Yamaha R1 has basically remained unchanged for 10 years and is way down on power to the Beemer and Duc. I love Yamaha (having owned 11) but they desperately need horsepower!
@@drsrsv8884 they aren't outdated motorcycles. Both R1 and zx10r were just down on power, nothing else. Ducati put a retuned motoGP engine build with no ceiling for cost and revving to the moon into street going frame. No wonder Ducati was most powerful. Especially with rider that has 17kg weight advantage, lol, weight equalization long overdue to say least.

Best of luck John, it won't be easy, competiting against Alvaro and his V4R, or toprak and his BMW. Those are modern machines, the R1 is almost a decade old😬
Riding is spot on , Ducati's Engine is unstoppable & now only BMW may have something to push the power , Yam for life but it needs a redesign which to V4 in this stage of the world isn't worth it

High JR, any thoughts on this seasons calendar? Apart from Phillip Island it looks like DORNA are turning World Superbikes into European Superbikes only ! It seems a cost cutting measure that could ultimately loss a lot of fans ! Good luck for the coming season aboard the Blue Bike personally I think Green suited you ! Damn it completely forgot you where doing a q and a. got a real question for you hanging up the helmet on racing dirt 26yrs of riding 23 of them racing.decide to hug a tree at speed got impaled throw the front broke some ribs and broke my back some how missed my heart and lungs but hey got to look on the upside right got a free helicopter ride 😁 i have ridden road for the last 13 yrs got a mt 09 and a vtr at the moment looking at buying a r15 to get into road racing i am comfortable on bigger bikes my budgets not the comp i am joining has decent level riders its kinda a feeder to the 300 asbk like wanye clark and troy Bayliss race in it for them its just fun i plan on going pretty hard looking for a team basically so the main thing i need to know is on a little bike like a r15 would you run slicks or streets the tracks aint Phillip island i am in nsw most our tracks are small and tight is there any advantage with running the slick in that class or waste of money sorry this was super long as a Australian i hope you come 2nd this yr i got everything crossed for remy 😂 just farking with you love that you joined the blue cru
I've not seen Bautista in person, but 66kg with leathers🙄But I agree with You, I think he could even gain some performance from a weight gain in some areas...

Why can't yamaha make something sexy, with a single sided swingarm, V4, and sell it for around 20K? The Japanese just care about money, not making fun motorcycles. They peaked in the 90s.

I think if the minimum weight is 80KG then it should be 80KG not the balance owing at 50% discount. I hope you win this year Jonathan.
Glen Irwin should get some WSBK wild card entries - i think he could be top ten place, or higher on tracks he knows.
