Aurora is at her best live, where her charisma and performance style are mesmerising. The best examples are the Nobel Peace Prize concert from 2015, the artistic masterpiece Nidarosdomen (Trondheim Cathedral) concert from 2017 and the pure magic of the HAIK concert of 2019 (which was filmed in the forest where Aurora played in her childhood). She is the real deal on so many levels with an amazing voice, the ability to consistently write thoughtful, powerful lyrics on difficult and sensitive issues, a unique stage presence and a quirky personality (which includes a wicked sense of humour). Watching more of Aurora will bring more light into your life, as it has done for her millions of fans.

As a little girl she spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her thoughts and music. Contrast with Cure For Me. It’s a fun song but as always with her with a deeper meaning. She’s bisexual and regardless of what you think about that you have to admire her courage. I’m hetero and I do. It’s a protest against conversion therapy practiced in some countries to “cure” homosexuality. Also, I like her comments before her song Heathens at Rough Trade East, London. She dedicates it to “the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” Like me.😊

Aurora is a unique (and very multi-faceted) artist. I think you won't regret it if you delve a little deeper into her music.

Just subscribed. Asking someone to suggest a favorite Aurora song is impossible. Hover over any thumbnail, click and Bingo, you have a winner! Welcome to the world of "Warriors and Weirdos" as she calls her fans. She's quirky and funny and a beautiful soul. Her quote "you don't have to be a weirdo to be a warrior but you have to be warrior to be a weirdo"

Nice 😊.She does like people to find their own meaning in her songs, and makes her lyrics with that in mind. There are exceptions though, like some of her environmental songs. She doesn't want that message to be unclear. So many favorites by now, but there's something special about watching her live. Three essential tracks IMO are "Through The Eyes Of a Child" Live at Nidarosdomen, "Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)" Live at The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, and "It Happened Quiet" Live At The Current.

She is much better live as she sings in the moment. Often so in her song that you can see her come back to our world as it ends. She sees the world in a different way, hence her lyrics.
Try her 3 at the Nobel Peace Prize concert next before her masterpiece concert at the Nidarosdomen.

She actually wrote this at 11, so I don't know where they got 16. Maybe that's when it was fully developed into what became the final product?
There is a very cool video she did for Genius, where she goes through all the lyrics of this song, singing them acapella line by line, and explaining their meaning. She usually doesn't go in depth about her lyrics, because she wants people to interpret them in their own way, so that makes it extra cool.
I would love to see you react to "Through the Eyes of a Child" live at Nidarosdomen, a beautiful old cathedral in her home country of Norway.

Some facts about the Runaway Music Video:
It was shot (as far as we know) during January 31 to February 2, 2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview).
The parts, where she wears the 'furry' top (it's actually sheep wool) are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house.
The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid very close to her parents house.
The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange (Norway).

I can't recommend highly enough that you watch her live performance of 'through the eyes of a child' live at Nidarosdomen. The entire concert is absolutely sublime! Nidaros is the oldest Cathedral in Norway where they used to crown their kings and the visuals and acoustics are phenomenal as is her vocals. That particular song really highlights the beauty and range of her vocals to perfection|! Love your reaction 😍 I just adore her!

Nice reaction to my all time favorite multi talented artist. Live is how I prefer my Aurora, the Nidarosdomen concert is the epitome of perfection, but she has many many concerts that are all top shelf. Hope to see more Aurora on your channel soon.

Yea, it is about escape. It is also about different phases of grief (first picture with sand and then about painting). You run away from the problem and world. But you can not run away forever. You need to face the reality and problem. You need to return to life. And you need to find a soft place to fall - place like home (whatever it is home for you as it can be palace or people etc) when you can "repair" yoursel. She wrote the song when was 11 and she has A LOT of great songs (one great song after another). Amazing Artist.

Everything looks and sounds lovely in this MV, despite her dark feelings that you can hear, or guess.
Many things have been said in the comments, with many suggestions, enough to begin with. She's involved in every part of her art, from writing lyrics and music, to the studio production of her tracks, and then to the many and various live performances she's able to do.
These variations, in her way of performing her songs, are part of what makes her so interesting as an artist, but you can't grasp it just with her MVs. To illustrate it, take the time to check out privately these 3 live performances of "Runaway", if you wish, as exemple (to copy/paste and search them on YT, which hosts them but don't want to validate the comment with links, for some odd reasons):
AURORA - RUNAWAY - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert
Aurora: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert (it's the first song)
AURORA - Runaway at 101.9 KINK | PNC Live Studio Session
Thanks for your interesting reaction to Aurora, this bright norwegian jewel, and her musical magic.🙂👍

That thing you read didn't have the right info. She wrote it when she was 11 years old, and there's a video online from Aurora telling us about what it's about. Basically, the levels of grief. Look up Aurora Runaway Genius song meaning. It's a worth while video to watch. It shows her fun personality. She is a very talented performer and song writer. I would suggest "Winter Bird" or "Heathens" live VEVO (Winter Bird I would suggest the Music video)
