There are no bad interview when George Carlin is around. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Tom Snyder was always a favorite of mine. His interviewing style was unique and authentic.
I actually remember watching this particular episode live in 1996 or 1997. For him to have two of my favorite showbiz people was pretty amazing. Shortly after I saw this I went to watch David Lynch's 'Lost Highway' on opening night. Time has passed so quick. lol
RIP Tom. You are missed.
My favorite routine of George Carlin’s is called my stuff and your crap. It is a riot. It is so much fun to listen to.
Tom Snyder was the best. I miss those late nights settling in to watch Tom. He interviewed the great people right through to an ordinary person off the street. Always interesting !
I talked with Tom when I worked in TV news. What an honor. He was doing 5 minute interviews with stations around the country to promote his last and newest show. He was the same in the 30 seconds leading up to the brief interview as he was during it, and had me laughing with him. Super fun guy, and hey, he liked toy trains, too, so I was always a fan.
Tom Snyder's laugh 😅 always makes me smile
Personally I love this interview. George is one of my favorite human beings of all time. At this writing I'm 5 weeks shy of my 60th birthday and I can relate to his comments. I'm now gray, losing my long hair and basically don't give a rats ass about many things and problems of the word. It's cool to me to see someone I admire at the same stage of life as I am now spill his feeling in a true and honest manner.
A great interview with geogre carlin and fond memories of watching this interview back in the day!BRAVO to Tom Synder in tv and radio!
Listening to this in 2019 with great nostalgic sadness, wondering what these wonderful men would say if they could do this interview over again, now! Thanks, Eric P for this highly entertaining video.
What makes me sad is seeing all those folks socializing together (along with the bartender), no one wearing a mask, no one afraid of anyone else's germs. How long will it take untiil we can be like THAT again??
@@jazzmanchgo Agree, thoroughly.
Thomas James Snyder (May 12, 1936 - July 29, 2007) was an American television personality, news anchor, and radio personality best known for his late night talk shows Tomorrow, on NBC in the 1970s and 1980s, and The Late Late Show, on CBS in the 1990s.[1] Snyder was also the pioneer anchor of the prime time NBC News Update, in the 1970s and early 1980s, which was a one-minute capsule of news updates.[2]
Man i miss Tom and George, I remember watching this show when i was in my single digits and the level of class, sophistication always left me with a feeling of warmth cause all grown ups had to be like Tom haha
My two favorite people on one show
The late late show with tom synder without any doubt is great television.Bring it back on TV Land in rerun at a hour earlier. The best of TS on dvd ! BRAVO TS
a great run with late late!
possibly my two favorite people who ever lived on this planet... this is a blessing to come across. dont fuck this up tom!
I was fortunate to have worked in radio at 2 stations George had previously worked.
KJOE in Shreveport, Louisiana & KXOL, Ft. Worth. According to legend, Carlin was a sweet & caring guy both before & after stardom.
There is such a class with these old videos..
2:07 had me cracking up. Thanks for the video.
I remember staying up and watching this show back when I was in my late childhood/early teens. I fear that today's youth has such a short attention span and voracious appetite for fast entertainment that they can not possibly appreciate such long form interviews and discussions. There is definitely no other show like this on the air anymore.
Your fears are realized by the majority of youth, but hasn’t this always been the case with young people? There of course will always be a minority who are constantly being initiated, because there will always be those who raise their kids with an appreciation of knowledge.
these are literally my two heroes. ok. wtf. great! thanks.
Two of my favorite people with the same birthday. This was a treat!
ALL GREAT GUYS!
I love both of them
Thanks, Eric. I loved this man. So great to hear his beautiful voice again. Ty.
met Snyder once when at Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon, CA. think about all the 2 degrees of separation from all these geniuses!
Thanks for posting
Tom was a smooth operator.
3 to 4 years later, Tom Snyder narrated A Century of Lionel Toy Trains and did a good job at it
That girl he keeps referring to was a real doll. Wow.
Likes the blondes haha.
I miss him he Waa great
I miss Tom

Tom Snyder had an eye for the outstanding!
i think tom snyder as one of the best of alll time
Look people, all curious George ever wanted waa place to put his stuff!
Αnd his stuff,was the best!
Watched a lot of Tom..he was unique...a hip square 😄
1:35 Tom comparing CBS hallway to Nazi gas chambers what a fucking legend!
Haha. Carlin nailed his market. I'm a mid-teen.
ideas are the greatest things going 30:20
Yes, I watched this when I was around 7-9. Why? I don't know.
"I have a disposition for heart attacks" yeah, George, it's called cocaine. 😂
22:49 Today
would have been better to see Carlin interview Manson
That bar lady was so pretty
Anyone know who the woman is? She looks like Courtney Thorne-Smith
27:29 Lynch.
30:02 I heard that, but what's it titled NOW?
Who was the woman, George's wife?
25:20 A word on your next point. If your stuff isn't advertiser-friendly why do you think people will like it? Don't advertisers just want to be associated with stuff that people likes?
So george has a daughter....I'll wait to see how she is
*What was that babe at the bar? And did Snyder only mention her because she was such a fox, or because he really knew her?*
Leave it up to your imagination
Ok, I'll bite...who's the blonde in the bar?
These guys died within a year of each other
Did we ever learn the identity of the attractive mystery woman?
agriculture 19:25 Terry, predisposition 21:26 1982 Richard Pryor 22:24 it has nothing to do with morality, controlling what you think 23:27 for having underage kids in there 24:13 it's like having stew without any seasoning in it with from my standpoint, somewhat,25:18 selling trucks, customers running screaming away from you 25:51 blue dog, no pressure just 26:18 8 minutes early because they were no laughs26:26 that book is not coming out till May we're talkin very early, a fan of yours tom for a long long time
Better than the poofy, childish late late show that's on now.
mrkrinkle72 fuck jimmy fallon
Fallon is the tonight show, James Corden hosts the current late late show.
10:44 is that a fact? You come you go? Did you honestly think you were ever going to wear your hair long again in that lifetime? The fact that you would even try to explain it... But go on :)
what was with Tom zooming in on some random chick? LOL
And on top of that, Lynch retired. Depressing.
I never show this show until now. How come this guy didn't last long he was funny. Craig Kilborn than replaced him and I never found him funny.
last long? He's done this show for almost 25 years......had a similar show on NBC from 1973-1982 called the Tomorrow Show......David Letterman's Late Night 12:30 show was created and Tom Synder left NBC and did radio and CNBC for a few years. Letterman "repaid" Synder back for taking his time slot originally by signing him to CBS under his imprint (Worldwide Pants Inc.) to have a 12:30 show again, hence....the Late Late Show. Synder is the best at what he does and that's interview people with no crowds and no distractions. Miss the dude a lot.....RIP
Tom sounds like he has a cold.
Carlin and Lynch, two boss ass mofos.
13:50 George’s thesis on why the human species is failing.
I've watched him in the 70 and 80's. Stopped watching Tom Snyder after I graduated High school in 84
Tom Snyder's haircut is aggravating.
carlin was all business. he talked a good game, but he was 100% capitalistic.
He explained this in another interview.
@@MichaelGaynor93 yep. heard it long ago. the caveman bit.
@@WintersWarhe was not 100% capitalistic lmao.
it is interesting this guys died at the same age of 71
I'm buffing that joke up to an A-.
This is the worst green screen shot ever!! :))
Dear George, first of all big fan and bla bla, but YTF would you ever want me to be stricken by an effin comment? WTF did I ever do to ya? And did you take a good look at jamaican women? Are you sure you want them extinct too? Let's be reasonable here, please. And don't make it seem like it's difficult to pay attention, just because you up and died. I know you can damn well read this. 10:00
Andrei Taranu What are you talking about?
George is great but his wishing for disaster to hit the earth is a little pretentious
The planet is primed for a disaster. Our personal feelings toward it are irrelevant.
The last guy with 70s hair on tv
Bad idea with the remote, barroom interview, HBO and CBS tsk tsk
