Aliciawins! It’s actually a longer process as there is a bit the comes from the back up over the shoulder and is tucked into the belt...it’s amazing what they went through to get dressed 🏴❤️
They actually ended up reusing the footage for one of the title screens in a later season but just the final belting part.

I'm not one for schlocky romance, but these two are perfect. I get so stressed out when they're not together. I could watch them eating breakfast for an hour, lol. Their chemistry is off the charts.
Lol omg I get antsy during episodes where one of them is gone. It makes me want to skip ahead but I actually want to watch the show. Even when the plot drags a bit or whatever I still really enjoy watching these two people interact

idrow1 lol so this is what that feels like. I just started watching outlander, I’m on episode 112. I remember when she first told him the truth of who she was and he brought her back to the rocks for the first time. I legit had a panic attack when I thought she was going back to her time. Lol these two make me so anxious in the best way
same here. season 3 was pretty hard for me for those first few episodes. and even once they did meet again, it took a little while for the classic jamie+claire chemistry to shine through.
......which makes sense of course to the story. but to me i’m like noooo make the saaaame. and make them be together always. and make leoghrie die. (hahah sorry. i just hate her. but it’s not even the character i dislike. it’s that i can’t for the life of me stand that actress who portrays her. my Goddddd 😳🤦🏻♀️)

Of all the deleted scenes, this one should have never been cut from the episode 14. Much more important to the story, than the endless song and dance montages that made the final cut.

+Lola1 They've done a huge disservice to Jamie and Claire's love story so I'm not surprised this was cut. Like you said, it is so important for what's coming up and anyone who's read the books can tell exactly when (and where) Claire is speaking these words.

Every culture has meaningful symbols and traditions. This scene would have helped the viewer further understand the importance of the kilt in every aspect of the lives of the Scottish Highlanders. Watching Jamie carefully prepare and put on his garment was both instructive and sweetly endearing. When I hear some men ridicule the kilt, I think that Jamie Fraser has more manhood in his body, heart and soul than any other modern man I can think of. The kilt only adds to his allure!

Ah, the intricacies of dressing. Why indeed was this cut? It's a domestic scene, of daily normalcy, great intimacy. Very important for the viewer to see.

I know that's how you're supposed to do it, but I would not have the patience to do that every morning.
I wear a kilt like this almost every day. They only take a couple minutes to fold if you want it to look neat, if you're just trying to wear it and you don't need the pleats to look amazing you can just bunch it up instead of neatly pleating it. Then the whole pleating and wrapping process only takes a minute or two.

Most people do not except for special occasions. I'm sure there's quite a few people out there that do wear kilts either daily or at least frequently but they really are in the minority.

I’ll never understand why a scene that lasts a minute gets cut. It’s a great scene and a nice moment with Claire and Jaime.
Jamie is such a beautiful man, a pure soul. I love him and he reminds me the guy I love, a beautiful man and a pure soul as well.
I loved this I wish it was kept in that’s so interesting and shows more of the Scottish culture being acted out not just with saying lines but what actually getting dressed was like so cool!

Well, wearing a kilt works off as a workout routine you ken!
In India we have long unswen clothes like these that need to be draped in certain ways. They exist for both genders. For men its Dhoti and for women it is saree. And yah, its difficult to master the art of draping them. Still, kilt takes the cake here coz woah man, you have to lie down on the floor to wear it. Enough sit ups just for wearing a cloth. No wonder the Scots in this series are so fit.

Really late to the party, but that is most likely as voice over are usually done towards the end of postproduction and usually the actor/actress will come in and do most of them at once or on a two-three days span depending on how many lines there are. This scene was almost certainly cut before that happened. However, for pacing, the editors uses a temp voice for the voice-over to know if they have enough visual to fit the lines 😉

That was wonderful for all the loving reasons but watching the effort put into folding a kilt is an art in itself.

This scene shouldn't had been cut! Not only it's funny, it also shows the viewer how awkward the kilt is to wear and also understand how to properly wear it (assuming it is properly performed).

I did not know much about the series prior to watching and now have wondered about a man’s perspective of it. I may have to read the book collection as well. Viewership says many men watch. Please elaborate your thoughts if you can and obviously wondering your views on their relationship and romantic side of the story.

Why on earth would they cut such an amazing scene out, that is a visual from the book that unless you know stuff about kilts you would not be able to picture, it's a scene I imagine would have been both thrilling and informative and is also another peek into Claire's mind/voice/thoughts! I just would have really loved to have seen this make it into the show, and wonder if there is still a place for something similar in the future😉
Makes me wonder what awesome filmed but cut scenes we are missing, sounds like hundreds were scraped between all the seasons so far, they have even mentioned alternate endings they have filmed and only chosen one of(obviously), to see that would be so interesting....I bet a box set of just deleted scenes would sell, I mean I wouldn't underestimate the combo of Diana G fans plus fans of just the show itself and especially those who are fans of both (as they can be pretty meticulous about things take place in the original series and how they are handled outside of the books.)

The scene shown above was in the show we saw it...where she wakes up and watches him getting his clothes on and how he laid on the floor and got into his kilt...it certainly was on the series.

There’s been so many close calls where i thought the camera was gonna catch more than it should...his shirt came up pretty high there when he was getting his kilt around...and we all know what Scotsman wear under their kilt. Just want to see if it’s the same as the book. 🥴😂
