

Unfortunately no. As you've noted he and everyone else competing today sre simply not fast enough. There's zero chance of Tebogo running 9.6 so the 200 will also never happen. He needs to run the bend in 9.90. Same problem Lyle's has had and he also hasn't run a faster final 100 than Usain. His final 100 last year was faster and that shows the impact attempting to run the first 100 faster, has. Something everyone seems to forget. Bolt could have easily run a 9.15 second 100 but he gave up that to burn 9.9 bends. It's just not going to happen. Also....10m? 😂😂😂 Its a big gap but its only 3.1m

Bolt was a freak. This has long been established. Built like a basketball player with very fast legs.
It was like watching an adult running with kids. He was 6 5.5" in his prime. Nobody at the top of sprinting today is 6 5.5" so it's not going to happen. Someone has to have similar gifts to him to improve upon his records. Lyles 19.31 at only 5 10" tall is to me as impressive as Bolts 19.19.
The Jamaican Kishane Thompson. Could have run 9.6 in the Jamaican Trials. If he had gone flat out. He made 9.77 look very easy. So it's about taking your opportunity when it comes...
Because the sprint gods don't hand them out very often. Imagine Bolt ran 9.58 and 19.19 just shy of his 23rd birthday. Then for the remaining 7 years of his career couldn't better them.
Michael Johnson was the opposite. His world records came at nearly 29 for the 200m and nearly 32 for the 400m.

@@JayJordan-vy9jj Yes I know but off a slower first 100. That's the point. It's not a one way street otherwise everyone would be going absolutely flat out already in terms of absolute acceleration, which they're clearly not. If you put more effort into acceleration your second half will suffer. Additionally Noah hasn't really improved. It's one of the most amazing pieces of narrative creation in sprinting history. He ran 19.50 five years ago and has run only within 0.04 of that except on one occasion. i.e other than one race, there's no evidence for improvement. In the 100m, he ran 9.86 in a random one off race while not even training for it, also five years ago! 😅 It's quite amazing that everyone thinks he's materially improved. He's just unbelievably consistent and has remained injury free for an almost record period of time for an ultra elite level sprinter.
