Hey Rusty , Great video brother thank you for the info I really appreciate it. I seen a set up at a power wash store selling for $700. This is a much better set up and a lot cheaper. Thank you!
Man just came to say Thank You. Used all the parts you did and was able to put it together in 20 minutes. I use it for Pesticides and Lawn Fertilizers and it works great for it. No more lugging 5 gallons on my back!
I love that idea and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using it now I'm kind of curious am I going to be able to shoot at least two stories on some of these houses have you ever tried that
I built a bucket and sprays water great. If I put sealer or stripper in it, it dribbles out and not a nice flow, and yes everything is plumbed properly just not sure why it doesn’t draw the sealer good
Good stuff my man, have a question on that pump. I'm curious how far will that shoot if you put a shooter tip on the wand ! I'm asking cause I do multi story apartment complexes and I've had several with their AC units in closets on their balconies. The AC causes rust runs down the building walls. I'm curious in distance because I'd like to use this setup for oxalic to pretreat the rust. I could use my current Softwash pump but I'd rather have an independent unit so I can run both at the same time. Your feedback on this would be much appreciated.
Thank you bro! I can picture exactly what you’re saying. I would build something exactly like this but throw like a 5gpm on it. With this small pump and a shooter tip you won’t get much above 1 story.
Thanks for the video.... can it be used to spray 5-6% chlorine? We do not have a soft wash system in our rig, but will be doing lots of tennis courts with heavy mould. Thanks again.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! I haven’t ran solvent based but I know it will definitely pull it. I used to run non skid through them but like you said , eventually it will clog. I just broadcast the non slip by hand now.
I love the idea but one glaring issue. You’re running a 12volt pump on a 20volt battery. That pump is running much faster than it should and is reducing the life greatly. Amazon also sells a dewalt battery holder with a 20 to 12 volt step down.
Great work Rusty! In your parts list the bulkhead valve parts are listed but I can't find them online. Can you share that information or a link to where you got those parts?
I’m not sure what you mean by the range of the sprayer ? And there is no sealer that connect to a hose. If you’re asking why is it superior to spraying bleach rather than 30 second outdoor cleaner from your garden hose it’s because 1. You can use SH diluted with water, saving you much more money & 2 you can have 5 gallons of ready to spray product rather than a quarter gallon.
Thanks for the awesome video Rusty. Your videos help more than you can imagine. Helps us all get that much better by learning what you know. So on behalf of your subs, thank you for what you do my man. Definitely trying to imitate your approach to your business and bring it to mine. I love and admire your attention to quality when serving your customers. I just set up this rig, I plumbed everything up except for the gun. The pump runs flawlessly when there is no restriction of the gun in line. As soon as I put the gun onto the hose, the pump starts freaking out. I tried to adjust the psi bolt and eventually all the back pressure just popped my gun off the line. What can I do to fix this?
@@rusty.nesvig yeah i am thinking thats what it is. I ordered another wand that was made for a 1gpm and gonna put a 6510 tip on it and i think it should alleviate that issue
I’ve looked up the diagram pumps and they seem to be rated for between 12v to 24v. The thing I can’t find is will they stop pumping once the line is pressurized? It sounded like yours was cycling on and off in the video.
Thank you very much bro. I’m a pest control It really help question do you have any brand to recommend for a pump that is very heavy duty? Thanks again God bless
Also should we be accounting for extra 3/8 hose since we need some besides the air compressor one to connect the pump to bulkhead and bulkhead to sealant?
I built mine tonight still waiting on the barbs 90 and straight one. Got the step down, zip tied it the top of the pump. Will this spray oil based stains too for decks and fences????
What kind of a reach can you get w that thing is you dont use a fan tip? Obviously a slightly bigger pump would get more reach too, thinking vs Xjet kind of thing.......
Hey rusty i have a new driveway a customer want's me to seal or stain. she wants me to use a darker color because of tanning stain from trees. what product do you think i should use? Thanks.
would you recommend a few batteries for a rotation or do they last a while? Also what size is the quick connect and straight male adapter that you had it wasn't listed on the parts list? Thanks
would be good for staining decks and even bleaching concrete with a strong mix not sure how long the pump would last but one job would cover the cost of a new pump
@@rusty.nesvig thanks bro. I’ve had 2 clog in me after only a few job I thought I rinsed enough water through them (15 gallons) do uou leave it dry when your done or leave water in the pump and tube? Also, do you clean your bucket and reuse them? If so what with?
Hi Rusty, I’ve ordered everything but I’m having a hard time with the bulkhead. Could you link the bulkhead you used? Thanks for the video! I’m hoping to use it this weekend.
Would this work for spraying chemical before a driveway wash? Just can’t afford the full soft wash setup. Unless there’s a list of exactly what I need to build one that i can carry around in my lil car, would this be a good thing to use?
Hey Rusty, I’m having an issue with the spray seems like there’s a lot of air pockets and I’m not getting a consistent flow of liquid through the pump to the hose then to the wand. What could be the issue? I let it run for a good 10 minutes and still inconsistent flow.
Glad this helped you! There is a big hole in the middle of the buckets for the wand to go through. Also, I never clamp down the lid completely when I’m using in. I snap on only one little section this way I’m not fighting it trying to get it off.
Hey rusty, instead of the sprayer do you think I could use a smaller custom pressure washing wand with a fan tip & quick connects, similar to a 12v soft-wash setup?
I use it mainly to spray sealer or odd chemicals that I don’t want to use in a pump sprayer. You can absolutely spray SH through it. I have a dedicated soft wash system so I use that for SH but you definitely can.
Hey Rusty,Thanks for all your videos and information. Just wondering do you ever come across a job where they just want the pavers cleaned and sanded .If so how would you charge for that. And what kind of guarantee would you offer. Thanks again
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching. Yes I have come across that a few times. I don’t recommend sanding without sealing because just one day of bad weather will wash it out so I don’t guarantee anything. You can’t “guarantee” a length on cleaning because that can change depending on seasons. I tell them it will typically stay clean for 8-12 months.

how about the battery low voltage cut of system?
I love that idea and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using it now I'm kind of curious am I going to be able to shoot at least two stories on some of these houses have you ever tried that
Question: Hi Rusty! Love the idea. You are using a 12 volt pump with 20 volt max battery. Wouldn't that ruin the pump?
Yes it will. You need a step down voltage convertor.
Looks like a mini roof washing machine 🤔 pretty bad ass bro 💪
Haha thank you brotha 👊🏻
This is awesome! No more pump sprayer!!
Exactly!
I built a bucket and sprays water great. If I put sealer or stripper in it, it dribbles out and not a nice flow, and yes everything is plumbed properly just not sure why it doesn’t draw the sealer good

so no need to step down the 20v or 18v battery to 12v? I know car battery is usually 14v, but can these pumps take 18-20v and not burn out?

Amazon has all fittings 👊🏼
@@rusty.nesvig Thank you sir, keep up the great work 👊🏾
Great video can I use a 3.5-GPM pump because I already have one.
Yes you definitely can but I wouldn’t recommend a pump that big to spray sealant. Too much volume. To spray SH or anything else , that would be fine.
Got ya thank you great information.
I built mine tonight still waiting on the barbs 90 and straight one. Got the step down, zip tied it the top of the pump. Will this spray oil based stains too for decks and fences????

Much better performance with X jet no doubt. Only pro to this would be stronger mix than X jet.
Great sprayer for window tinting 👍🏽
Hi Rusty, is your DeWalt battery 12v or 18v. My battery is 18v , do I need anything to convert to 12v. Thanks
Mine is 20v. Some people do a step down conversion and some people don’t. I’ve never seen a difference
TY for this vid I just ordered the parts it was a big help.
I seem to have the wrong bulkhead. Mine is only internally threaded in one end. Do you have a link for the right one???
That’s correct. You’ll put that end on the bottom and create your suction hose with it.
how many gallons can you typically spray with one battery?
Pretty good self-contained power-washer.
How thick of a sealer can you run through this sprayer, assuming not a 30 percent solids concrete sealer
Ure seal is 45% solids but it’s diluted with water before use. Is the sealer you’re talking about water based ?
Hey rusty i have a new driveway a customer want's me to seal or stain. she wants me to use a darker color because of tanning stain from trees. what product do you think i should use? Thanks.
Did you remove the tannin stains ? Also, is it brick pavers ?
@Rusty's Pressure Washing yes I removed the tanning stain using SH. It is concrete.
Can this be used for staining a fence???
Yes!
would you recommend a few batteries for a rotation or do they last a while? Also what size is the quick connect and straight male adapter that you had it wasn't listed on the parts list? Thanks

Yes 1/4 and I have three batteries I cycle.
@@rusty.nesvig So it's a 1/4" quick connect to 1/2" thread reduced to 3/8" male to a barb? or is the hose just clamped down on the threads?
Would this work for staining fences?
do i need a chemical pump or the one your showing should hold good?
I was wondering if that system would work as painting too?
would be good for staining decks and even bleaching concrete with a strong mix not sure how long the pump would last but one job would cover the cost of a new pump
What did you use for thr barbed quick connects ?
3/8 barb to 1/4 thread to get it on a QC
Where did you find the lid? Most places don't have a 1/2 hole I can find

How do you clean the pumps after sealing to not make them clog. Been having that problem with my pumps
