- Lethal Lava Land is a big lava sea in Super Mario 64. The course features all kinds of environments, from hard jumps to simple walking. Having the Wing Cap can help you big time in this course, but better choose a high place to take off or you'll end up flying into the lava.
You can get into the vulcano by simply jumping into it. It's quite hot, but Mario will survive, don't worry. Two more stars are located there.

This game was a revelation back in 96. A portal into the future. Getting dropped into these vast 3D worlds with unprecedented freedom, fully interactable environments, a seemingly endless array of acrobatic maneuvers that Mario never had before. There was nothing else like it on the market. On any system, anywhere. This was the first 3D open-world platformer.
I was born in the same year. I know this game because I had an older sibling. Can’t wait for the Mario movie, as that movie is bringing some references to Mario 64 and Bowser is actually a threat in this movie.

Let me tell you why I love this level. It’s home to the bullies a bowser puzzle a wooden log and a volcano. My favorite part of all is jumping in the volcano to discover a new hidden area filled with lava fire and those wall that try to squash you.

this level and with ''Big Boo's haunt'' (alongside with their respective themes), are two of my personal favorite levels of this classical video game, among other things, likely the lethal lava land, is part of Bowser's homeland, with the bullies among their more hostiles ''natives''.

With the red coins that is one MAJOR difference
Holy crap, I died SO many times when trying to get 100 coins in this course on the Switch in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Also died a lot trying to make that ridiculously hard pole jump at 6:28. Another thing that's really annoying is the RIDICULOUSLY SMALL size of those 2 platforms before the big platform the star is on. You have to be really careful when jumping onto those 2 small platforms.
I also suggest using the Koopa Shell, it’s extremely helpful with the 100 coin star

Since you mentioned SM 3D All-Stars, When were the red coins moved by the volcano? I always remembered the red coins by the moving platforms with Bowser by the Red wing Cap. So odd!
When I was a kid I once imagined this level being an ice level. With freezing ice water instead of lava and a volcano made of ice.
If somebody could make an hack of this game that can retexture this level with snow and ice physics, a good name for it would be "Freezing Frost Ice-Land" lol
There are two ice worlds in the game, Cool Cool Mountain and the later one in the higher floor where the cold water does the same damage falling from a height, but will drain Mario's health every other second, and going up to the surface does not help. Those worlds are quite a challenge, and you are likely to lose your hat, losing your defense by half. The Sand World 8 is instant death in the fast stuff. So much like Paper Mario they even got the labyrinth right. You know darn King Tuttin' well!

This is a different version of the game. Cuz I remember the 8 red coins being on the Bowser puzzle thing.
That was the DS version, the original version is around the volcano. In 3D all stars, it’s the DS version

You’re all wrong. The red coins on the Bowser puzzle you are talking about is on all versions including the original N64 version, the Shindou version aka the Switch version and the DS remake.
I have the original game on the Nintendo 64 and the red coins are on Bowser's puzzle.

Hold on a second I am a great fan of this game, but I think there's a mix-up here. The red coins for you Nintendo64Movies, they surrounded the volcano and the Power Star was there, but I remember the red coins being at the shifting Bowser puzzle. How did that sort of switch come to be? Does anyone know?

What version of Super Mario 64 is this, because when I do the red coin mission in this course, the red coins appear on the Bowser puzzle with 15 pieces and not on the volcano rotating platform

That's in 'Super Mario 64 DS' - but, in the original Super Mario 64, the Lethal Lava Land's red coins are, as you see, around the volcano.

My first recommendation is first go in the volcano and take the 2 power stars that's inside the volcano and when go take the rest of stars in the stage believe me it makes it a lot EASIER

Star 3 in this video is different in the game, because in the switch version the Red Coin Star is over at the shifting puzzle of bowser.. because I don't remember the red coins being around the volcano at all.

But of course, this was uploaded years ago, so the challenge’s over. You can still find the differences if you’d like, though
