I totally loved this movie. My family said they had a good movie and I just watched and didn't know what to expect, but when I saw the Reaper, I knew the movie was going to be good. And it was. One of my favorite movies of all time. I hope for a sequel.
The Reaper should have been the demon summoned at the end instead of a poor man's balrog. Solomon didn't even do anything to the balrog besides run around it.
As much as it would have been good to see Solomon vs the reaper, I feel it’s slightly unjustified. At this point Solomon Kane deserves to go to hell and the Reaper was just doing it’s job.
I have to say while the movie itself has good parts THIS is the best part. I think I'd rather have seen the Reaper return at the end instead of some massive demon thing. 2:14 is an iconic scene that will stick with me for a while. I love that idea and I'd rip it off if I could get away with it.
he is the worse version from hades. Hades was neutral and gave people what they deserve while he devil is active in corrupting all humans and is doing the hole punishing as a side job.
I remember watching this as a kid, having no idea what I was in for (it was just one of heaps of movies my uncle had illegally downloaded and given to us on a hardrive). This whole opening sequence was one of the first times a movie made me feel genuine terrir and dread. I found the whole movie so hard to watch because I was too scared to appreciate the awesomeness of the action and visuals and originality of the world and concepts and designs, as I would now.
This movie was also my first introduction to the character even though i have heard about him before. I think his book version is even better although i like the movie as well. they kinda did him dirty by giving him backstory. Hes just so badass going around killing evil people just cos he thinks thats right thing to do. Hes kinda like crazy puritan Punisher without any tragic boohoo story that made him snap or all this selling his soul to the devil stuff. To me his lack of backstory makes him more interesting, and the movie made him feel bit more generic
