Enjoyable video, you will get better results with your pinpointing if you start the PP away from your target and not right on top of it…
    Thx, happy days SteveK

    Bob, Great video
I have been using the F22 since March and I really don't use the Pinpoint feature. Seems like I am always fighting mine from overloading or just stopping at random. I usually just drop down and hit the surface with my pin pointer and if the target is within 3 to 4 inches that does the trick. I also run at 7 in jewelry mode with seems a little hotter(depth) and if I am unsure of the target I will switch to coin to check the signal. A little trick I have been playing with is dropping the sensitivity to 2 or 3 and checking close to playground equipment and found a dozen quarters this way. a 33-35 is tricky could be a pull tap, eraser head, or nickel. The 50's have usually been the newer pennies and low 63-64 older pennies including wheat. 68 dime and 72-78 always a quarter. You seem to know almost right where the coin is though could you maybe explain where the coin is in relation to the coil. I am still struggling a bit with this teardrop style coil. I use the all metal mode at really trashy sites and go slow and if it jumps above 30 I usually dig and found my 1st Indian head right next to an old nail! I saw Bill Ladd doing this method with the Makro and it is easy to emulate with the F22. Are you preferring the F22 over your Tesoro?

Hi Travis, thanks for watching! You have some great ideas and I will definitely try them. Pinpointing just takes a lot of practice. I'm probably too meticulous but I want to be right on the target before I dig. De-tuning shrinks the target to a very small area but it can shrink it silent! Between the two straightest ribs in the center of the coil is where the target should be. Thanks again for watching and commenting!

You said, " I use the all metal mode at really trashy sites and go slow and if it jumps above 30 I usually dig and found my 1st Indian head right next to an old nail!" GREAT TIP! I'll try that. I was searching a park and trying to keep sensitivity as high as possible (7-8; searching jewelry mode with Fe and 2 knotched out) and it was jumping EVERYWHERE and getting false "steady" weak signals. I'd dig, find nothing, and signal would go away (yes I have a good pinpointer). When I dropped Sensitivity to 5-6 I immediately started getting legit hits. When I went back over the ground I'd just searched, I found several pennies and a nickle I had missed. I was clearly over-saturating the machine!

Hi James. I think you're going to really like the f22 and this hobby! I seem to use the coin program the most. I hunt parks mainly and they have a lot of trash. Experiment and just have fun!

I bring a flat head screwdriver with me for those hard soils, shortens my search time digging.
